Our good friends are members here while my wife and I are members at Ponte, next door. We did a joint Saturday visit to pick up our latest club selections and did the bulk of our tasting at Wiens. The place is quite large giving us many options to enjoy our tastings. Inside, outside, picnic areas, grass, shade, sun, members only, general public, full dining, etc. We chose an outside covered deck in the members area as they allowed us to set up our own picnic while being served our tastings. Christina was super friendly and helpful and served us for over 3-hours. After a while, it got really warm on the patio, even with the misters going, so we moved inside to the air-conditioned members building and kept enjoying our visit. Their wines are delicious and my favorite was the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. "Blueberry Preserves, Snickerdoodle, Smooth Tannins" is the description and it was quite enjoyable. I came to Wiens for my first wine tasting ever and it was an amazing experience! I never knew what wine I would enjoy, but Brynn walked me through the menu and made the experience very personalized. Brynn's service was absolutely great and I ended up purchasing my first bottle of wine! I was nervous not knowing anything about wine, but she was so kind and patient, helping a beginner like me. Had a great time wine tasting with my husband in Sunday. Rose, our server, was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and gave great recommendations for the tasting. She truly was passionate about the wines and made the experience that much more fun. Plus the wines we tried were delicious. The outdoor patio was kid and dog friendly. They even have a book club! Awesome spot to help highlight the efforts of rescue organizations, such as California Paws and Southern California Bull Terriers Rescue. Very pretty winery ! Our friends have been members here so it's always nice to come taste for free lol Wines here are very good, they have a great selection of reds and whites . No food but snacks for purchase. Charcuterie boards etc . Nice indoor high tables and lots of outdoor space. Making a reservation is highly recommended as they open at 10:30 and it does get very busy . We purchased a bottle of Solace white wine, very good. We also purchased a cab , grapes were from Paso :) Very good cab. Looking forward to next time . read more

Stopped on a whim to try a new winery in town and was very satisfied with their selection! I also want to give a shot out to Kevin! He was spectacular with customer service. Attentive and professional. Someone give this guy a raise yay! But seriously one of my favs in town! Great flavors for everyone and a pizza truck was out front too. You can sit indoors or out and looked kid and pet friendly which is a plus. read more

I've been here a few times and after going back I have to ask myself why I waited so long since last time? I stopped in alone killing time while I waited for a friend to get into town thinking of enjoying a glass outside under the awesome patio. I ended up staying inside and tasting instead while having nice conversations with several of the staff members. Everyone working there was super nice and friendly. I really enjoyed several of the red wines. It was hard to choose a favorite but the Red Crowded was definitely in my top choices. I work at another winery in town and have been sending people over to you guys left and right! read more

I recently returned to Wiens Cellars for a wine tasting after some time away, and I've always found their wines to be really good and well-crafted. As an Italian Wine Specialist (and someone whose life revolves around wine), I can be pretty picky, but they never disappoint! This time, I noticed they have a new food partner, and OMG--the food was simply amazing! Authentic, flavorful, and comforting Italian dishes (and trust me on this too, since I was born and raised in Italy). The Lasagna are spot on!!!! and now my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Wiens is great! My husband and I stopped in before the holidays to grab our SIP Wine Passport and weren't planning on doing a tasting, but decided to stay because it looked cozy. It was pretty busy (or maybe they were just short on staff because of the holidays), so they gave us each a complimentary pour while we waited to start the tasting. When we did begin, the person who helped us was friendly and knowledgeable. It about an hour for us to sip our way through six or seven tastes and we enjoyed everything we tried. They had a food truck on site that was serving Mexican bites - it smelled delicious! We decided to hop to the next spot, but left with a great impression of Wiens. Reds are the way to go when you visit! read more

Our server , Crystal , was so light - hearted and sweet . We enjoyed deje 20.00 sampler and she even through in one free taste. I'm not even a huge fan of reds and the reds absolutely were incredible . My boyfriend loves reds as he can confirm . Worth the 20.00 for the flight of 6 one ounce pours . Food was amazing, they have different food truck vendors every week however so far every time we've stopped by it's been delicious. Live music on Sundays at 2pm is always the perfect tune and volume in the background at the perfect temp. Sam was our server at our visit and she was super friendly. Absolutely loved her, she will be the reason we are back! She had the best recommendations and explained the flavors with excellent detail. I've been to a few wineries and although I can't by any means call myself a wine connoisseur, I can definitely say that their wines are sub par. We came here for a Missing Persons concert and not sure if they didn't offer all their wines, but their selections were poor. It also took quite a long time for the band to come on. After waiting for almost 2 hours, they finally came on. It seemed like the event was not well organized. We waited VERY long for the band to come on and many were not happy. I will say, there was ample seating and the outdoor space was decent, but for being a winery, the selection and quality of wines were subpar. read more

