We didn't have a car at the time, the owner even offered to drive us up himself as it wasn't a super busy day. Lovely experience. Kinda surprised reading the 1 stars for this place- for us the tubing was a fairly unsupervised experience but one I think was quite safe given our gear, basic instruction, and a bit of common sense. We had an absolute blast!! Tubes are super nice, they had great flip flops for purchase for $5, and we got some helmets and safety gear to boot. Boulder Creek was a ton of fun! I feel like you have to expect that if you're in Colorado, you shouldn't be surprised there are boulders in the creek!! It's rocky!!! Absolutely horrible experience........we told the guy it was our first time and he said "oh there are little drops" i was super excited.....however the drops were HUGE AND SCARY.....rented double.tube and my friend and i hit rocks with our asses.....we got stuck on rocks every 15 seconds.....ww only wemt down 1 time and it took us 2 hours! ***PLEASE READ: THINGS WE WISH WE HAD KNOWN BEFORE GOING TUBING IN THE BOULDER CREEK*** We were on vacation in Colorado and my friend found this company while googling "things to do in Boulder". It was the end of July 2017 and we only learned after the fact that the Boulder Creek presents different challenges depending on the time of the year and due to a variety of factors including rain/water levels. In the spirit of full disclosure I will say that the nice gentleman who worked at the store did warn us that this was not going to be an easy float down a lazy river. But he also did not properly prepare us for the danger that would await us. Hey, I get it, they've gotta make money so discouraging unsuspecting tourists from going tubing ain't gonna happen. So here are some things to keep in mind that I wish we had known: 1) this company is not located anywhere near the boulder creek. They do not supervise your "adventure" whatsoever. There are no guides. They point out a few landmarks on a map, attach the tubes to your car with twine, and send you on your way. There is no supervision whatsoever near the creek, so if you get in trouble or get hurt like we did, pray to god you encounter some good samaritans. 2) there is no place to change clothes. We were doing a day trip to boulder and coming from somewhere else (not wearing bathing suits) and while there is a small bathroom onsite at the store, you can barely move enough to use the toilet let alone spread out your stuff. 3) the guy told us to navigate to eben g. fine park which was easy enough to locate via google maps. From there you have several choices in terms of where you start your tubing. Since we were not given a map nor did we memorize the one the guy briefly showed us at the shop, we opted to walk along the path and start upwards of the parking lot so we could float down and end where the car was parked. Makes sense, right? Omg this was the worst decision of life. I only saw after the fact that those sections upwards of the park are considered class V rapids which are very, very dangerous! Sure enough, we fell out of the tubes several times and got sucked into the eddies which basically pull you down under water. We were flipped upside down under water and the current is so strong that I actually lost my shoes! After this happened twice we realized this was super dangerous and not fun whatsoever, and thank goodness there were people around. Thank you to the two kind strangers who pulled me up and out of the creek, as the sides are quite high and it is hard to climb your way out on your own. 4) you MUST wear both the life jackets and the helmets!!! No exceptions! The shop provides these. 5) do your research. Maybe there were other areas of the creek where the rapids were not as dangerous. But we were scratched up a bloody from the less than 10 minutes we were in there so we didn't stick around to find out. There was another group of girls and one of them hurt herself so badly she had to seek medical attention. We were able to clean ourselves up with the basic first aid kit they had at the shop and then stopped by the nearby target to get ointment. I don't blame the shop 100% for this, obviously this was also a bit of "user error" but this experience was so horrific that I had to post this so others wouldn't experience the same thing. Horrible staff. They sent us down a creek saying it was safe even though the current was very fast and there were fallen trees all over. I was with a huge group and almost all of us got injured and/or nearly drowned. Unprofessional to the max. We came back and explained to them what had happened and they ignored us and didn't take things seriously. We asked them if anyone has died before, and they responded with "it depends on your definition of death" while chuckling. Who says that?! And they said that in front of one of the girl who almost drowned and had been clearly traumatized and crying. All this just to make money off of us. I'm never renting tubes from them again. read more

