One of my favorite bars in Htown and the BEST patio bar I know. Great place to take friends, meet a date, or even go alone; the crowd and staff are very chill & welcoming (bonus: the patio is dog-friendly, so there are usually pooches to pet!) The cocktails are top-notch, beer selection is good, and the bartenders have humored me time and again when I want to try new things or have them mix up something different. Special shout out to Megan for 1) making a killer French 75 and 2) being friendly & genuine as hell. Events are frequent and interesting. I love bingo night here. Did I mention the bartenders being nice? I once skinned my knee while running up to the stage to claim my bingo victory... and to make me feel better, they gave me a free shot and some merch. Wicklow Heights is easily one of my favorite low key bars in Houston. I love the location, and the vibe here is so welcoming, it's a great place to come with a group or just hang out with your SO for a few hours. When the weather is nice the patio can't be beat, and they have plenty of TV's outside so you are guaranteed to see your favorite game on. This is a low key vibe that has an excellent patio space. There are lots of chairs, tables, fans, and a turf grass. There is a stage and behind it is a projector which will play sporting events from time to time. Steak night is Wednesday, which always presents an opportunity for a date night. They have a decent selection of draft beers and make some good cocktails. They have servers who will walk around. They can be a little inconsistent, but if timing isn't a factor, it's a nice service. I have had the pleasure of the bartenders making suggestions and explaining about the new beers they have on draft. Great ambiance inside and the patio area is very spacious. Cool bar with a hipster and happening crowd. I went there on a Friday night with a couple of buddies, and I noticed that the age range was from 25-50. The indoor is decorated cute (modern/contemporary), but the music was blasting so loud that I couldn't hear myself speak. I opted for the outdoor patio with bar stalls and bench seating. They had a live band playing while I was there and had several TV screens around the outdoor patio area. There's a wall to take photos against a backdrop if that's your thing. I ordered an old fashion and that drink had a punch for $11. I would definitely visit again as the ambiance was nice, and the drinks were strong. read more

Two hour line for crawfish. The once you order they give a pager and it's another 45 min wait. Three hours wait total. Then crawfish were super small. Size of my knuckle. And not hot. Corn and potatoes were great. Wind blew the tent over the crawfish station and hit me and other guest in line. No one asked if we were ok, They just scrambled to get the tent put away. The one thing I will say about this bar is the staff inside behind the bar is amazing. They are on point and attentive. I would like to try to go there when there is not an event. This bar was great! They had delicious cocktails and the service was fabulous. Very attentive waitresses. My only complaint is about the food truck and I realize that is separate from Wicklow Heights but they should really consider who they hire for food service. I did not pay attention to the name of the food truck, but the man taking the orders was extremely rude. He seemed very annoyed and put out by the customers ordering. By the time it was my turn to order, they closed the window and asked if we would wait a few minutes. Well, a few minutes turned into 15 minutes and by the time they opened the window he told us they were completely out of queso and chips. We wanted to order nachos so that was not an option anymore and he didn't even apologize for being out of the food. Mind you, it's only 5:30 pm at this point so the dinner rush had not even shown up yet. I love Wicklow heights but I will never use their food truck service again. I hope they see this and will be more careful of who they hire to serve food! read more

If I could rate this place as half a star, totally would. A friend and I came into this establishment a few days ago around 8pm. We stumbled upon Wicklow Heights going to Cedar Creek. We wanted to try something new so we went in. We seat ourselves and the waitress does not come around for a good 10 minutes. We let her know it was our first time there and asked her what the specials were. She mentioned the wine bottles here half off so we order and before we can give her our food order, she leaves. Comes back to drop off our wine and glasses, leaves again for another 20 minutes. After she came back, she tells us we can't order from the menu on the tables (which belong to Soul Taco) because it's Steak night. I wish she would have mentioned this to us when I asked her about the specials at the beginning of the evening. She bring us the menu but we never end up ordering because she never came back. Not sure if I was supposed to flag her down but we finished our wine bottle and had someone else close us out. Ended up going somewhere else for food/service. read more

