We just moved to the SOFLO area and finally hit this place. Our server Sonny recommended the mojitos and they were FANTASTIC! I also had the margarita and it was just as lovely. Sonny was personable, knowledgable and you can tell he enjoys his job which also made our experience more delightful. We shared the tuna tartar appetizer that comes with PERFECTLY fried plantains and it was absolutely mouth watering. We also shared the ribeye steak entree with truffle fries. The steak was SO juicy and the fries were dangerously addictive. We were even able to save room for desert and had a chocolate cake that was to die for. Location of this restaurant is great. Unfortunately, the food is subpar and when the waitress tells you what the special is, she doesn't explain the pricing we ordered the Bronzino fried for a whopping $140 then my called the next day to tell them, I think they made a mistake. She told me that I ordered the surf and turf and instead of lobster. I got Bronzino, which was totally inaccurate, they also don't tell you that so I left her $30 on top of the already included. The ambience is is more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Aside from the fact that I think there's a language barrier and all of the Spanish employees don't speak very good English. beware I'll never go back there again. I give you a few reasons Why NOT. I had high hopes for this place from the high ratings on yelp and google and basically decent reviews although you should read recent ones-seems like they might have changed management or chefs or something. The food was ok, but not good enough for those prices they are charging. It wasn't any better than an Applebees or a Chili's and at least those places are consistent and you know what to expect. The frito mixo the mahi mahi was dry-very amateur likely comes from over cooking. The oysters, $19 for 6, $31 for 12 were the worst Oysters I've ever had in my life. Completely tasteless. $1 bluepoint oysters I get in New York are much better and they are the cheapest kind you can buy. These should have been delicious at this price. The waitress didn't even know where they were from which doesn't surprise me, I doubt the owner does either. Their menus is all over the place: italian, seafood, sushi, Latin fusion...? Jack of all cuisines; master of none. Lobster Ravioli was decent but tasted like it does everywhere else and with fake lobster-not made in house. Drinks were the best part. They should just be a bar and sell cheap food. The music there was more for a party, not a nice meal. They are just all over the place. Hmmm Italian food sounds good, Why Not pops up, well why not we say and head there in an Uber. Imagine our surprise at being dropped off in a residential area just next to the beach. Confused we walk through a small square and voilà to the right a row of restaurants with Why Not nestled right in the middle. It was okay. The reviews had me pumped but the shrimp appetizer was way too fried. The sauce was just mayo. The bruschetta was good! My entree wasn't great I had the ribeye which I normally love but the fat and steak was so tough and lacked flavor. My fiancé said his was decent I think he got like a flank type steak. Coming from a non-seafood eater, this place is just okay. When I asked how big the flatbread was, she told me a small, personal size. I was very surprised when a full fledged pizza came out as an appetizer. My chicken fettuccine alfredo was okay, giving Olive Garden. My friends ordered sushi, which they deemed "pretty good" so if that is what you're looking for, this is your place. This is a special place because the menu and the food are of such high quality and imaginatively presented. I had the Finocchetti alle Pere E Tartuffo on the recommendation of a fellow traveler. She said it was one of the most delicious dishes she'd had ever--"memorable". I tasted the homemade pasta stuffed with pear in gorganzola truffle sauce and was just delighted. The restaurant is quieter and better decorated than most on the boardwalk, but I might never have found it and it so deserves an appreciative clientel! read more

We were a little put off because it looks like a hole in the wall & had a person standing outside handing out menus - usually a red flag for us. But we tried it anyway. We sat outside & Andrea our server was super nice & efficient. They moved the umbrellas around so we had shade - without us even asking which was nice. I had the shrimp tacos & hubby had the grouper sandwich. Both were amazing. Good combination of flavors, generous portions & cooked perfectly. Ordered a dozen oysters and the grilled octopus to start. Grilled octopus was delicious, however the oysters were terrible. Worst I've ever tasted. My buddy got the muscles and they were the smallest muscles I've ever seen. I ate one and it tasted like I picked up dog feces and threw it in my mouth. I had to spit it out.
