Stopped in yesterday and decided to try something new. The pickle was pretty good, and the vinaigrette-style slaw was definitely different the mustard gave it an interesting kick. We finished everything on our plate. I ordered the combo plate portions were on the smaller side, but still filling. The brisket was a bit on the dry side, though the ends were nice and juicy. It could've used a little more sauce; what came with it was pretty minimal. The baked beans were solid, and the cornbread would've been better with some honey butter or something similar. The homemade root beer tasted good, but the system probably needs a cleaning you can tell there's some buildup in the lines. Overall, we didn't go there for the pub atmosphere we went for the food. Normally I'm not a let's get barbecue at the restaurant guy. It's usually small portions and overpriced. But this place not only gives you damn good portions but is priced perfectly. The brisket stuffed quesadilla and the Texas chili I had with a cornbread muffin and 2 full to the brim pints was less than fifty bucks after tip. Outstanding. You could taste every flavor perfectly, and the freshness of it all was great. Our server was amazing, providing us with fast and caring service despite waiting on two main rooms. The pub ambience is a great retreat from a rainy day. Though I do wish they'd get rid of the piss trough and instead do sectioned off urinals but that's just me. Fully recommend. read more

My first time to this cool pub was today with a group of ladies called The Ethels. Upon entry I was greeted by the bartender. A few of us moved tables together for the group. The beertender came by with the food menu and to take our drink orders. I walked to the bar and tried and purchased the hazy IPA - think it was the Easy Green. It was delicious! Once our entire group arrived a waitress took our orders. She was super friendly, personable and apologized that the food might take some time because of a big event out back. There were 9 of us, she created single checks for each of us-love that! She just did it! Our orders all came out at different times..our waitress always had an update and was checking on us. I ordered the pulled pork tacos. Delicious!!! Three come in the order. Thursdays, tacos are 1/2 price! I only wanted to eat 2 but they were so delicious I had to eat the 3rd. The pull pork was flavorful. Wow! I'm definitely going back. Have driven by this place for years and have never stopped. The place is decked out with military stuff, brewery signs and taps. I visited the Wig Wam Pub on a recent visit to the Seattle Area. They are sister concept to Deep Draft Brewing and share a parking lot and general property. Unfortunately, Deep Draft was not open, but the Pub was great and it seems like they do a lot of cool things, featuring a outdoor space, massive smokers for larger events and I hope to check out the Brewery next time I am in the area! On that note, the Pub was great. With decor ranging from brewery and street signs, news articles, tap handles they have had on the ceiling and misc. other eclectic items its a cool and very classic bar vibe. The space also has a a very long shuffleboard table. Of course featuring their own brewery mainly on tap, they also have a great case of various beers. I am a sour girlie, and really loved the sour collection they featured! They had ample options and definitely had something for everyone! Also fun fact, they have a house made root beer recipe on tap! - for those root beer float cravings! On to the food menu - They had options for everyone, from tacos, sandwiches, BBQ, hot dogs and a whole lot more! I went with something I have not seen before with was a Rangoon Hot Dog collab. The Dog had sweet n sour, crispy wontons, green onion creem cheese and honestly was a really fun combo. I really enjoyed it. I also shared the brisket tacos with my husband, featuring a delish aioli and on the side of both were housemade pickles which has an awesome and absolutely delish! First time in and I'll be back. I had the brisket sliders with a side of chili. The sliders, way better than expected from the looks of this place. Not sure what I was expecting but it definitely hit the spot. Brisket was good, had a good smoke to it. The chili tastes homemade. Not a canned chili. Not like anything I've had but again better than expected. We were on a lunch break, so can't comment on the beer or ipas on tap, but they have a brewery onsite and I'd venture to guess it's as good as the food. We did opt for the "homebrew" root beer. When you pull up to Wig Wam (after a bit of a short maze off the hiway 3) you might feel underwhelmed at the old diner. Do