What a wonderful experience! I'll start by saying that Brynn - our wine specialist - made our day a special one! She was so genuine, knowledgeable, kind, and playful. We all enjoyed interacting with her, and she made what was a birthday celebration for my uncle truly memorable. We arrived to check in and had made a reservation in advance for 5 of us to enjoy a scheduled standard tasting. (We were not a walk in party.) We were shown to our table and warmly greeted by Brynn who immediately made us feel welcome and began answering our questions and guiding our decisions in selecting the various options. I was impressed by how many options I had to select from for our tasting and we received 6 pours! And what a beautiful room, with wine barrels lining the walls and cool air conditioning. Later that afternoon, we were also entertained by some live music that was a lovely addition. We did bring our own picnic with us, and that was an additional reason we were excited to try Wiens because we could bring our own cheeses and other goodies. They also offered a menu and food truck. By the end, one of us decided to become a member, and I feel that's a testament to the awesome experience Brynn created for us and the quality of the wine. read more

We became Wine Maker Select club members a little over a year ago. Living in the Phoenix, Az area, Wiens has become our Graceland of wine that is a quick 6 hour drive from home. This makes it the perfect weekend trip for the adults. Being Winemaker Select club members has so many perks. We get free daily tasting in their standard tasting room. Naturally we take advantage of that all 3 days we are in town. However it's the Cellar tasting the we get every two months that keeps us coming back. Normally the Cellar tasting is held in their beautiful cellar room. However with COVID it has been moved outside on the patio for the last year. During the summer it got a little hot on the patio but Wiens did their best to cool everyone off. During the winter they had heaters to keep everyone warm. At the Cellar tasting you get to sample all of Wiens best wines. They pair those amazing wines with cheese and salami. It's such a fun experience. read more

We are Southern California's premier winery & tasting room. We are open daily for tastings and offer award-winning red, white, and sparkling wines!

History

Established in 2000.

We began with a vision – create high quality, hand-crafted California wine from vine to glass. Upon planting our first vineyard by hand in 1996, our connection to the process deepened & that vision evolved. Five varietals became twenty-seven, one employee grew to more than fifty, and one 14-acre vineyard became over 150 acres of hand-cultivated vines. As our ambition expanded, so did our membership. A new family formed from the business & our connections became infinite. Mark and David Steinhafel, a father and son team, were searching for a shared business venture and through this process found Wiens Family Cellars. From the initial winery estate visit, they were impressed by the range and the quality of the wines, the expertise and passion of the staff, and the tasting room and production facilities. The Steinhafel family acquired Wiens Cellars in 2022 and continues to build upon the strong legacy the Wiens family built for over 20 years.

We've done group wine tours before and while large groups can be fun, this time we wanted something private and a little more pampered, and that's exactly what we got. From the very first contact, Sue was amazing. While I had pinpointed a few wineries we were interested in visiting, she asked thoughtful questions to make sure she could create the exact experience we were looking for. She then took care of everything, essentially acting as our personal coordinator for the day. Sue arrived promptly at the bed and breakfast in a luxurious Denali stocked with bottled water, and our day began. Our first winery was Danza del Sol, where we enjoyed a private patio tasting with our own sommelier. Granted, it was early in the day and still early in the year, but I actually highly recommend that timing (the off-season) if you truly want to learn about wine. We were able to ask questions and learn so much. As we enjoyed a special food and wine pairing that Sue had arranged, overlooking the vineyard, we toasted to what was already shaping up to be a perfect day. Our next stop was Altisima, where Sue had arranged a beautiful lunch with a stunning view. We tasted five wines during lunch and ran a little behind schedule for our next stop, but that was no problem at all, Sue simply called ahead and took care of everything. On the drive between wineries, the conversation flowed easily and Sue shared interesting background about the area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Our final stop was Doffo, where we explored part of the "Motodoffo Collection" (vintage motorcycles and memorabilia) before settling onto a quiet patio as the sommelier brought out our tastings. It was the perfect ending to the day. At each winery, Sue took photos for us, guided us through the property, and introduced us to our hosts. It was obvious she had wonderful relationships with everyone involved. It was also clear she had told each winery that we were celebrating my husband's birthday, because at every stop he received a special treat: sparkling wine, churros, and even an extra taste of port. Sue drove us back to the bed and breakfast and told me to text her if we needed any recommendations during the rest of our stay. And I did! The next evening we wanted to go out for dinner, but many places close early in the area. Sue texted me three restaurant recommendations; but she didn't just send the names, she sent the menus for each one. One of my favorite quotes is, "Go the extra mile, it's never crowded." Sue truly lives by that philosophy. She and Tour del Vino are in a class of their own. On a 5-star scale, I give Tour del Vino a 10.

