Warning long review! - lonnng wait time to receive food and it's not because the food tastes the best. Most people ordered "to go" and waited quite a while for food. I saw one person leave in disappointment of the wait time which isn't told upon order. Chicken - needed flavor. Cooked well. Mac n Cheese - depends on your tongue. I thought it was watery. My guests that were with me also said the same and that the noodles were probably overcooked. There was an elderly in my group that said the mac n cheese was very good. Fish and shrimp - no seasoning what so ever. Broccoli - watery Hush puppies - dry and no flavor They had loads of customers. One customer told us that the stew was very good. I did ask an employee where the restaurant got its name from. The owners great grandmother or grandmother told her husband the idea to start this restaurant for women who didn't have time to cook. Hence the name. The restaurant was quiet for the large amount of customers and environment was mostly clean. I wouldn't eat here or any other of its branches. I would suggest giving it a try for the experience. Your taste buds could be different from mine! Enjoy.

I've been eating at Wife Saver for years. Everything is cooked to order. I'm never disappointed. My go to is the jumbo shrimp, chicken tenders and the wing dinner. Everyone raves about the Mac and cheese and broccoli casserole. Meh, they're just ok. Both could use some work. The cabbage, Lima beans and turnips are pretty good and of course the fries and onion rings. I'm not too fond of the remaining veggies so I can't say. The desserts are ok. The winner is the banana pudding. There's plenty of room in the dining area. The drive through sometimes has long lines but they work pretty efficiently to get everyone served in a timely manner. A good place to eat to get home cooked style food. Beware, Sunday's are pretty busy. They do offer online ordering.

I was very pleased with my lunch. My food was delicious, hot, and so flavorful. I can't understand the reason for the low ratings, but Wife Saver has been an Augusta staple since the 1960s, and I love their food so much. I always have. My chicken tenders were hot and crispy. My Mac and cheese was rich and delicious. I just hate it was such a small amount. That could be better. The cabbage was also awesome. I loved it. It tasted homemade. They are a good, Southern hometown spot. Give them a shot.

Food is always good, especially the banana pudding. They have the best fried chicken, livers, shrimp, turnip greens and macaroni & cheese!

Overall: 4.17/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Value: 4.5/5 Would come again: Yes! I think Wife Saver is the best place to get fried chicken in Augusta! Their chicken strips are superb, and their honey mustard sauce is amazing. Their sides are great too, especially the Mac and cheese and cabbage. They are not very expensive either. I highly recommend and would definitely get food from there again!

Ironically, I heard of Wife Saver in the Atlanta Area when friends told me I had to check it out when I visited Augusta again! I didn't know anything about what Wife Saver was all about, so when I got inside, staff happily walked me through all of their menu items. I decided on fried chicken (although you can get bbq or baked as well) and got their three piece mixed meal ($9.99), and later saw their banana pudding, so I had to get it too ($2.19) The combo meal I had came with a leg, a thigh and a breast. Let's get one thing out of the way....these guys can cook fried chicken! It was crispy, not super greasy, and really loved every bite. The meal came with two sides and your choice of bread, biscuit or conrbread muffin (was told to get the muffins). For the sides I got fried okra and potato salad. The fried okra was REALLY good. Crispy, well salted, perfect! The potato salad was actually not very good at all, and I didn't finish it. The muffins were also just okay. They came with two muffins, I ate half of one and didn't bother with the rest. Banana pudding was pretty decent but not as amazing as it looked or what I wanted. Not a ton of banana chunks, vanilla wafers were not crispy, and while it was good to try, my quest for the perfect banana pudding is still ongoing. Parking here is easy with their large private lot. Getting in or out of either exit/entrance are both fairly easy and there's a good amount of seating around if you want to dine in. Customer service was just fine, informative, and from walk in to leaving with my to go order took just 10 min I think if I didn't get the banana pudding, and got a different side Versus their potato salad, Wife saver would've been an easy 4 stars for me, because the fried foods WERE delicious. It was just the additional items I had some differences of opinion with, so i'd give them a solid 3.5, but no rounding. That's just me though. Go check them out!

