I had the sliced beef brisket sandwich, and it was excellent. The meat was tender and flavorful, and there was a good amount of it. Whole Hog has several different sauces to choose from, including mild, two levels of spicy, sweet, two kinds of vinegar-based sauces and a "Volcano" sauce.. The two spicy sauces were good. The atmosphere was inviting and comforting with a rustic decor and blues music playing over the loudspeakers. The woman taking the orders was super cool, and even though we hadn't decided what we wanted to order yet, she was patient with us. I was here a few days ago and had half a slaw of ribs plate with two sides. Unfortunately I failed to see my receipt and I was charged $5 more. That was my fault for not checking but I don't like to get ripped off. I would stay the hell away from here and the bbq wasn't exactly any good. Try Wright's BBQ which is way better. read more

I ordered the 2 meat platter. The ribs were about 3 inches long with very little meat & were very dry. The pulled chicken was also dry & not flavorful. This will be my last trip to Whole Hog. Waiting on Wrights Barbecue to open. read more

Just ok. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, but also reminded me of boxed mac and cheese. The baked beans were really good, though the flavors were subtle at first. The pulled pork sandwich was good. Other than the baked beans, the food was average. It doesn't help that I've been traveling through southern and central US and have had a lot of BBQ recently. This place is known for its Hog BBQ. So many awards and honors. Unfortunately, we are not pork eaters so we did not try the award winning pork. However, we did order beef brisket meal and pulled chicken salad. Our meal was good. Enjoyed the salad and finished every bite! Hubby a brisket was okay. Lean which he likes but he did taste the smoke in the meat. Beans were great, he said the potato salad was too creamy, meaning too much cream sauce. I thought it was fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. The place is huge, with 3 big rooms to feed the crew! This is the second location of Whole Hog Cafe I have been too. Nothing but positive things to say. Ordering is super easy, and staff were friendly and helpful. If you are dining in there is plenty of places to sit. When you first walk in they have a little sport auction going on, nothing for me personally but I can see the appeal. (Also it's a shared parking lot and I never have any issues finding a spot.) The food was got and I enjoyed everything I got. There are 5 types of bbq sauce, they come in little plastic 'bags'- I do wish there was a smaller option to try all of them, like a little make up sample! Anyways, the pulled chicken and the pulled pork were great. I found the buns to be a little more than needed but that's a personal preference so no hate there. Sides were okay, mac was lil chalky .. green beans could've been seasoned better. The ribs on the other hand were pretty good. Tenderness was okay, flavor profile was there, however I would've like them not sauced to get a true taste. The sauce was solid, not overly sweet with a good tang. Coming in to Little Rock for a concert we thought we get us some grub before the show. One quick search on Yelp for the best bbq brought us to The Whole Hog cafe. At 4pm on a Thursday this place was eerily quiet but that just meant we got our food pretty quickly. We asked what is the best way to try a bit of everything and we were told the ultimate platter is the best. So we got burnt pork ends, smoked sausage, brisket and ribs. Sides of Mac n Cheese, baked beans and of course some greens. The burnt ends were amazing. All the fat perfectly rendered and nicely smoked. The sausage was nice and juicy. The brisket was okay but coming from Texas, sorry Arkansas but Texas has you beat. Lastly the ribs where tasty although I do prefer dry rub. And the meat could have been a little more fall off the bone. All in all this was a good bbq spot. Maybe we are a little spoiled in Texas. But that BBQ sauce #6 was perfect, had to get me some to take home. If you're in LR and looking for some bbq, this place is worth a visit. read more

Absolutely amazing food! I did a red state BBQ tour recently, and this was the best overall experience. Some places had BOMB ribs but the sides were uninspired. That was not the case here! I had the best potato salad ever. And I don't even like potato salad! The atmosphere is amazing. You immediately get the sense that this place is a winner. Literally.