We recently visited WEINS Family Winery on a Friday night with friends visiting from South Carolina. Having raved about WEINS, we were excited to share what we thought would be a relaxing evening of wine tasting. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. Though the weather was nice, we had to sit inside to enjoy the music, which was only playing indoors. The tasting room was extremely crowded, and despite it being a busy Friday night, there were only two staff members working--a server and one person behind the bar. We purchased a tasting, but two hours into our experience, we had only tried 4 of the 8 wines. The server did not offer any descriptions of the wines and would come by every 30 minutes to ask what we wanted next. By 7:15 p.m., with half of our tasting still left, we were asked what we wanted to "finish off with." It felt rushed and unprofessional, especially with a manager noisily stacking chairs and sweeping while the music was still playing. The musician wrapped up around 7:30 p.m., and though the winery is open until 8:00 p.m., we felt pushed out and were unable to finish our tasting. Not once did the server apologize for the delays or the incomplete experience. We had arrived at 5:00 p.m.--ample time to finish a tasting--but poor service made that impossible. This was an embarrassing experience to share with our friends, especially since it was their first winery visit. We had planned to purchase bottles of our favorite wines, but due to the slow service and lack of attention, we left disappointed. The server simply collected our tasting cards with only 4/8 tastings completed. It's clear WEINS needs more staff on busy nights to ensure guests have the enjoyable experience they expect. We hope this feedback encourages improvements because this was a far cry from the exceptional experiences we've had in the past. read more

My sister is a wine club member here and took my mom (myself and siblings included) here for Mothers' day and we did a tasting. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I don't know if they normally do tours here, but I asked for one since my mom doesn't go wine tasting often. The gentleman who took us on the tour was very charismatic and took the time to explain every process of the wine-making to us. The lady who did our tasting was very personable and made very good suggestions for our different palates. One of my sisters and I like dry reds, while my mother and other sister prefer wines on the sweeter, lighter side. At the end of our wine tour, the guy who took us on the tour explained the benefits of upgrading my sister's wine club membership but was not pushy at all. I really liked that he just left it open-ended. Beautiful tasting room, and I also forgot to mention that they allowed us to try a couple of the wines in progress (from the steel tank AND the oak barrel!) All-in-all, a great experience and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Temecula. Love. read more

My wife and I decided to try a new winery last Tuesday and found ourselves at the beautiful Wiens Cellars. After nearly five years of living in Temecula, we're always excited to discover new spots, and this one did not disappoint! Scott guided us through a fantastic tasting that we shared, and we were truly impressed by their selection. Their reds are complex and delicious, their whites are crisp and refreshing, and there's something enjoyable for every palate in between. The staff was warm and welcoming, making the entire experience even better. Though we didn't get a chance to explore the indoor space, the outdoor seating area was spacious and inviting--we're already looking forward to coming back and enjoying it. We are club members from Temecula that went to Wiens 8/3/14 around 2:30 pm and were having a good time with family until Jason K. (see his review) and his group of 13 arrived in their limo. Several of his guests were drunk and obnoxious and were refused service and then they became very belligerent with the staff. When they decided to leave several of the guests sitting outside, including ourselves, started clapping and then a few of Jason's group started getting belligerent with us. I can't talk highly enough about this winery, along with its employees... Best winery in the Temecula Valley, for wine quality as well as knowledgeable servers. The Reds are better than any in this area! It's an awesome place to bring your family as well, because they allow kids in the tasting area, as well as having a large outdoor area for the kids to play and run around in. Every server there can answer any specific questions pertaining to the wine . I have had the chance to be served by many of them, from Lisa to Joel to Mike to Katherine and beyond... What a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the Petit Syrah definitely our favorite wine! Britt was incredibly friendly, made us feel right at home, and took great care of us, even though it was our first visit. The pizza was simply incredible--honestly the best we've ever had, including in Italy. We ordered a Margherita and one with wild mushrooms, and both were exceptional. The whole experience felt like being in Tuscany, enjoying fantastic wine with authentic Italian pizza. We can't wait to come back! read more

