While in town, yall need to bring that booty over here and have a fancy dinner. Just be warned, the prices are steep. I came with 2 people for dinner on a Sunday night at 8 and it was packed. We had a 20 min wait. We grabbed a drink at the bar a d enjoyed the view. To start off, I highly suggest the grouper. This was phenomenal. We shared it between 2 people and had to force us to finish it. The serving was big, and it was filling. It was tender, with a slight crunch that mimics very well done calamari. The sauce has a slight heat too. I would eat this again and again. For an entree, I had the shrimp poboy. There was nothing traditional about it, but wow was it good. It was a great rendition of the new orleans treat. Overall the sandwich was dry and didn't have the correct sauce or fixings. However, it was a perfectly delicious fried shrimp short sub. The seasoned fries it came with were perfect too. Well wroth the $17 bucks or so. My friend had the crab cake sandwich. Fries also came with this. The crab cake was mostly crab meat, which was a steal. But I feel it was missing something. For me, it was texture. It was too moisture. It needed a bite. It was too soft. Maybe needed to be fried or baked better. Also, not thr correct sauce for it. While dining a photographer came to the table to take my photo, they give u a cool sample print of the photos to take home and can buy additional for $10. Yes I got sucked into that photo! Came here over vacation for lunch. To get the to restaurant, you climb some stairs (or elevator). Theres the restaurant and then a roof top bar. Before you go into the restaurant, you enter a shop that has a very interesting... smell. I mean I guess it makes sense since it's right at the fishing dock, but it wasn't fresh fish I was smelling. The restaurant is pretty clean and has cute decorations. Did not have time to go see the rooftop. Service was good. The waiter we had was very polite, attentive. When we ordered, the waiter said they did not have salmon..? But we were able to order salmon rolls... Food ordered * shrimp tacos. They were okay. Just really "saucy" for my liking. A lot of cold-slaw and avocado in the tacos * Shrimp Alfredo - Bland * Maryland crab cake sandwich * I forgot the name but it had shrimp? and rice looking dish * sushi rolls What we liked * fried calamari * fries * Mussels * sushi rolls. Standard mashed potatoes and seasoned veggies. Again the flavor was good but i left hungry. Good seating and service. For a place right on the beach and 3 story's up the view was obstructed by the window frames. You had to either stand up or crouch way down to see out the windows to the beach. Stopped in for happy hour on a Sunday. Happy hour is 4-7 daily in the rear deck bar. Small food menu and drinks are $ off. We tasted the tempura cauliflower, lettuce wraps, oyster Rockefeller and 2 sushi rolls. The food were decent portions and average flavors. Nice to look out over marsh and boat channels. The views and the atmosphere at Wicked Tuna are great. I've been at least 4 times now and have been happy with the food and service every time. Whether you eat upstairs or downstairs, you'll be able to enjoy a view of the beach, the ocean, and the pier. I have yet to be unhappy with something I've ordered from their menu, whether it was the Shrimp and Grits or something from their sushi menu. The servers are always so kind and happy to help. There were only a couple occasions where the wait time for our food was fairly long, but I would still definitely recommend this place if you've never been! read more

The view was GREAT! that was by far the best part. They say "hook to table" our fish, grouper "catch of the day", was not caught that day. How would I know? Because we deep sea fish, we shoreline fish, brother in law is a charter fishermen. That fish was not fresh! Not same day hook to table fresh. Normally, we love this place, however, we visited in December and we were scammed. We were there for happy hour and the bill came out to 136.00, however, when I checked my bank account later that week, we were charged 256.00!!!! We tried to dispute it, however, we couldn't find our receipt. The food that night was definitely not worth $256.00. The nachos that I got even had salsa that had gone bad. The salsa tasted acidic. I'm surprised I didn't get sick. I know they were about to close for the season, so maybe our waitress was trying to get an extra $100 tip since she would be out of work . So, I hate that we were scammed because we actually love coming to wicked Tuna. The ocean front view, the good food....I know that this was probably an isolated situation of wait staff needing extra money, however, the next time we visit, we will definitely make sure we pay with cash so that we are not scammed again. Just beware, and perhaps bring cash so that you are not scammed by the waitstaff. read more

