I love Whittier Cafe! even though I live in the Wash Park area of Denver [with plentiful coffee shops], I drive 20 minutes northeast to this gem of City Park. this is a lovely neighborhood coffee shop with a lot of heart. -their coffee + food offerings are tasty AND affordable. -they have weekly Ethiopian coffee rituals on Sunday afternoons, which are absolutely lovely to experience. -they have plentiful seating and outlets, including outdoor seating with a great patio! -lots of parking availability! -LONG HOURS! Good coffee/cafe in the neighborhood we were staying in. The bakery display case looked a little sad, but while we were sitting and sipping our coffee, we noticed that more baked goods were being delivered. The vibe is a little eccentric but the service was friendly. I appreciate how they allow you to pour your own soy, they give you the carton on the counter and you add as much or as little as you want! read more

I absolutely love this Denver gem. Denver is not short of adorable, delicious, kind hearted, beautiful coffee shops. This one is no different.. well except that this Ethiopian inspired cafe reminds you to be a good human, has a lovely outdoor patio, and lots of books and artwork to admire. I also got two London Fogs here. And I can assure you, the baristas were consistent! Plus everyone was nice. Which is always nice. read more

I stopped in to grab a quick breakfast on my way to class and ordered a breakfast burrito to go. The decor is adorable and very artsy. "Dog treats at the register" type of place. The cashier was cute and super friendly. She seemed very calm and efficient. That being said, it took quite a while to get my breakfast. After I ordered, several more people came in. I'm pretty sure I heard a microwave beep several times. My burrito was definitely pre-made and heated up but honestly, not bad. Relatively unremarkable except for the cheerful vibe and artsy decor. read more

Very nice little neighborhood coffee house with a great outdoor area. Service was great! It was a bit busy when I went on a Sunday late morning, but service did come with a smile. The location is in an older Denver neighborhood, so it was very quiet. Overall enjoyed and will need to go back during warmer weather to check out the outdoor area. read more

I have been supporting this cafe and owner since it opened. They have always been slow, but today I stood at the counter for 10 min while 3 employees completely ignored me. Came here today after nice bike ride to city park with my boyfriend. Nice little hole in the wall near 5-points. I got a vanilla latte and he got a macchiato both with extra shots, and they were scrumptious. Of course we just had to try a blueberry scone that was staring us right in the face. Spectacular tasting scone!! There is a nice patio area outside to enjoy the neighborhood, and jazz-life music. I dig the vibe! read more

Cafe on a quiet street with a cute outdoor area, serves wine and some cafe food - the croissant was amazing and the burrito was fine...nothing special. Coffee was good and pretty strong - the 20 oz comes with 4 shots. I liked that the menu wasn't endless and confusing. Pretty cute coffee shop, I've been coming here on and off for awhile but not very much because the staff isn't that friendly. They often seem kind of annoyed that they have to help you. Today, my friend and I ordered drinks and pastries. They told us to sit down until they called our number. Called our number and there was only 1 drink and 1 of the pastries was wrong. When I told the person behind the counter she was so unnecessarily rude, like I was making an unreasonable request. She snapped at me to go sit back down and she would get the other drink and correct pastry and call my number when it's ready, she didn't want me standing there. Next time she called my number, just the drink and no pastry. This place just isn't worth it, and I'm sure they could care less if I go back. read more

Today was my first time going there and it became an instant favorite. The whole vibe of the place is nice and relaxing. Their coffee is tasty, and although I have yet to try their baked goods, they looked delicious. They have a huge patio (for all your social distancing needs) with great music that's not too loud so you can definitely have a conversation. They sanitized everything after we left, too. I was in Denver for a softball tournament and one morning we had a few extra hours before the game started. We walked here (which was right across the street) and had coffee and a croissant. My niece was really impressed with the coffee art the barista did with her coffee (I can't tell you how many Instagram or Snapchat photos she took). Met a friend here for coffee one morning and neither of us were pleased with our choice. The staff was NOT friendly. There was only one table available and it appeared someone's phone was on the table and maybe a pad of paper or something. We asked if anyone was sitting there and a female came from behind the counter completely acting pissed off that she had to move her phone and instead went behind the counter to sit (she was an employee). There was a man there who was making cat calls to my friend everytime she got up to order something. The place seemed very dirty. We will not be back. read more
