I was really excited to try Wicked Craft as I've walked passed it many times and it looked really interesting. Overall, unfortunately, I was really unimpressed. The ambiance is fairly decent, I love the lights and such, but the tile ceiling and the street light glowing into the front plus the tv's at the bar throw it all off. It feels like it's a more casual place with some swanky dna. The drinks and food is presented really well, very Instagramable. But my cocktails were mostly ice, and the food was very mediocre. My entire group thought the same. The voodoo chicken sandwich wasn't spicy and it was really dry. The ciabatta was really tough and you get such a huge portion, you essentially get two sandwiches. It could use more sauce of some sort. The American cutlet was really an odd dish. The chicken was fine and there were a lot of veggies but the pasta was just plain, not sauce so I felt like the dish was unfinished, really didn't like it overall. Wicked Craft was a great option for our family weekend brunch with something for everyone to enjoy. The drinks tasted great and were strong. I would encourage reservations because they are small inside, but doesn't mean you can't snag a table if they're not too busy early on for brunch or dinner. Came to celebrate a friend's birthday after hearing many great things, but the experience was pretty mediocre. Food and drinks were presented well. Portions are pretty big too. I will say the food was okay and that this spot is more of a cocktail bar. Since we were there for a birthday, we brought a cake with us to celebrate. We were informed by the hostess when we sat that there is a $40 charge to serve/refrigerate the cake, along with "music and lights" - we kindly declined because that's ridiculous. And after seeing it done for another table - not worth it. We kindly declined the offer. After our dinner, we asked for utensils to eat the cake but they wouldn't allow us due to safety reasons that it wasn't refrigerated there. I understand the reasoning, however I've been to many reputable restaurants that haven't had a problem with bringing out cakes/refrigerating them for us (for minimal charge). Keep in mind we had plenty of time to eat. On top of that, when we were ordering he was rushing us so much and kept interrupting us and saying "yep yep yep" as we were speaking to him. It was rude, disrespectful, and disgusting. When our friend that showed up late ordered, he turned away so fast without letting the rest of us order entrees that she had to yell "wait they want food too!!" to our waiter, because he didn't even bother to ask. The food was great, don't get me wrong, delicious. But we had 10 minutes to eat it. We watched every employee talk to each other and point at us. The food was meh, except for the lobster roll!!! It was served with a lemon butter and was truly one of the best lobster rolls I have ever had. I'm not going to lie... Wicked Craft is a huge surprise to me. I came for the Mario Kart night and had zero expectation of this place having good food or strong drinks. Let me tell you right now... I was wrong about both. Let me start off by talking about the service. Steve the GM is an absolute gem. He's super communicative and you can tell that he wants every person that walks in there to have a good experience from the service they receive right when they walk in, to when you walk out that door. We also had Luis has our waiter who was extremely friendly, very on top of everything and FAST! This is definitely a smaller spot, but don't let that stop you. The vibe is immaculate. The music is loud and fun and the decor is trendy. Now let's get to the food. We saw chicken parm on the menu so obviously had to try. Again, we thought this would be just some trendy new spot in Boston with supbar food, but we were pleasantly surprised. I reserved a table here for 10/7 8:30 pm for 13 people. They required a $50 per person deposit which was $650 total. Started off great, but after a few sips of my second drink I quickly became sick and incapacitated. My drink clearly had been tampered with. I am a mature 51 year old who is not new to drinking and can handle more than 2 drinks. This totally ruined my daughter's birthday. I've gotten drinks here before, and I highly recommended this restaurant to my friend while we were planning a dinner during my visit to Boston. However, my experience was very different this time. When making a reservation, we were explicitly told we could come in at 7:00 for a window seat, or 8:30 for a table. If this restaurant claims a reservation only guarantees a spot in the restaurant, and not a specific table, then that needs to be communicated to the staff, so the customers understand this as well. If we were told we would be sitting on bar seats facing the window, we wouldn't have a problem. I also work in the service industry, so I'm very aware of how reservations work. When we were told the two empty tables needed to accommodate two parties of two, that was totally understandable. However, My restaurant also has window bar seats and tables. I always let my customers know when making reservations because it is two completely different experiences. Sitting at a window bar with three people makes it extremely difficult for the two people on the ends to have a conversation. Not to mention the people walking the streets and staring at me while I'm eating. All I'm saying is the communication we were given over the phone changed our dinner experience entirely. The food wasn't that great either, so there wasn't much to make up for. Our server was great, so I will say this restaurant has a fantastic team. I've seen the way the owner responds to negative reviews, including the one my friend had written who was with me when this happened. A simple apology on behalf of the staff's communication could've gone a long way. tldr: When dining at this restaurant with a party of three, be aware that you could be sitting at a window bar instead of an actual table. A great new addition to the North End area. Fun place for cocktails and food. First time I came here without reservations and we were able to be seated along the window. They have a super fun menu of drinks. We ordered the charcturie board to share and it exceeded my expectations. The presentation was on point with literally liquid nitrogen on the board. More importantly, it also tasted good as it looked! I loved the candied blue cheese. Both of us enjoyed our dinner entrees as well. I came back in the fall as their fall drink menu was amazing! What even is this place?! I should've known by the IG promo that this spot is not for the Over 30 crowd so let me warn us Olds and for the kids, y'all might like this. Walking in, I knew I had made a mistake. The music was bumping so loud I could hear it outside and the decor was like if a Rainforest Cafe was on Spring Break in Ft. Lauderdale. I had missed the (in)famous brunch so settled at the bar for the menu they serve between shifts. Solid list for midday, so I wasn't too mad. The drinks menu, however was a long list of concoctions that might not legally meet the threshold to be called "cocktails". Each drink was more sugary ingredients than the last with modifiers for colors and taste be damned. Your hangover will be double-damned, also. There was an extensive Shot List that was just the little brothers of the sugary drinks but everything was $15+! I asked the bartender where the whiskey was and they didn't have any save for one or two off-brand, flavored ones. At this point, is this age discrimination? I ordered wings (they have lots of flavors) and my friend ordered a chicken sandwich (news to us it was actually a double-decker). The food was actually pretty good, so props to them, there. I wasn't sure if all orders had to be placed at the bar or if that was my punishment for sitting there, but I don't think they did table side service at this hour. So I had to prepare for a lot of people elbowing in on my while I tried to be comfortable. That's not ideal. The music makes it so that everyone had to shout just to talk to their neighbors AND the severs. Thankfully, it quieted down after an hour or so as the spot transitioned to dinner. By then, I had had enough. The Espresso Martini was tasty, but might've actually not had enough booze. They were very accommodating-- they were able to make my drink only half spicy (I was scared of the ghost pepper tequila strength) and my friend's drink a mocktail.
