First timer! Loved it!! My BFF and husband treated me to a day of wine tasting and it was amazing. However my friend is a regular and was disappointed with the barrel room. There was only one gentleman working and service was pretty slow. He would leave the room to serve tables one at a time or to go get our Charcuterie etc. She felt we didn't get the full experience for prior visits. I agree on the service definitely. read more

Ambiance: 4* Service: 3* Food: 3* This place is great for red wine. Excellent offerings, best in the valley. This place also gets packed, so service falters at times. Plus, unless you are a club member (which we are) the service is somewhat dismissive. They definitely want you to buy membership. They just started offering small food options, but you can bring your own. That is what makes it 5*. Great wine and bring your own food. read more

Great wine, great atmosphere, great member benefits. We spent the day shopping for a new winery...Wiens was a great start to our difficult day of wine tasting and decision making! Service was a little awkward at first...not sure what the vibe was about, but it immediately turned once we started asking about membership. We got a tone of great information and the intimacy of the tasting made it out to be quite the fire starter for the day! We have not signed up with anyone yet, but we will be back for our 2nd evaluation very soon! read more

My friend brought me here a while ago (summer of 2025), and we had a nice time on their outside patio. I opted for a glass of their Albarino, which I found to be refreshing and crisp. Sadly, we discovered that several in our party were overcharged on the advertised (they had a sign on the patio advertising a special wine price) wine, and the people inside argued with them about it. Really? There was a sign on the patio, five feet from our table... Shortly thereafter, the misters 'failed' (that's what the staff told us), and there was no breeze or fan on a mid-90s day. So we sweltered for a bit, before heading off. I felt that the behavior of the winery staff was unprofessional, arguing about their own posted advertisement, and brushing my friends off about the charges. This location is not somewhere I'm interested in returning to, as there are so many great wineries in Temecula. If you choose to come here, CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. read more

The atmosphere is beautiful. More than 80% of the staff are friendly. However, when we got our membership, they were allowing dogs to come into the winery. They have no longer allowed them, so we've canceled our membership. read more

It's a great winery. Lots of open space; indoor and outdoor. Very family friendly location. They had a singer for people outside and taste and relax. The people are extremely friendly and gave great information on the wines. Just had an amazing tasting. And would love to go back and taste again. read more

My friend is a member of the wine club & he wanted to have a lil birthday get together here. He set up 'an experience' in the tasting room for us all - charcuterie, about 7 different wines, & time to savor each. The room was dim & it was nice to be surrounded by barrels of wine from floor to ceiling! After the formal/ official tasting, we moved to the patio, where we had more wine tasting, chatting, & even live music! The nice thing about this particular winery is they allow you to bring your own food to enjoy with their wines on the patio. Altogether we bought about 2 cases of wine - it was such a nice experience & they have lovely staff... great way for them to sell all that vino! read more

My BFF is a wine club member and he took me for a nice wine tasting. We loaded up on snacks, treats, water, etc., since you are able to bring your own food and use their tables. The grounds are beautiful and you can choose to sit inside or outdoors on the patio. When we went it wasn't busy, but towards the afternoon, it did get busier. It was hot the day we came, so perhaps it deterred many people from visiting. Tasting are roughly $30 for 5 or 6. Ours were free being a wine club member. You also get discounts if you are to buy wines on site, which we did. We truly enjoyed sitting out on the patio with our charcuterie foods and the flow of wines. Our server was great and checked in on us often. This is a wonderful place to wine taste and to bring your picnic items! read more

Popular winery w great events! Good ruby port! Great friendly staff! Used to have $7 fridays til 8pm but changed it to Wednesday ‍..dogs r allowed but keep em on ground not laps! Several bar ish counters inside and outside! Tables in and out but don't move them together for large parties. Food truck usually on premises and can order pizza as well! We came in during the week to explore a few Wineries in the area and ended up at Wiens. Came in around 4:30pm and the indoor tasting area was still packed, which is great for a Monday. We sat at the bar for a tasting and maybe it's because they were so busy but it was hard to have a conversation or ask questions to our server. We normally like a more laid back vibe where we can learn about the wine and the vines, but our server would come by, ask what we want, pour, and leave. They have a very extensive wine list with many varieties so anyone can get lost in the list for better or worse. You would hope that with an extensive list, you would find one wine you would like. I don't know if we could say we found one we liked from them. Wine is highly subjective, so maybe we just weren't a big fan of what they produced. They have a few wines from their vineyard that used to be a horse sanctuary, and you can taste that...I know a lot of people love this spot. I will just say that it's not for me. read more