not let looks deceive you. You'll sit in dive bar style diner tables or at the bar. Lots of great ol beer signage, navy, nautical, old school bric a brac to look at. We tried the ribs special and the meat was 'fall off the bone' smokey goodness with a tasty sauce. Kind service, friendly staff! Loved the wiggly slaw and sauce in their baked beans too! The star for me still was the beer, Dunkel is probably my favorite style and I barely ever find it. Here, the brewery Deep Dive is onsite right behind them and they brew several dunkels, what?! They also have a variety of solid IPAs, we were impressed. The back brewery is modern bar with cute vintage items and art pieces in the garage/garden style patio, complete with stage and live music. I loved the vibe! What a find, been flying past on the 3 past here for years and never knew! We were able to purchase some crowlers to go. Went on a Sunday afternoon. As described by many other people, the bartender was absolutely surly and unhelpful. Food portions were microscopically small for an astronomical price. The 3 oz of brisket I got was dry with a little bit of sauce drizzled on it. None on the side. I asked for sweetener for my iced tea and got handed or ramekin full of sugar. When I asked for artificial sweetener she unceremoniously dumped a handful of Sweet and low right on the table. I got about 3 oz of brisket and a couple of tablespoons of beans and coleslaw that tasted like sour pickles. I am never going back again. It was really bad. read more

But i did ask for butter for my cornbread since there was none. Took a bit to get that. Price was really good. Pickles were amazingly good - slightly sweet, tangy and spicy. So. Yes I would go again but not when they first open. Seems like this would be a happy hour to dinner spot. They apparently have live music at the brewery behind. Restaurant: Clean with a large number of beer pulls on the ceiling and a military friendly decor. Seems like they have a lot of scheduled activities including live music if that's your thing. Didn't use the restrooms. Food: Pulled pork sliders, sweet pickle and potato salad were delicious. Large beer selection. Would have tried one, but see below. Service: Went in at 9:32pm on a Monday night. (Website says they close at 10.) We walked in and saw three patrons in addition to the waitress/possible cook/server/hostess who was scooping beans into a small bowl. Knowing we were the bane of restaurant employees everywhere, my friend smiled and said, "We eat fast. Lifelong habit." The woman replied, "We don't have a full menu so I'll give you a menu, you tell me what you want and I'll tell you if I have it." So we waited for, then looked around for, the menu and then just guessed. Luckily, BBQ is a pretty standard meal so we could correctly guess what the sides and entrees would be. (She did verbally list the sides, so it wasn't all on us.) My friend went to look at the beer options as I turned toward the register and finally saw the menus sitting there. By this time I was annoyed by the woman's annoyance with us so I made it easy, picked the first thing I saw on the menu, ordered two Cokes, and paid up. $35 including my $1 tip for bringing the food out instead of calling me up to get it. I only put the $1 in so she'd see me do it. Otherwise, it was no different than picking up McDonald's and I don't tip there, either. Here's your tip: If you want to be home by 10:30, close the restaurant by 9:00 or 9:30. If you want to stay in business, act like it. We were finished eating by 10:02. First of all, I never leave reviews, but I feel like I have to now. To get straight to the point, the pulled pork was stringy and had a chemical taste. The brisket was the driest I've ever had even worse than my homemade brisket. My wife had one bite of her sandwich, and I ate about half of my brisket, having to take a sip of beer (which was a good IPA) after every bite. The coleslaw and pickles were inedible also. We pushed our plates to the end of the table. The waitress/bartender came by asking if we wanted boxes and we said no. She didn't even ask how the food was out why we barely ate anything. She never came by with the check so I went up to the bar to pay. Again, didn't ask how the food was and charged us for all the food we didn't eat. What a surprise! Great little local bar. They have a very nice selection of craft beer; they had 2018 Fremont Darkstar on tap when I was there. They have a small menu with BBQ brisket or pork, nachos, hot-dogs, chili, and etc. Food was good. Service was also great, nice ladies behind the counter. In the back they also have a table shuffleboard!! Not what I was expecting halfway between