Showed up pumped to rent standup paddleboards that we had already reserved online. The staff looked confused and responded saying "oh we don't have any, we haven't checked our reservations for today yet." Again, this was after we had already put in a reservation. Paul was a super big help suggesting gear and loading gear. He was also knowledgeable about the area we were paddling and was just an awesome guy all around who was patient and understood customer service. Unfortunately I got a broken pump with my inflatable paddle board. Which was kind of a damper on my day. Everyone else was hauling in their kayaks and I was left without a paddle. That's a pun. So when we left for the day and returned the gear I brought up the broken pump. Paul was shocked and apologetic. He used is consistent customer service powers to make things right and needless to say I'll be back. Maybe for a canoe next time. I'm a little more familiar with those. read more

Don't go to this place right now. I understand that it's COVID but they have a really bad system going and requiring people to do drive up service which is asinine to say the least. I wait for like an 45 min-1 hour and there was only like 6-7 cars ahead of me. By the time it was my turn, there was literally 10 cars stalling in the middle of the road blocking traffic and polluting the environment. read more

If I could give this place a half star, I would. The kids running the store were a joke. I asked one of them a question regarding the waiver and his response was, "your chillin'". Excuse me, what? Putting the kayak on our vehicle was also a joke. The top of our truck is completely scratched. The metal from one of the seats made a 3 inch a scratch which took the paint completely off. They also broke the tail light. After asking the two teens to please stop and check what they were doing, they realized all the damage on the vehicle but continued to put it on. When we get to the area we were kayaking, try and take the kayak off the truck and realize there were NO handles, which makes it very difficult to carry. We left the kayak on the truck for the entire day. Returning the kayak and dealing with the owner was a complete other nightmare. He took no ownership of what happened to our vehicle. Was so rude and constantly interrupting. I would avoid this place at all costs read more

Be very careful if you plan to bring a group to this place. Call ahead but be prepared for them not to answer the phone. They are very small and run out of equipment early. Transportation can be a challenge as well as they are not in the business of transporting more than a couple of people. Overall the staff was very friendly and did their best but the business model needs some work. read more

I was visiting my best friend at her new home and since I'm from CA and never done anything like this, I figured why not. I didn't know what to expect, but it was still fun. The gentlemen at the store suggested us to have a life vest and helmet. It was actually a good idea. I never fell off, but everyone else with us did (~8 ppl) and got flipped under water typically at the rapids. The only thing I wish I had was water shoes/water socks. Just sit back, lean back at the rapids and it's quite fun! Lots of screams though. It was a lot of fun. Safety first though! No transportation like they reported on their website, and very difficult to get a hold of them on the phone (called for 2 days and left multiple messages with no return call). I would highly recommend this for any adult, not appropriate for kids or anyone who is not a strong swimmer! read more

