The Ricotta Gnocchi came after about 15 minutes and was deliciously creamy, and cooked perfectly where it was both tender and provided a chewy texture which we found enjoyable. The portion was on the smaller side which we were informed by our server. It also looked very pretty as well! The duck breast and the faroe island salmon both came after another 20 minutes, which took quite a while since they weren't really that busy at the time. The duck breast was tender with a crispy skin that was paired deliciously with its cherry jus, so I highly recommend getting that! However, the salmon was overcooked and quite bland compared to the other two, which was quite disappointing and left us feeling hungry despite spending over 100 for 3 dishes. Although we enjoyed some of their selections, the high price tag did not really justify both the ricotta gnocchi appetizer-like portion, and the underwhelming and bland faroe island salmon. The Roxy has potential of being amazing, so I hope they take into consideration this review to continue to improve and change up their menu. Their menu is ever evolving, so they're definitely worth a visit if their updated menu appeals to you! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

And as a bonus, it has not yet been "discovered" by the Yelp Elite / food influencer crowd (besides yours truly). The Alexandrian Style Shrimp was huge and delicious, but the Grilled Branzino (and really, any whole grilled fish) is the big, belting diva of the menu and one you should not miss. Whole, ground spices are packed into every bite care of lovely marinade, and your teeth will rejoice at how tender the meat is. Entrees all come with generous, complimentary portions of salad, tahini and pita, as well as lots of fluffy rice, so you can't walk away hungry. The prices are on the higher side, sadly--it seems nowhere is immune to inflation these days--but at least you'll get a ton of bang for your buck.

A Little Unassuming Gem for Alexandrian Food in JC…read more I found this place on a Eater Jersey City list and wasn't expecting much but the food was surprisingly delicious. The space is small, about 8 tables, with dated, seventies decor, complete with plastic on the tables. Only one woman in the kitchen. We had the grilled Orata, which came with rice, salad, babaganoush and tahini sauce, side of eggplants with peppers in tomato sauce and the Alexandria style shrimp. Everything was fresh, the fish grilled to perfection and the shrimp well-seasoned. There is also a sandwich menu, but it was not available that day. This place as all of the elements I love in small businesses; no pretention, no gimmicks and no "fusion"...just authentic, simple, home made food, from kitchen straight to my stomach with no orchestra and fireworks. My only gripe is that the prices are high but given that food costs have risen so quickly in the last few years, I completely understand.

On the happy hour, we started with the oysters - they were good, enjoyed them we got a second round. We got 3 apps for under $30. The crab cake was okay we thought we would get more than one (3 of us). We got the eggplant, we absolutely loved that! Lastly, the calamari was great. I love the type of breading they do for them. We wanted to try more food but we ran out of time. I would come back to try more. We mainly did the happy hour menu and they have great prices! Really cute place. . Overall I liked the food and will try to come again for more.

We didn't have a reservation, and walked in. Luckily we were able to grab a table. But the issue was that it was extremely hot and humid inside. it was like their AC was broken or simply wasn't turned on. The service was also pretty bad, the waiters forgot orders and or took a while to stop by our table. The biggest reason i gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars is the price of food, vs the quality and or quantity.... again, i didn't pay, but i ended up getting a lobster roll with some chips for $35 bucks, and the lobster roll was severely lacking. It was small, and i didn't get a lot of lobster meat on the roll. If i had to pay for it, i'd be pissed. i will have to say, the views are nice, if you are able to sit outside.