Bremerton and Gig Harbor, so it was a nice find. I'm giving it atop rating as an old timey "neighborhood bar" where you can get slowly besotted and actually make friends in a comfortable space not sad as taverns usually are. It also scores well for affordability. As a restaurant I can't judge it fairly because I'm 90% vegetarian a BBQ joint isn't for me. Going with friends for dinner nearly all I can get is a pretzel or potato salad. The guy at the smoker did say if he had fair warning and the time he'd have some specially smoked vegetables and it sounded great but I'm not one to get on the phone to find out if that can really happen. Oh, I admit it, I sometimes eat fish or chicken, not often, but I am tempted to someday try their BBQ wings, depends on how guilty I wanna feel about the po' li'l chickens. The brewery is part of the same company which makes it even more glorious just as a tavern, their own brews available. There's also original "rusty iron" artworks and an outdoor mural the place is worth visiting just for the art. And check out the place regularly for music or art events, occasionally even family events, this place genuinely does strive to contribute to the community. read more

I decided to try it again tonight with my wife, but we got a to go order, mine a 12oz pulled pork plate with beans and potato salad, and hers a 6oz brisket plate with mac salad and cole slaw. We were very disappointed. The brisket was not tender, and mostly fatty gristly meat. My pulled pork was nice and tender but hardly any flavor at all. I hardly had any sauce drizzled over the pork, but the brisket had a lot of sauce. The sides were in a tiny little cup with about two tablespoons of beans and salad. It was disappointing to say the least, and we probably won't return, which is just too bad, because we both love a good bbq plate. Perhaps we went too late in the day and got the leftovers at the end of day, because it was 6PM... The total for our bill was $31.88, which I thought was a bit much for the amount of food we got. I drive by this sketchy looking little place all of the time and decided to stop in today. I'm so glad I did and wish I'd tried them sooner. The food is really tasty here. The hot dogs are crazy good. They have that perfect snap and great flavor. I tried the hot dog that has coleslaw on it. Again, the hot dog was delicious. I wish the coleslaw was a creamier based slaw. This one is a vinegar based slaw, while it's still good. I personally am just more of a mayo based slaw person. The pulled pork is really good. The sandwiches don't skip on any meat. They are really good, and I love that the sauce comes on the side. I would like to get the sliders next time as the sandwich was huge. The Mac salad and potato salad were good. They honestly tasted like store bought. I may be wrong, but they do taste exactly like you get in the grocery store. Stopped in for a late lunch mid afternoon. Sometimes bbq joints struggle with keeping the meat moist outside of the primary serving times, but this wasn't the case. My wife had the pulled pork tacos and I had the brisket plate. They gave me a fork and knife but I didn't need the knife, the brisket was moist and tender. I wish I could get in here a little more often. This place has the best barbecue in Kitsap County, hands down. They do first class Texas barbecue here. While their sauce is good, it's really not the point. They complement their smoke with an excellent selection of small batch ales and a home made root beer that is unrivaled in Washington State. Owned by a loyal Navy family, they welcome Marines and demonstrate good will to veterans of all stripes. While I will always be a loyal patron of this place, I was a little disappointed by their service the last time I stopped in. No greeting when I came in on an obviously slow lunch hour. After I placed my order, I asked for water when prompted for a beverage choice. The response was: "the water is over there.", and a gesture across the room. She did redeem herself a few minutes later by bringing me a glass of water. However, I think she may have been prompted by my disdainful sideways glance at the cooler, rather than a genuine sense of hospitality or service. Still, in my mind it was enough to merit a full tip. But, then... When I looked at my bill, I saw an add-on charge for credit cards. Look, I realize that credit and debit charges can be an issue for small businesses. Still, I think they owe a patron an effort to communicate that charge upfront. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I looked again at the menu and I looked around the bar to see if there was some sort of notice or sign. read more