The staff needs to do a better job describing the intensity of the "creek". They should require life jackets and helmets and they should explain how to steer and ride the inner tube. They also need to tell you that if you go the wrong way at the fork you go over a dam! Fortunately we were wearing helmets otherwise my husband would have drown. We all flipped and lost our shoes. HORRIBLE SERVICE. If I could give zero stars I would. There is no shuttle service, the employees claim there "hasn't been one for years" yet the website claims there is. There is no way to get your tubes to the site except the cheap twine they suggested us to tie to our roof. Also ran out of waivers causing us to wait an hour for them to go to staples to get them and in the end ended up just getting a refund for the tubes. Would NEVER ever recommend the place to anyone. YOU MUST WEAR SOME KIND OF WATER SHOES on this creek. Something we were not told/advised by this place who rented us the tubes, helmet and lifevest. But when you fall out of your tube things can quickly turn from good to bad in an instant, as all the bottom is filled with river rocks of all sizes, and they're slippery PLUS you're being pushed by the current. The guys at this place seemed friendly enough but the service part sucked in that they don't prepare you for anything about how just walking here can cut you up bad and break limbs, much of which could be avoided or lessened if you have foot protection. We actually went during a nice day with low water levels but there are still some dangerous parts, and each time we went through it each time was a different experience because the current pulls you this way and that. After our 3rd go I got stuck on the corner before a rapid, and it kept me under over and over where i had to let go of my tube and it tossed me around so hard i broke a toe, and scraped myself up bad and was beaten around alot by the rocks as the current was pulling me my legs dragged into the rocks. When i was able to grab the tube but not yet sit back on it, just hold it, the pain got even worse as it drug me faster over the rocks with my shins banging into every eddy we passed. That added insult to injury, and made my injuries 10 times worse than they were. My take aways are this: 1- wear a water shoe, not flipflop, to protect your feet you can actually walk when you need to in the creek and help prevent you from breaking your toes and hurting your feet. 2- realize there is no-one here to help you, you and your party are alone to figure this out. 3-if you bring your keys like I did, (and put them in a plastic bag deep in my pockets), the rapid tossed me around like a rag so much it emptied my pockets and my fob was gone just like that causing hours of other work to get another, (not cheap around $500) or overnighting your spare if you have one. If you bring anything of value attach it to you so no matter how much you get in water trouble, you'll still have them to get back in your car and go home. We didn't. We had to rely on kind strangers to help us. 4-this creek while nice when it's all going your way, is risky, because the 2 times we went over it we had minor injurys then the 3rd time, major injuries. Not worth it. This company had no literature for novices about any of this. I would have paid easily $20 for a pair of shoes just for this but none were offered or advised. read more

These guys are so knowledgable and helpful with planning a great trip tailored for your groups abilities. They have top notch equipment and took the time to explain how everything works and offer great tips. It's obvious they know what they are doing and really love to see others enjoying the rivers and creeks as much as they do. I was able to purchase a great demo at the end of the season from them at a very reasonable price. So if you find you love it after a few rentals check in with them at the end of the year, heads up their stuff goes fast. read more

4 of us from out of town rented tubes from these guys yesterday and spent the entire day tubing Matt's Whitewater Park and had the best time! They were so accommodating and even dropped us off! Rented 4 tubes and a dry bag and brought a cooler of snacks to enjoy in the park. Highly recommend! read more

No one picks up the phone. When you get there, they have a small parking lot with a lot of moron's sitting in it lazily putting on their sunscreen, oblivious that anyone else would want to pull in. They don't have a large volume of tubes, if you get there and there's not one you have to wait and no one tells you that until about 10 minutes after you're standing there in the cramped "lobby" where staff seem irritated that there's one more person to ignore. They say there were kayaks available but then won't rent you one. I can't believe this is the only option in Boulder. Business opportunity for someone. read more

They need to get their story straight. If you can't pick up the gear the night before then take that info off the website that says you can. And add the whole waiver requirement process somewhere on the website so people know that EVERYONE in the group needs to sign the waiver on person. It's not anywhere to be found on the website and was never mentioned when reserving the gear. read more

We got all signed up super easy and purchases the shuttle service to drop us off. It took almost an hour for the service to take us. When we got in they were going to put 2 extra people without seat belts in the shuttle(suv) but they ran out of rafts so they got out. Then it broke down half way there. We got a jump and there was no ac the rest of the way. We finally arrived and one raft was flat. The shuttle driver called the owner and they said I'll call you back, he kept calling the owner and they didn't rush or even answer his phone calls after 20 minutes. He said they ran out of rafts and we banking on a return shortly. So they basically sold more rafts than they had so we had to just wait. After about an hour the guy finally showed up with our raft. When we finished the owner asked us how it was and we told her how it was pretty bad getting there and took forever. She said, "oh, sorry." Like oh well. read more