If you've never been there, they will start you out with samples of all of their lemonade (which all of them are incredibly flavorful) and you'll inevitably get one because it's THAT good. The staff comes with recommendations to help you navigate the menu and they are so attentive and helpful. I'd go as far to say that they had some of the best service in Augusta. Now to the food, 10/10 I could not recommend them enough. I've had the honey lemon pepper wings and the loyalty platter. And it was so good. The honey lemon pepper wings were full of deep flavor and they give you at-least 10 wings with the plate. The steak and shrimp are the best seasoned meats I've ever had at a restaurant. I've also had a few nibbles of their seafood and ‍. Then when you're ready for dessert, don't worry you get samples too. The blue velvet is my favorite but all of them are award winning so you can't go wrong when it comes to Nattas sweet treats. Over all, great experience, great people, and great place. Get out and support local, it'll never disappoint. P.S. if you think it's pricey, you're wrong. You get what you pay for here. You get no less than two meals out of one plate.

The portion sizes are generous and very tasty. I made a Southern Palmer with their Peach Tea and Unsweetened Ice Tea 1/2 & 1/2 of both mixed together, was the perfect beverage to pair with the Honor Platter. I finished the honorable meal with The Strawberry Velvet Cake Brownie & Red Velvet Brownie dessert pairing. The service from when I stepped in, while eating and leaving was exceptional, inviting and very pleasant. Shurell was fabulous, vibrant and a fresh of breath air. I highly recommend Kitchen Kings x Natta's Sweet Bakery to discover Augusta's Hidden Gem off Gordon Hwy. The Ambiance was the perfect R&B Vibe for a casual, sexy Saturday. The music Playlist was the perfect R&B garnish to the entire dining experience. I will be back for their Low Country Boil & the wonderful Strawberry Velvet Cake. Kings Kitchen x Natta's Sweet Bakery will not disappoint you. In fact, it will make ypur day better. It was two filets selected but you get four filets and two cheese corn muffins. I also got the Arnold Palmers and they were cold and refreshing. The first night dinner was perfect. The catfish was fried semi-hard so had a nice crisp and was tender inside. I had collard greens as a side on both nights and they were bumping. They weren't canned greens or didn't taste like them and they were cooks right and there was meat in them (they were seasoned). The first night I had the bbq corn on the cob it was good and had a kind of peppery type of seasoning coating on it I got the two cheese corn muffins both nights. And on the second night my second side was the watermelon (seasonal fruit) the melon was sweet and fresh. The only thing I will say is that I could tell that maybe there was a different chef/cook the second evening order because the fish was good and tasty but was not fried semi-hard like I liked it cooked (like the evening before) and the cheesy corn muffins on that second night was burnt baby! They had black burns on the outer sides. But guess what? I would still eat there again if ever in Augusta. I don't know much about the in restaurant service as both nights I ordered by a meal delivery service. Oh yeah the Arnold Palmers were large sized and icy and tasty and again different people making them different nights the one from my second night order was super sweet to me but still good. The only improvement I'd ask for this place is to get some hot sauce for goodness sake! They have tartar sauce but I wanted some cocktail sauce and hot sauce for my catfish.

The woman at the register was helpful when I asked what was popular on the menu since it was our first visit, but she wasn't very welcoming. She never really smiled, and I wasn't sure how ordering and seating worked at first. On the other hand, the server who brought our food was super friendly and made a much better impression. I ordered the ribs with baked beans and collard greens, along with the brisket mac & cheese bites. The ribs had really good barbecue flavor, although they were a little tougher than I'd prefer. The brisket mac & cheese bites were delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. The collard greens were pretty decent--slightly bland, but still enjoyable. The baked beans started off really good, but after a few bites they became a little monotonous and had a slight sour taste. I think they'd be even better with some ground beef or sausage mixed in. My son ordered the smashburger with mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was cheesy, gooey, and probably one of our favorite sides. The smashburger was just okay. It tasted like a regular burger, and I was expecting more of that crispy, charred edge that makes a smashburger special. The only other thing I'd mention is that we felt a little rushed while we were eating. Even so, the food was flavorful, the restaurant was clean, and I'd definitely stop by again if I lived in the area.

The food.....let me just say I not only spoke with management, I also was able to speak with the head chef to give my praise. I am not one to sing false praise, trust me. When I tell you I have never, ever, had a brunch as delicious as his!!! I am a French toast connoisseur, and his was a 12/10! There was not one bite of food that wasn't outstanding.
