My wife and I came down to Hollywood Beach for done and a nice walk. We didn't have any place specific in mind for dinner so we stopped here - WHY NOT!?! The hostess was very nice and provided us a menu to look at and see if this was a place we wanted to try. She gave us some good suggestions as well. Our waitress was very friendly and also have us some great suggestions. As soon as we saw the grilled octopus on the menu we were in! Such a great presentation with the orchid on a bed of potatoes. The octopus was succulent and grilled to perfection. The chimmichuri was AMAZING! Not too garlicky like most people do. The potatoes weren't that great and would have preferred mane a bed of rice. My amazingly beautiful wife ordered the Caribbean Burger. The Burger was cooked to perfection with an egg and plantains. The only negative with the Burger was the plantains kept falling out of the bottom And the bottom bun was overgrilled. But it had a great flavor once you smashed the plantain and got it to stay on the Burger. I ordered the truffle gnocchi with chicken. Is it came in an amazing mushroom cream sauce with the gnocchi made absolutely perfectly. Superb flavor! I would absolutely order it again but try it with shrimp. Everything was really good and we would absolutely come back again. We understand with the area that they have to add a service charge to make sure that they are receiving a tip. But I would usually tip more than the 18% that the service charge was. read more

We sat outdoors, and it was lovely. The meal took quite a while to arrive, and our server was pleasant. The edamame was tasty, but the Why Not roll was mediocre, and the Greek salad with shrimp was disappointing. Me and my husband sat down and it took about 5 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us--there were two bartenders; the bar is small so it's not like they didn't see us. Ordered a drink and it took about 10 minutes to get. Asked for details on a specific drink mentioned on the menu because there's a whole section missing the ingredients and just has vague names. Bartender had no clue what was in it. Asked for our check and had to wait another 10-15 minutes. Very poor experience, small little restaurant with great potential. I've written about the little pasta purses filled with pear and gorgonzola, but tonight I stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered the Tony Montana roll. Really likes this place. Tables right across from the beach made for a nice beach ambiance with very good food. We got the octopus tentacle and shrimp tostones as appetizers, tostones were solid and the octopus was a stand out. Had the skirt steak with chimichurri as my entree which was cooked just right and very delicious. Service was a tad slow considering it was not that busy, but we definitely got friendly service. Welp! Wish I would of taken the empty restaurant as a hint. The food isn't bad it just isn't good or memorable. My bf has the burger as side it was fine. I had the crab cake burger and it sucked hard. You could tell it was frozen for a while, kinda cold in the middle. The bun looked nice but besides the they only gave me the sad ass crab cake and really vinaigrette claw that was really salty nothing more on it. The fries were a really small serving and just ok. My husband ordered the linguine served in a cheese wheel and I ordered the pear and Gorgonzola stuffed tortellini... wow. Both meals were phenomenal. We could not get enough, it was so good. I will tell you why and then why not? This spot of one of the best for people watching and views of the ocean. It is on the south end of restaurant row (which is in the middle of the Broadwalk. (Not boardwalk, as the city will remind you.) As such it is less crowded and has a great view of folks walking to the south or from the south. It's also great because those annoying tents in there center of the walk aren't blocking the view of the water. So, the ambiance is one of the better ones on the sand. The food is my meh. Lots of deep fried stuff. No substitutions. Nothing with remembering. The shrimp in bang bang sauce barely made a pop. I searched for the blue crab in the crab cake burger. I did see some flakes, but I think the crab got away. (The ketchup was spot on.) So go if you want to sit and watch. But, don't expect to remember the food. read more

Came here on a Friday night with a party of 4 on Presidents Day Weekend around 10pm. Was turned off by how unbearably loud the live music was but the hostess pressured us to have a seat. Pina Colada and Mojito were great! Caribbean Burger was unique and truffle fries were in point! Mahi Mahi was a pathetically small serving size and flavorless. Chicken parm was dry and sub par. Then we received the bill....we were up charged and deceived by our waitress at every possible opportunity. We were charged $6 for each bottle of still water, cocktails were significantly more than listed on the menu, and received an up charge for fries. We were very unimpressed with the slow service and deceit so we didn't plan on tipping well but a 18% charge was already included. We shared the discrepancies with the waitress and she said the price was correct even though the menu listed different prices and she wasn't forthcoming about the up charges. If you want your eardrums blown out and to overpay for subpar food then this place is your jam! Otherwise I'd suggest to keep looking. read more