This was my first time and our friends are longtime members! Megan was utterly delightful and gave us whatever we wanted to try! She couldn't have been friendlier even though she was managing a lot of tables! I had never tried their wines before and I was a fan of every single one! How often does that happen? Never! I just had to get a bottle of there, delectable Sauvignon Blanc! Now, if only I can get to it before my husband does! Next time, we will go to their barrel room when it is opened! We love and appreciate good wine and Wiens (pronounced Weans) definitely has it. Without a doubt, the best wine we have had in Temecula to date. Absolutely the place to go for red wines in the Temecula Valley. Although the Vermentino (an Italian white varietal) was excellent, too - we purchased two bottles. Our favorite red was the L'Autonomie - a Bordeaux blend - got 2 bottles of that, too. But we also loved the Red Crowded - a mostly Sangiovese blend, the Reserve Cab, Reserve Malbec, Reserve Petit Sirah and Bare Knuckle Petit Sirah. Actually their new Reflection - Sangiovese, Cab Sauv- was also really good. Definitely a must stop at all future visits to Temecula. Our server Jade, was so friendly and just a wonderful person. And our server Scott was extremely knowledgeable and personable as well. Absolutely recommend! read more

Jack made the experience!!! We arrived on a warm Saturday excited to taste wine. We parked easily in the lot, and headed inside. Our door was opened by a kind greeter and once inside two gals greeted us. We paid for our tasting and found a spot inside for our tasting. Jack greeted us and explained the wines beautifully. He took his time with us and knew so much about each wine offered. We enjoyed our tasting and Jack really made the experience memorable. I highly recommend tasting (they have so many fun selections to choose from) and their wine club felt friendly and accommodating. Thank you Jack for making our experience extra special! Haven't been here in 10 years and now we know why. They don't have any food. Pizza truck on Mothers Day ran out of food at 2pm right when we got there. It was supposed to be open until 5pm. -1 star. The rest of the day was great, jenga was fun, and the combo red wine was the best red I may have ever had. read more

After many visits to Temecula, I had never stopped in. My oh my I am happy I did on this visit. I ended up visiting two days in a row!! As a wine retailer, I could not get enough of their reserve wine. Abel in the tasting room seriously made my day. He was incredibly kind friendly and community oriented - I ended up making friends with the folks beside me. Silvana and Donna were qually kind, welcoming, and made me feel like I'd been visiting there forever. All of us ended up coming back the next day for a reserve tasting (they were members) with Spencer in the barrel room. AS A WSET WINO, HE (his knowledge) and the WINES were VERY IMPRESSIVE. I can't wait to return on my next visit. read more

The service is exemplary! It was very busy when we went but we were served right away. They did a good job explaining each wine and did a fantastic job recommending wines for our pallet. The venue is nice and very on brand for a winery. Our only very minor complaint was the wine was just slightly more expensive than we would have liked but they do have clubs and deals that I'm sure make it more competitive. read more

We are Southern California's premier winery & tasting room. We are open daily for tastings and offer award-winning red, white, and sparkling wines!

History

Established in 2000.

We began with a vision – create high quality, hand-crafted California wine from vine to glass. Upon planting our first vineyard by hand in 1996, our connection to the process deepened & that vision evolved. Five varietals became twenty-seven, one employee grew to more than fifty, and one 14-acre vineyard became over 150 acres of hand-cultivated vines. As our ambition expanded, so did our membership. A new family formed from the business & our connections became infinite. Mark and David Steinhafel, a father and son team, were searching for a shared business venture and through this process found Wiens Family Cellars. From the initial winery estate visit, they were impressed by the range and the quality of the wines, the expertise and passion of the staff, and the tasting room and production facilities. The Steinhafel family acquired Wiens Cellars in 2022 and continues to build upon the strong legacy the Wiens family built for over 20 years.

One of the biggest appeals is its peace, quiet, and the open back patio that overlooks acres and acres of vineyards. The room itself was spacious with a huge king-sized bed. The bathroom was also big with both a tub and shower. Other amenities included a pool, a restaurant on-site, and complimentary shuttles to other wineries in the area. They also offer hot air balloon and spa packages. The only thing was that the fridge was not that cold so our water and food weren't very cold overnight. The tasting room is on-site closer to the front of the property and when staying at the resort you get $5 off their wine tasting ($30 for 5). Last time I was here was probably 12 years ago, and WOW has this place changed. It's basically the Disneyland of wineries now! There's a mimosa station when you arrive, wine tastings in the main building, cabana-style seating on the lawn, and tables and chairs almost everywhere you look. They also have an onsite grille restaurant, wine clubs, tours, and the cutest little shop inside. The property itself is beautiful with tons of photo spots, vineyards you can stroll through, and even a little man-made lake that gives the whole place a whimsical feel. There's also a ballroom with a huge projector where we watched the World Cup game! And random but important... bathrooms everywhere. The dress code is super chill here! It was HOT when we visited, and I even saw guys walking around in flip-flops, so definitely dress comfortably for the weather. They even have a shuttle that picks you up and drops you off at the parking lot! It comes around about every 15 minutes, and tips are welcomed. Our shuttle driver told us Wilson Creek has a contract with Disneyland, where they sell their infamous Almond Champagne, and you can also find some of their champagnes at Ralph's! The staff were all super friendly! For tastings, you purchase a tasting card at the register and then belly up to the wine bar to choose your pours. You can also just grab a glass or bottle of wine, and they even have beers on tap! You can get married here, host an event, grab food, spend the day wine tasting, or just hang out and enjoy the property. It's seriously such a happening place and we can't wait to come back!

