The food came very quickly in a nicely put together brown bag and the receipt tapped on the bag. The Chicago Dog was good, this was not mine, and the peppers were nice and spicy. I remember back in another lifetime that 'der Wienerschnitzel' was a welcome treat. It was a delicious relief from burgers. They have been around since the early 1960's and currently there are several locations in the LV area. Now that I'm vegan, they have not even been on my radar. I figured there was nothing there that I could eat. That is until now. Veggie Dogs: So I saw a TV ad referring to a new line of 'veggie dogs' at 'Wienerschnitzel'. I searched on line and could no find reference to them. It was not listed on the online ordering menu. I knew there was 'Wienerschnitzel...' location on Serene which is not far from me. So when I had a chance, I cruised by and saw a big sign in the window. I immediately ordered 2 'Chicago Dogs' at the drive thru window and took them home to check out. They also have a veggie 'Back yard Dog' and a veggie 'BBQ Dog'. I am going to try those very soon. Was it good??: I lived near Chicago for 5 months and there was a Chicago Dog and Italian Beef joint right next to my apartment. Those were world class 'Chicago Dogs'. I wake up dreaming of the experience. So that is my reference point. Well, the Veggie dogs here at 'Wienerschnitzel' are not the real thing but they are pretty good when eaten warm. There were 2 hot peppers that I removed. A large pickle, lots of diced onion, mustard and ketchup, and tomatoes. A nobel effort but what I'm happy about is that these even exist. Inexpensive, tasty, maximum toppings, and a very realistic meatless hotdog. It was over all a 5 Star hot dog experience. Perhaps something only a vegan will appreciate...IDK...but I was satisfied. It is so nice to have another Vegan fast food menu addition. I love it when restaurants have a good viable vegan option. I know I'll being back soon. Worth checking out for sure. Wienerschnitzel is clearly under rated. This place is a sleeper. I went back and tried the 'Backyard veggie dog' and the '. 'BBQ veggie dog'. Both were great. I'm going back for vegan hot dogs and 'Tastee Freez' ! The Tastee Freez soft serve- chocolate dipped cone is a great retro soft serve cone experience. Very nice indeed. read more

Just got home. Ordered 2 kraut dogs and 2 Chicago dogs with 1 chili cheese fries. Wife and I splitting them. Her kraut dog had some kind of wood, toothpick small piece inside of it... she threw out the dog and moved on to the Chicago dog. 2nd bite had a piece of hair in it.... Today I stopped at Wienerschnitzel that I've been driving past for a year. I've always heard about their "world famous" hotdogs so today I decided to stop in and see what the hype was about. I ordered the "Deluxe" hot dog that comes with pickle, onion, tomato and mustard. It wasn't what I had envisioned and to be honest it looked like a "struggle meal" when I got it. The combination was surprisingly good although next time I'll get the all beef hot dog instead. The bun was cold, it would have been nice to have a warmed bun. The milkshake stole the show here. You would think I would of learned my lesson. Last time I came in ordered chili dogs for the family I was charged for cheese after saying no cheese and had to stop and get dinner at Wendy's after realizing my order was messed up and threw them out. This time I'm was asked to repeat my order three times and I had the lady repeat it back to me. I was given fries I didn't order and when I told them I didn't order them they told me it came with the burger I ordered (what!?! I ordered a kids cheeseburger not the meal with meat and cheese only and was charged 5.99 per fake receipt) they just took them out of the bag. I drive off and am missing five chili dogs. I go to the door it is locked knock on the glass door nothing walk around to the drive through window and let them know I was missing 5 chili dogs so they look up my order and say they didn't charge me for them so i ordered and paid for five chili dogs and I asked for my receipt for both my orders and a number to contact the manager because the store number doesn't work. I'm given the missing five chili dogs and one receipt. I requested the other receipt again and was asked again what I ordered and what was in the bags in my car 3 times mind you I'm standing outside in the sun 100+ degrees. The lady who is clearly upset with me because I want a receipt for want was charged to my card retyped the order and gave me a new receipt that didn't total what was charged to my card. I gave it a 3 because the food is always pretty good for fast food ok maybe just the chili cheese fries but a 1 for the drive thru service. (I grew up on this as a child and now it's a treat for me as it's not the healthiest) As I went up to the window the cashier said my total gave her my card and she took care of the transaction. I asked for 2 forks and napkins which she provided but I got no hi welcome as I pulled up, no response for my request of utensils, and no your welcome when I said thank you after I was handed my bag of food. I know sometimes people have bad days but at least try to pretend you like your job when working at a fast food joint.