We had reservations for 5 booked days in advance. When we arrived we were put in the back of the restaurant where the sun is literally beating on you. We all literally started sweating when sat down. I asked the hostess if we could move because of it. She said no all of the tables are booked out and that theres nothing they could do. How about not making a table in the back of the restaurants with no views of the ocean and not place people where the sun is DIRECTLY on them. Had the grilled seafood platter- it was my first meal in MB and it was a letdown. The service was fine, so were the drinks, the view was nice too. However, the seafood didn't taste fresh and came out of the kitchen freakishly fast. This is the second Wicked Tuna location. I reviewed the first restaurant location yesterday. Whereas the first Wicked Tuna is on a harbor, this one is on a pier offering broad unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean. Great atmosphere. Pier admission fee is $2, 50% off with a receipt from the bar or restaurant. There were a lot of fishermen on this pier and lady cleaning fish being caught. We saw several sharks and lots of Moon Jelly fish. We ordered a couple appetizers, which we dove into before o could take pictures. The Dragon Egg was interesting. Half an avocado stuffed with crab meat on a bed of sweet potato noodles and dressed up with spicy mayo. Tasty!! Oysters Rockefeller were excellent. The order comes with 5 oysters, not six. I'd order this again -- and two of them! One just for me. There's a vicious rumor that this location isn't as good as the original. I don't agree with this rumor. I can see how people can have favorite restaurants, whether by location or the memories of good times, but I found the food and service consistently good. read more

EXTRA CHARGES FOR EVERYTHING! Food was good. Server was friendly and knowledgeable; however, I was shocked when I got the bill. The 20% gratuity was charged (no surprise there) and on top of the gratuity was a Food/Wine/Beer tax of 13.8% - FYI - the standard rate for Myrtle Beach is 11.5%. The bill also had an extra charge for "Operations Fee." My initial bill was $67.50 (had Iced Tea rather than alcohol). With the additional charges of $24.88, the total cost was an outrageous $92.38!! You can bet your bottom dollar, I will not make a 2nd trip to The Wicked Tuna. read more

I would say that their food was decent for a touristy spot. It was also served very quickly and the service was great. The review rating is based on the extra charges. You should expect really big surcharges (separate from tip) having something to do with the fact that the restaurant is by the beach. read more

Gave Wicked Tuna a 1 because of the insulting hidden fees at the end of what was otherwise a nice meal. First time in South Carolina, here I had a plate of fried cauliflower because I was with a group who had multiple plates. Yes 16.00 for fried cauliflower seems like a lot, but it was good and the view nice. But, I was shocked when I saw my bill! Added a 20% gratuity- like the service or not- I liked the service, and this crazy other tax and operating fee? A nominal State tax I can understand, but then they through this on too, and then the restaurant makes me pay for them to operate? Should that be included in the 16 bucks for the fried veggies?? When I asked the server about tge "hidden fees" she said I was not the first to ask. Really, what a shock! Then she mentioned the included tip is listed in small print on the menu. This place is so fun. Be prepared to climb a bunch of stairs to get to the restaurant, but there is an elevator. It's fun to be up so high and being able to see down the beach and out into the ocean. Service was prompt. Our waiter was nice and attentive. My companion and I wanted to eat light so we ordered the Bang Bang Grouper and the Dragon Egg. They were both delicious no worth getting. I also ordered a Bahama Mama and it came in a cute pineapple. It was also delicious. We wanted to come back and order entrees because they also sounded quite good, but we never made it back. The view was amazing! We sat at a table close to the window looking out to the beach. While we waited for lunch we could people watch the beach which was nice. For the food I got the cheeseburger and fries. Very generous on the fries. Burger was a little over cooked for my liking had some burnt edges lol but overall was ok. For the service. It was pretty slow in the dining area so I wasn't sure why my server was missing often. I needed a refill and he wasn't nowhere to be found lol not a big deal but I was trying to wash down the charred burger lol. Highly recommend the sushi here, the other food was just OK. We came here for dinner on a weekday evening and loved being able to sit by the windows and look out onto the ocean. The place was fairly empty, but I think in the summer months you'd definitely need a reservation. For appetizers we tried the Wicked Tuna sushi roll which was fantastic -- honestly some of the best sushi I've had. For entrees we tried the Fried Seafood Platter, Fish & Chips, and Crab Cake Sandwich. The fried seafood platter was not tasty at all -- it was mostly a bunch of very tiny pieces of fish that were over fried. The flavor wasn't there at all. The Crab Cake Sandwich was great I would recommend getting this. Overall I'm not rushing to go back, but if I did, would probably just stick to the sushi. read more