I give short reviews so here it is... ehhhhhhh Personally Im over Temecula wineries throwing a crap ton of money into lavish tasting rooms to attract tourism. I feel like temecula is turning into another Solvang, California. I wish Weins had offered our large group a more personal experience like we requested rather than just a pour and buy bar situation.. Wines were good.. a little harsh for my taste but thats just my taste and everyone is different. I wish they had let there Zin Reserve age a little more. 3 stars. read more

My wife and I have been members here for a few years and enjoy every single visit. They definitely have some of the best reds in wine country. We make it out to Temecula about once a month and love checking out the new releases. On weekends the barrel room is open to club members and they have cheese and crackers available as well. It's nice that they they have a huge open patio so we're able to relax outside when it's not too hot. We've checked out multiple wineries but nothing comes close to Wiens. read more

This winery is one of the busiest in Temecula, but for good reason. Their wines are incredible and the people they hire are even better. Although the tasting room is often crowded, they still make you feel at home and will make room for you at the tasting bar. If you have the chance to visit James (or Jim once you've had wine together) you will not be disappointed. He is studying for his Sommelier for fun and has a true passion for the wines he is pouring. read more

Things have really changed at Wiens. We have been members since before Covid. After Covid, it's been an entirely different experience. Part of that can be explained by the ever changing staff! I don't know what that's all about, but every time we returned, it seemed like we were looking at an entirely new staff. Wine is still very good, but the service has suffered a great deal. Not bad, but it was great before. Not great anymore, that's for sure. read more

Oh do I love myself some champagne (sparkling wine in ca) or whatever. This place has this bubbly orange champs that is to die for. I can't really do reds, as migranes will set in quickly. We are members to the wine club and we get free tasting every time we go for ourselves and 2 guests! Can't beat that right? Staff are all super friendly and that's another reason we always go back. Very nice place to visit. read more

At first they tried to seat us outside on tall top tables that would not work for wheel chairs. We were then moved to the way outback corner of the property with filtered shade and some misters. No help arranging table and chairs. Meanwhile they never offered to seat us in the air conditioned space when they could have easily accommodated our group. We then discovered that there are no food servers-you have to order food at the bar and then someone eventually delivers it in phases. Plastic hardware, condiment packages. There are MUCH better places to enjoy in Temecula.

The staff worked with us to find the wines that best fit each of our pallets. My mom loved their Chardonnay and Reisling, while I loved their Reisling, Chardonnay and Cab Franc, plus many others. We walked away wine members in September of 2025. Angie was absolutely amazing!!! She heads the wine club, and was incredibly understanding when it came to the fact that we live in a "hot state" and shipping is difficult during the bulk of the year. My mom and I make trips twice a year to Temecula and try and pick up all of membership shipments during those trips. Angie has been more than accommodating about this. They recently rolled out their new red and white sangria, which took up a lot of their storage floor space. But Angie made surr to keep or wines stored for us. I have had other wineries push for shipping despite being less than optimal temperature and weather. But Angle will not compromise on the quality of their wines. Every week a news letter gets published showing what food and entertainment will be happening. And, if anything changes, you can could on Angie and her crew keeping you posted. When we walk in to Julie's Dream, we feel like we are home and part of the family. If you haven't been to this amazing Vineyard, give it a shot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Based on some decent reviews, we tried it out. Ample parking, a handful of electric vehicle charging areas, and a nice/inviting atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and some fun and games on their themed nights. The venue is family owned and operated (although we didn't meet Jordan, his mom was onsite to chat with guests). There were two other associates pouring in the tasting room and they greeted us warmly upon entering. We ended up doing a tasting of 6 of their wines ($25 fee): 2021 Grenache, GSM, 2018 Field Blend, 2020 Tempranillo, and Dessert Syrah. The staff was well versed on each of the wines poured, and I actually got to try a taste of the Sangrias. I preferred the white sangria since it was very refreshing and easy to drink. My husband really liked the Field Blend, so we opted to bring that home with us. It was reasonably priced at $40. We didn't purchase any of the snacks or food as accompaniment to the wine pours ( the charcuterie board, chips, other savory options and some sweet options too). The staff member did tell us that there were some great food options available in the area, so we just decided to focus on what was in the area, outside of this venue. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as clean and rustic looking outdoor bathrooms. The decor is pretty industrial style meets cozy and casual.
