I was here a few days ago and had half a slaw of ribs plate with two sides. Unfortunately I failed to see my receipt and I was charged $5 more. For the sides, I went with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and coleslaw. Of course, all the meats were incredibly tender and full of flavor. Try their BBQ sauces, they're all tasty in their own way. As for the sides, all great, but it's the mashed potatoes for me; little chunks of potato and slightly tangy. - Banana Pudding | Soft wafers and creamy banana pudding... get it. The perfect dessert. THE DRINK. - Sweet Tea | Sweetness without the iced tea bitterness. Love it. THE PARKING. Surface lot, free parking. No problems finding a place to park. THE RETURN? Just ok. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, but also reminded me of boxed mac and cheese. The baked beans were really good, though the flavors were subtle at first. The pulled pork sandwich was good. Other than the baked beans, the food was average. It doesn't help that I've been traveling through southern and central US and have had a lot of BBQ recently. This is the second location of Whole Hog Cafe I have been too. Nothing but positive things to say. Ordering is super easy, and staff were friendly and helpful. If you are dining in there is plenty of places to sit. When you first walk in they have a little sport auction going on, nothing for me personally but I can see the appeal. (Also it's a shared parking lot and I never have any issues finding a spot.) The food was got and I enjoyed everything I got. There are 5 types of bbq sauce, they come in little plastic 'bags'- I do wish there was a smaller option to try all of them, like a little make up sample! Anyways, the pulled chicken and the pulled pork were great. I found the buns to be a little more than needed but that's a personal preference so no hate there. This place is known for its Hog BBQ. So many awards and honors. Unfortunately, we are not pork eaters so we did not try the award winning pork. However, we did order beef brisket meal and pulled chicken salad. Our meal was good. Enjoyed the salad and finished every bite! Hubby a brisket was okay. Lean which he likes but he did taste the smoke in the meat. Beans were great, he said the potato salad was too creamy, meaning too much cream sauce. I thought it was fantastic. Sides were okay, mac was lil chalky .. green beans could've been seasoned better. The ribs on the other hand were pretty good. Coming in to Little Rock for a concert we thought we get us some grub before the show. One quick search on Yelp for the best bbq brought us to The Whole Hog cafe. At 4pm on a Thursday this place was eerily quiet but that just meant we got our food pretty quickly. We asked what is the best way to try a bit of everything and we were told the ultimate platter is the best. So we got burnt pork ends, smoked sausage, brisket and ribs. Sides of Mac n Cheese, baked beans and of course some greens. The burnt ends were amazing. All the fat perfectly rendered and nicely smoked. The sausage was nice and juicy. The brisket was okay but coming from Texas, sorry Arkansas but Texas has you beat. Lastly the ribs where tasty although I do prefer dry rub. And the meat could have been a little more fall off the bone. All in all this was a good bbq spot. Maybe we are a little spoiled in Texas. But that BBQ sauce #6 was perfect, had to get me some to take home. If you're in LR and looking for some bbq, this place is worth a visit. read more

Well this has been our go to for chicken barbecue. Ordered from this location and the other off frontage road many times as my husband is working in Arkansas for several months now. However, I always cringe when having to bring my service dog in but it's far to hot at 100+ degrees outside to leave him in my car. So although he is wearing his vest which has clear large lettering SERVICE DOG and other descriptions on it. The food preparer lady had to attempt to say he can't be in there. I replied yes he can he's a certified trained service dog. She says oh okay and precedes to give me not nice looks like she didn't want him in there anyway. Well he's trained and am told by others he listens better than most children. Plus what would you like me to leave him in my car? Food is great. But maybe retrain the staff on service dogs and how those of us who have them are already having difficulty and they need not add to our difficulties by being uneducated or rude about service dogs. The one location on frontage road has been so kind and welcoming. I'll go back there but not the main location. I don't need these ladies critical judgment. They get paid to serve food not to give their opinions. read more