We recently visited WEINS Family Winery on a Friday night with friends visiting from South Carolina. Having raved about WEINS, we were excited to share what we thought would be a relaxing evening of wine tasting. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. Though the weather was nice, we had to sit inside to enjoy the music, which was only playing indoors. The tasting room was extremely crowded, and despite it being a busy Friday night, there were only two staff members working--a server and one person behind the bar. We purchased a tasting, but two hours into our experience, we had only tried 4 of the 8 wines. The server did not offer any descriptions of the wines and would come by every 30 minutes to ask what we wanted next. By 7:15 p.m., with half of our tasting still left, we were asked what we wanted to "finish off with." It felt rushed and unprofessional, especially with a manager noisily stacking chairs and sweeping while the music was still playing. The musician wrapped up around 7:30 p.m., and though the winery is open until 8:00 p.m., we felt pushed out and were unable to finish our tasting. Not once did the server apologize for the delays or the incomplete experience. We had arrived at 5:00 p.m.--ample time to finish a tasting--but poor service made that impossible. This was an embarrassing experience to share with our friends, especially since it was their first winery visit. We had planned to purchase bottles of our favorite wines, but due to the slow service and lack of attention, we left disappointed. The server simply collected our tasting cards with only 4/8 tastings completed. It's clear WEINS needs more staff on busy nights to ensure guests have the enjoyable experience they expect. My sister is a wine club member here and took my mom (myself and siblings included) here for Mothers' day and we did a tasting. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I don't know if they normally do tours here, but I asked for one since my mom doesn't go wine tasting often. The gentleman who took us on the tour was very charismatic and took the time to explain every process of the wine-making to us. The lady who did our tasting was very personable and made very good suggestions for our different palates. One of my sisters and I like dry reds, while my mother and other sister prefer wines on the sweeter, lighter side. At the end of our wine tour, the guy who took us on the tour explained the benefits of upgrading my sister's wine club membership but was not pushy at all. I really liked that he just left it open-ended. Beautiful tasting room, and I also forgot to mention that they allowed us to try a couple of the wines in progress (from the steel tank AND the oak barrel!) My wife and I decided to try a new winery last Tuesday and found ourselves at the beautiful Wiens Cellars. After nearly five years of living in Temecula, we're always excited to discover new spots, and this one did not disappoint! Scott guided us through a fantastic tasting that we shared, and we were truly impressed by their selection. Their reds are complex and delicious, their whites are crisp and refreshing, and there's something enjoyable for every palate in between. The staff was warm and welcoming, making the entire experience even better. Though we didn't get a chance to explore the indoor space, the outdoor seating area was spacious and inviting--we're already looking forward to coming back and enjoying it. Wiens Cellars is a perfect spot for a couples' date, and we highly recommend it. read more

I had the most incredible experience here, thanks to the exceptional service from Brynn. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely welcome and at ease. Brynn is not only knowledgeable about the wines--offering thoughtful tasting notes and pairing suggestions--but her warm, genuine hospitality truly elevated our visit. She anticipated our needs before we even voiced them, remembered our preferences as we moved through the tastings, and somehow made the entire experience feel both personal and luxurious. It's rare to encounter someone who is both so passionate about what they do and so attentive to detail. Wiens has always been a favorite, but Brynn's service made this visit unforgettable. Visited with some friends who raved about the orange champagne. The grounds are beautiful. The perfect place to sit and enjoy the day. The huge umbrellas give a park-like feel. Our server Tia was delightful and made the group feel welcome. I know why my friends like the champagne. Instant mimosa. The rest of the wines are average. Similar to what you get at other wineries. But when we went into the winery for another taste I became confused when I saw the "cowboy" serving customers. What is this place? A winery, saloon, bar. What's with the dirty cut off t-shirt. Why is the BOH serving? So glad we had Tia. I'll definitely come back for the champagne but choose my server. 5 stars for Tia, the grounds, and champagne. 1 star for the wines and Jim Bob. read more

