I love Wiggleyville because when my doggie and i visit, i feel less like a crazy dog lady than i know i truly am. That's because everyone in the store spoils their pets rotten and buys whatever their dog sniffs once and then won't let go of (guilty). The staff at Wiggley is great! They know Bella by her name and if she listens and does her tricks when they ask, they give her free treats. Even when we're just going for a walk around the block, Bella will dig in and drag me into Wiggleyville's front door. I have to pull her away and tell her we are not going in there today!! Sure, the things in here are pretty expensive but you get what you pay for! They have great healthy organic food options, tons of rawhides, and durable chew toys. When you have a pit bull, cheapie Walgreens/Petsmart chew toys are a JOKE and just mean its time to get the vacuum out in 15 minutes. Even though i can't afford the place (one star lost for my poorness), its a great little store to stop in and pick up a few goodies. And of course, no one loves it more than the pup herself, so they are definitely doing business well! read more

Dope name for a pet boutique! This is a fantastic pet boutique that I sort of stumbled across. I've heard about this place but never knew the location. Where do I start, they have a huge collection of everything you can think of, and if they don't have it they can order it (9 out of 10 chance they'll carry it). They have bin after bin of dog clothes with all sizes to choose from. The staff is very knowledgeable about everything, to the point where I was very impressed. The prices are very fair, and if your looking to compare prices from other places then I say come to Wigglyville, you may be surprise with there great low prices. If this was closer to my house I would make this my pet boutique of choice, they carry all the products that my dogs eat. I'll be back to check it out later in the summer. read more

April (my kitty) says that Science Diet is good, and that is what her vet prefers. They don't carry it. They only carry fancy stuff. Sometimes I buy it because I'm out of food and it's by my work, but I got this one package for like 13 bucks and April didn't like it. No lie, this isn't always the most accessible pet store due to the proximity to Wrigley BUT they're open til 8:00pm so I'll happily overlook it. The staff has always been helpful without annoying me, big plus as I hate when people follow you around helping you shop. Everyone I've encountered has been pretty knowledgeable too which is deeply appreciated when your dog has some unfortunate digestive issues. They have pretty much anything you need from head to paw and even have some great collars and leads on sale from time to time. There are also grooming supplies, supplements and some toys. read more