Came here for Wednesday steak night and the food was amazing! The drinks were awesome, too. The outdoor area is kind of small but really cute and perfect for that area that seems to be up and coming. The service was good for the most part. Sometimes we felt it took a little while to get our order taken outside (and it was hot as hell out!) but there was only one server so I don't blame her. She was very nice and helpful. If you ordered inside at the bar, there was no wait or anything. The best part about this bar is that it's dog friendly so I made a lot of new dog friends! I love this cute cocktail bar in the Heights! They have a small indoor bar area and a bigger outdoor back patio that's dog friendly!! Drinks are affordable and they have a full bar with cocktails, beer, and wine. They don't have a kitchen but there's usually a food truck out front. The crowd is casual and all age ranges- I've seen people bring their kids here as well. The staff is friendly and welcoming! The crap they play doesn't fit the overall ambiance Wicklow seems to strive for. To give you an idea, at 4pm on a Friday afternoon you naturally would like to sit outside, enjoy the weather and a nice cocktail. Instead, you get the worst remixed-rendition of your least favorite song blaring in your ears as you think to yourself "why didn't I learn to read lips" while simultaneously convincing yourself that holding a conversation under water would be easier than trying to conversate at Wicklow. Super friendly group here. Stopped in randomly to get a couple beers and catch the last football game and I'm impressed. Kinda had an odd Sunday funday vibe but not a lot of people were out so the dj was trying to get the tone set but it's hard with not a huge headcount. The bartenders and other workers were very pleasant and happy to be around and quick with beverages. Overall the place was clean, hip, and reasonably priced. Came here cause I was with a group of friends who wanted to go here. I was very happy with their choice. It was fun. Bartenders are top notch and friendly. I never felt like I was being difficult or wasting their time. Quick service too! It was pretty relaxed when we first got there around 9 but the crowd def picked up by 11. Came to Wicklow's last night in a group of 4 for their Thursday night live music nights. There were skinny strawberry mules for drink of the day and yoyo's hot dog food truck outside. Because it was raining, they moved the music indoor, which got a little loud, so our friends sat outside on the patio where we could enjoy our hot dogs and talk while also hearing the music. We loved the atmosphere and the drinks. My strawberry mule wasn't too sweet and had real strawberry chunks. My fiance got the old fashioned which I usually think is too strong, but they made it just right! They also used a cool whisky ice cube, one of those huge ones that I found impressive! Haven't seen a bar use them ever. The atmosphere is chill, and I can't wait to come back to actually check out the patio because it's very spacious. Too bad for rain, but still had a great night at Wicklow Heights! read more

Super cute! Tons of parking which is always great in the notoriously difficult parking area of the Heights. Came for bingo night and was really happy with how much seating there was in the back. I'll start by saying it's a wonderful venue, but there are some critical customer service issues I've encountered: 1. I came here on a weekday with my wife and our baby for happy hour and, after confirming our baby was fine to come in despite the 21 year old age limit, we were off to a good start. I stood at the bar and waited for 15 minutes as customers arriving after us were served, and when my time finally arrived, it was a minute past happy hour. I asked the bartender to honor happy hour prices given what had transpired. He refused, said "that's how it is." We left. 2. We came back on a Sunday and were promptly refused service. The same infant they'd permitted in before was now not allowed in. Even after explaining that we'd been served there before, we were turned away. I respect the policy, I just ask that you're consistent so that I don't waste my time. Poor customer service and inconsistency, keep that in mind. Plenty of superior options in the near proximity. A MUST VISIT BAR! Met my cousin here for after work drinks casually, was cute in front & right when you walk in thought it was a cool hang out, but then when I walked in the back patio area WOW!! Seriously the best patio I have been to hands down in the heights. They even had a live guitar musician. I had the drink of the day: a skinny watermelon mule! (Ok shh I had 3 bc YUM). So I've been here twice now for people's birthday parties, and I've thoroughly enjoyed both nights I spent at the place. They let us reserve seats for the second birthday party, and I highly recommend doing that. The bar is mostly outside, so it's more of a good-weather kind of place. The drinks are well made and aren't unreasonably priced, an I find it a kind of classier relaxed place. Bartenders are friendly and good about getting to you. Also, at one of the parties, one of our friends got incredibly drunk. As in, belligerently/loudly drunk. Funny drunk, but too loud and acting weird. One of the bartenders came over and said he had to leave. I will give them credit though. Our drunk friend stayed another 10-15 minutes saying good-bye to everyone and taking his time. I know some bars would have brought overzealous muscle in after a few minutes and rushed him out the door. They were nice enough to just keep an eye on him and gently reminding one of us, his caretakers, that he needs to go. I found this to be incredibly professional of them in handling the situation, and completely understood why they gave our friend the boot. I appreciate y'all handling it so well. Overall, this is one of my new favorite Heights places, and is walking distance to a bunch of other bars if you want. I highly recommend you check it out! read more