We are club members from Temecula that went to Wiens 8/3/14 around 2:30 pm and were having a good time with family until Jason K. (see his review) and his group of 13 arrived in their limo. Several of his guests were drunk and obnoxious and were refused service and then they became very belligerent with the staff. When they decided to leave several of the guests sitting outside, including ourselves, started clapping and then a few of Jason's group started getting belligerent with us. The staff were very professional and polite as always. We will continue to go to our favorite winery and hopefully Jason K. and his drunk mob will stay in Orange County. read more

I can't talk highly enough about this winery, along with its employees... Best winery in the Temecula Valley, for wine quality as well as knowledgeable servers. The Reds are better than any in this area! It's an awesome place to bring your family as well, because they allow kids in the tasting area, as well as having a large outdoor area for the kids to play and run around in. Every server there can answer any specific questions pertaining to the wine . I have had the chance to be served by many of them, from Lisa to Joel to Mike to Katherine and beyond... What a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the Petit Syrah definitely our favorite wine! Britt was incredibly friendly, made us feel right at home, and took great care of us, even though it was our first visit. The pizza was simply incredible--honestly the best we've ever had, including in Italy. We ordered a Margherita and one with wild mushrooms, and both were exceptional. The whole experience felt like being in Tuscany, enjoying fantastic wine with authentic Italian pizza. We can't wait to come back! read more

I give short reviews so here it is... ehhhhhhh Personally Im over Temecula wineries throwing a crap ton of money into lavish tasting rooms to attract tourism. I feel like temecula is turning into another Solvang, California. I wish Weins had offered our large group a more personal experience like we requested rather than just a pour and buy bar situation.. Wines were good.. a little harsh for my taste but thats just my taste and everyone is different. I wish they had let there Zin Reserve age a little more. 3 stars. read more

My wife and I have been members here for a few years and enjoy every single visit. They definitely have some of the best reds in wine country. We make it out to Temecula about once a month and love checking out the new releases. On weekends the barrel room is open to club members and they have cheese and crackers available as well. It's nice that they they have a huge open patio so we're able to relax outside when it's not too hot. We've checked out multiple wineries but nothing comes close to Wiens. read more

This winery is one of the busiest in Temecula, but for good reason. Their wines are incredible and the people they hire are even better. Although the tasting room is often crowded, they still make you feel at home and will make room for you at the tasting bar. If you have the chance to visit James (or Jim once you've had wine together) you will not be disappointed. He is studying for his Sommelier for fun and has a true passion for the wines he is pouring. read more

Things have really changed at Wiens. We have been members since before Covid. After Covid, it's been an entirely different experience. Part of that can be explained by the ever changing staff! I don't know what that's all about, but every time we returned, it seemed like we were looking at an entirely new staff. Wine is still very good, but the service has suffered a great deal. Not bad, but it was great before. Not great anymore, that's for sure. read more

Oh do I love myself some champagne (sparkling wine in ca) or whatever. This place has this bubbly orange champs that is to die for. I can't really do reds, as migranes will set in quickly. We are members to the wine club and we get free tasting every time we go for ourselves and 2 guests! Can't beat that right? Staff are all super friendly and that's another reason we always go back. We then discovered that there are no food servers-you have to order food at the bar and then someone eventually delivers it in phases. Plastic hardware, condiment packages. She heads the wine club, and was incredibly understanding when it came to the fact that we live in a "hot state" and shipping is difficult during the bulk of the year. My mom and I make trips twice a year to Temecula and try and pick up all of membership shipments during those trips. Angie has been more than accommodating about this. They recently rolled out their new red and white sangria, which took up a lot of their storage floor space. But Angie made surr to keep or wines stored for us. I have had other wineries push for shipping despite being less than optimal temperature and weather. But Angle will not compromise on the quality of their wines. Every week a news letter gets published showing what food and entertainment will be happening. And, if anything changes, you can could on Angie and her crew keeping you posted. When we walk in to Julie's Dream, we feel like we are home and part of the family. If you haven't been to this amazing Vineyard, give it a shot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

There were two other associates pouring in the tasting room and they greeted us warmly upon entering. We ended up doing a tasting of 6 of their wines ($25 fee): 2021 Grenache, GSM, 2018 Field Blend, 2020 Tempranillo, and Dessert Syrah. The staff was well versed on each of the wines poured, and I actually got to try a taste of the Sangrias. I preferred the white sangria since it was very refreshing and easy to drink. My husband really liked the Field Blend, so we opted to bring that home with us. It was reasonably priced at $40. We didn't purchase any of the snacks or food as accompaniment to the wine pours ( the charcuterie board, chips, other savory options and some sweet options too). The staff member did tell us that there were some great food options available in the area, so we just decided to focus on what was in the area, outside of this venue. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as clean and rustic looking outdoor bathrooms. The decor is pretty industrial style meets cozy and casual.