I wish this shop was in my hood! I discovered via the following series of events: Fed the dogs dinner, noticed that they didn't have enough Canidae for breakfast. Had to meet the girls at Wilde on Broadway...no time to go to my usual dog place, which is in the opposite direction. Went on the Canidae web site, looked for retail shops, searched for one near Wilde, and found Wigglyville! SO glad I did! The owner was super nice and they had a great selection of toys. Apollo really likes Wigglyville because they have all the toys and bones he could ever want and dream about. They seriously have a fantastic selection of doggie goodies. I love Wigglyville! It is a hop, skip and a jump away from my vet's office, so I stop by with my Golden Retriever all the time. It is a relatively small shop and prices are higher than what you would pay online, but I believe in supporting local businesses and really appreciate the thought that they put into ordering high quality items. The employees are always helpful in providing candid reviews and feedback on items you have questions about. If your dog has sensitivities or allergies, they help you find items that fit your dogs! I usually get their center piece bones (really great prices and it gives my dog something to do while I'm at work), and sometimes the braided bully sticks/ lamb lungs if my dog gets lucky. My favorite thing about this pet store is its neighborly feel -- especially since so many other chains feel very corporate. I attended one of the little parties they threw for the dogs and humans, and it was fabulous! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The staff is very friendly, but they won't harass you while you walk around. They are very helpful with questions and they know about all of the products they carry. They are great with recommendations and knowledgeable with product ingredients, pet allergies, behavior and so much more. I love this place because they carry natural pet foods and holistic treatments. I only feed my dogs healthy food. No byproducts, no artificial crap. All the food in this store is great for your pet's health and that is a big deal to me. I wish more people realized the value of good pet nutrition, but knowing that Wigglyville offers everything I need to keep my dogs healthy makes me very happy. My dogs are my family. When we walk down Broadway and pass Wigglyville, my dog stops and whimpers if I don't let her go in. I have to say, I am just as smitten as she is. I first found Wigglyville when I was new to Lakeview and scoping things out. As I only had a cat then, I bought her a cutesy toy but didn't have much need to go back unless I needed a dog fix - until that winter when my cat decided that she was cold, and curling up around our ancient, spitting radiator was the way to go. Not only that, she would push the crank with her paw until it was on full-blast, at which point it usually spewed hot water because, hey, I was 18 and couldn't afford a nicer apartment. So I read about heated cat beds online, but was overwhelmed. I was really worried she wouldn't use it, because I had previously bought her a bed that she wouldn't touch. I went into Wigglyville to see what they had and ended up talking to the friendly staff who told me all about which bed was the best because it only turned on when the cat was in it and how to make a "catnip tea" to spray in there to get her to love it. Sure enough, it's the only bed she's ever loved. When we got our dog, trips to Wigglyville became a weekly thing - and still are! I love supporting a local business, and while some things are more pricey than Big Business, the expertise is usually worth it. They have one of the best selections of natural and healthy pet food around and I've never been disappointed in a product I've bought here. Wigglyville is my family's go-to spot for our dog needs. They have a huge selection with high quality products but what really makes this store special is there staff. We visit at least once a week, and they always remember my dogs name, idiosyncrasies and they greet him and make him comfortable. They go above and beyond that, remembering our dog food brand so they can grab it for us in a hurry, suggesting new treats based off of old favorites, and even offering specialized advice and contact information if we have problems. Amazing place! We have a nutso Italian Greyhound who is convinced that the world is out to get him-- people, dogs, plants, cotton candy, you name it-- he's a super-fraidy cat. He's been working with an awesome trainer, Brandi Barker, and she sent us there to get a no-pull harness and a fitting for it. I called and explained we had a little guy with issues and Shawn suggested we come early before the store opened when it would just be us and he would fit the little guy for his harness so it wouldn't be so stressful for him. That, my friends, is called SERVICE!! We got a great harness, the little guy wasn't stressed and all and all it was great experience. I highly recommend them-- they 'get it'!!!!!!!!!! I adored this place. I just adopted my puppy a few weeks ago, so I'm in the "I want to buy her everything adorable and precious" phase and also the "I should buy my cat stuff so she knows I still love her" phase. Unfortunately I can't afford to be in those phases, so it's a constant disappointment. Luckily, this place had a wide range of treats, clothes and toys with a wide range of prices. The staff was really friendly and helpful, as well. I wouldn't necessarily come here for the every day essentials (I'm not sure I even saw kitty litter), but for treats, toys and clothes, it would be hard to resist this place. read more

I really like this place, when I first went here is when there was the big recall on dog food and I went organic with my dog. The man who helped me (I feel bad because I don't remember his name) was sooooo nice and knowledgeable. My dog loved him as well and he was more than happy to pet her and give her some love :). The place is really CLEAN and really big for a local pet store. Sure some of the items in there are expensive but I think it is pretty reasonable overall...sometimes the reason a lot of things are priced higher is because of the nature of the product...organic stuff generally cost more and so does grain free. The only issue I had is with parking (but that is my own problem, because I drive)- but don't let that deter you from going to the store. Its all very cute and fun, from the toys to the leashes and collars. I got my corgi/shepherd mix a stuffed monkey that is almost as big as she is (very funny to watch her play with it), and they carry the same natural-fancy pants food that her previous owners fed her. This stuff is pricey though - a store like this could truly only exist in Lakeview or Lincoln Park. But if you treat your dog like a person, and you think that people should eat organic foods and use natural remedies for illnesses, and wear rhinestones, then you'll love it. read more

