I'd visited White Rhino in Waxahachie and Cedar Hill before, and I'd been dreaming of the Dreamsicle Matcha ever since. This time, it wasn't has dreamy but still had a creamy and refreshing taste. (Pro tip: get it half sweet.) the churro muffin concoction caught my eye, but sadly, I'm avoiding gluten. They had a gluten-free option for the avocado toast which was nice but a little too tangy (lemon??) for my taste. Before we left town, I stopped back in a second time to try to Salted Honey Cream Matcha. Even half sweet, it was still pretty sweet. It had a nice flavor but I didn't note any salt. Overall, I had a good experience at this location. It would be a good place for locals to go to study or work as the vibe is hipster mod, and it's quiet enough to think. read more

This is a very new cafe place in Garland along the East side of President George Bush highway. I ordered the Hot Matcha latte which is on point. I also order the Chocolate Croissant. DRINKS Dreamsicle Matcha - I'm not sure what I was supposed to expect. On the description it mentions matcha green tea with orange cream. They use oat milk usually. Overall the drink had some undissolved particles of something that wasn't quite pleasant to bite into. The oat milk was probably also strong because the drink tasted kind of like clay (but maybe that's just because I have a preference for a certain, non-nutty flavor oat milk). It's also a pretty sweet drink and the matcha taste isn't very prominent. Maybe their coffees are better, but the matcha (specifically Dreamsicle Matcha) wasn't really it. VIBES Great place to study. It's very roomy and spacious with both seating inside and outside. Inside sitting has high table seating, booth, chairs, and several tables and outlets along the walls. It gives rich home energy which makes the studying experience more fun. I will say the seats were a bit on the dirtier/stained side against the wall with the LED sign. SERVICE Service was great! The person taking my order and making the drinks was very polite and respectful towards all the guests. This place was packed for midday Sunday though! Parking lot was full, lots of people inside chilling and working/ studying. Cars in the drive thru. All good signs of a great coffee spot. Disclosure: I did come here for a yelp elite event, however this review is for my overall experience and not the event itself. Loved the set up and decor of this place! It was very modern, plenty of seating, and very clean. Got the Love Note coffee w/ oat milk. It's a seasonal drink with chocolate and strawberry. Surprisingly I liked it! You can actually taste the strawberry and it wasn't overly sweet or artificial. I got it hot per the recommendation of the barista. I think it would've been great cold too. They were pretty quick with the food and drink too. It got a bit busy after I settled but it seemed like everything flowed smoothly. The maple chicken biscuit was good, but not my vibe. The biscuit was fluffy but it fell apart quite easily. Chicken was juicy and not dry at all. The "maple" was severely lacking though. It was just a thin syrup with no actual maple flavor. I also wasn't a fan of their pickles. It definitely filled me up and I'd say is worth the $9 for what you're getting. It just wasn't for me. I like that this coffee shop is close to me and it had plenty of outlets for you to charge up and do your work. Definitely might come back here to study and do work. Ummmmm - love this place and glad it's near me. Garland is starting to get more and more coffee spots and I'm excited about it. White Rhino is spacious, has amazing bites, and great coffee! I mean the thick maple glazed chicken biscuit really had me and my man too happy. I didn't expect a coffee shop to have a chicken so tasty and thick. The other breakfast sandwich was good, but I'd actually prefer to take the secret sauce off, it was a bit too mayo based for a breakfast sandwich IMO. The service was great, and we got good recommendations. I ordered a vanilla latte, was a bit sweet, but I know once I get this place figured out, my coffee will be just right I really loved that the tables have circuits near them, so working there was easy because I was able to charge sitting anywhere. We loved this coffee place! We tried the iced vanilla latte and iced snickerdoodle latte both with oat milk. The snickerdoodle one was better and perfect for fall. I mainly wanted to go here for their gluten free brownie since I can't eat gluten right now and it was delicious! So was their cinnamon roll. Tagged along for my wife's Elite week event and ordered a Sebastián Latte (Irish cream, white chocolate, caramel) and a Berry red velvet brownie. It was pretty full, but the wait wasn't too bad, and the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the coffee a lot and didn't find it too sweet, but, obviously, if you're a purist, it will be. Cute little spot to get some work or reading done. I ordered the seasonal latte, The Love Note, it had such beautiful soft notes of flavor. I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks and this was perfectly balanced. My brother ordered the whisky pop tart and I was really surprised with how much I liked it. This is a nice aesthetically pleasing coffee shop. The selections are good. I went in for the first time recently and mentioned to the barista it was my first time and I received a blank stare. The first time I went, the barista scalded the milk in my latte. I wasn't impressed by that but I did like the pastries and the ambiance. A friend encouraged me to give them another try, so I did... and once again the milk was completely wrecked. Before today's experience, I would have given White Rhino Garland a 5-star review. However, today's experience was awful, and I can't see myself going back there. I liked White Rhino because it was located close to my house, the store was clean, and the staff was friendly. The only issue was the limited parking space. A few weeks ago, I noticed that some customers were parking in the 2 spaces dedicated to the drive-thru. I, on the other hand, had parked far away from the entrance. So, when I walked into the store, I asked the staff if those 2 parking spaces were reserved. The staff quickly told me that they weren't and to feel free to park there when the other spaces were filled. Fast-forward to today. The parking lot was full, so I parked in one of those spaces. When I walked into the store, I was greeted like usual, and I placed my order. After placing my order, the barista told me to move my car. It was an awkward moment. I felt like the barista was holding my order "captive" until I moved my car. I told her about the previous conversation about the parking spot, and she insisted that I immediately move my car. One of the other baristas tried to intervene on my behalf, but she was ignored by her coworker. I was disappointed in how I was treated and felt like the barista could have handled things differently. Based on today's experience, I won't be back. There are plenty of coffee shops in the area with adequate parking and are friendly to their customers. read more