Hehe this store is so cute!!! I don't own a dog but my sister just got a cat so I went to get some toys. I also got a new food dish for my bunny. The staff was SO nice! They really helped me out when choosing toys and what they knew from personal experience with their animals and you can tell they really love animals which is great. The prices are a bit hefty (I only bought toys so I could be wrong on the rest of the items) If I had a dog and was well off with money, i would be there everyday!!! Two words: CATNIP BUDS. Your cat would thank you if it remembered the hour or so of total ecstasy and absurdity you recorded and put up on YouTube for all to see. Everything you might need for your pet and a lot of stuff you didn't realize your pet needed. But don't let the words: pet boutique throw you off. This place won't eat your wallet. They have everything from $5 laser pointers up to designer doggie accessories, herbs and vitamins, and organic treats and food. The employees are wicked nice and very knowledgeable. This is one of the best independent pet boutiques I have ever been to. I wish it was closer to my home. read more

I stopped by here today with my recently diagnosed dog-in-a-bubble pitbull, Titan. We went straight from the dermatologist's office (hence the dog-in-the-bubble reference) to find venison. Venison treats of all shapes and sizes (elimination diet). James was excellent with Titan. He has tremendous experience with pitbulls and respected that some dogs are a little different on lead and they don't like to be stared down. James quickly won Titan's heart by offering him treats and making him do tricks for the treats (ha!). There was a great selection of venison treats and bones, and they even make their own venison jerky there. While some may think it's expensive, I've already been buying top of the line organic food and treats for my boy and my kitties and I found the prices to be right where they should be, even a little lower than some other places. OH! And they have those cat nip cigars which I haven't been able to find for ages. My cats have been stoned since I got home. Bottom line, if you think Beneful is an upscale dog food or that Meow Mix in a jug is a good choice for your cat, you will probably think everything is overpriced. Finally, James is just fantastic. The guy knows his stuff and has a good way with dogs (and I would imagine all animals). Sometimes when I bring my ghetto bowling ball head of a dog into these higher end stores people do one of two things 1) say in a shrill voice how cute he is while coming to say hello uninvited as I tighten his lead only to make him more nervous; or 2) glare at us and wonder if we are lost. My sloppy, lovable, wrong side of the tracks dog loved it here. He drank from the running water bowl (which normally he has to fight our cats for) slobbered all over the place, knocked displays over and followed James around looking for treats. All the while James was gracious, helpful and just had an overall good vibe. We will definitely be back. read more

We live across town and there are other pet stores closer to us, but we're really happy with the service we get from the staff here. My neighbor and I stopped here after getting some cupcakes. I really enjoyed this store. It had a nice layout and tons of stuff for the pooches. We found tons of cute stuff on the sale shelves, and she got an adorable leash for about 10 bucks! A leash like the one she got is usually around 20-25 dollars... so it was a steal. The staff were very helpful and the store has a bright, clean feeling. If it wasn't such a far walk, I'd take my dog there all the time! read more

Such a cute dog store filled with tongue and snout jokes with a variety of toys and accessories for dogs. If you like dressing up your dog to look adorable, here is the place. Dogs are welcomed and encouraged here so when I visit Chicago and I want to see dogs, I always make a stop here. It's fun squeaking a toy in the store and seeing all the interested dogs get excited. I love it's *just* for dogs here. Very little cat stuff (not a cat lover) but lots of leashes, collars and pet food. This is where I get a souvenir for the dog when I visit Chicago. Love this little store. They have great prices on bully sticks, a huge selection of toys, snacks, and food. Very friendly staff. Plus they let us buy our pup only two of the doggie boots! She only needed the front two instead of all four, so they let us try different ones on and only purchase two. I was amazed to see that they had cheaper prices than Petco. To make it even better, the employees are SO NICE! There is one guy that I swear works there every day, he is fantastic. This is a great pet boutique in the city, they have TONS of toys, several of which my puppy is happily trying to kill currently. Very friendly employees, lots of natural treats and a bully stick bar, although they do sell rawhide, which are terrible for dogs. I love coming in here! I love purchasing things that make my golden smell wonderful and feel loved. The only thing I would maybe comment on is that it is a little pricey- and they don't seem to ever have sales. Something for them to consider in this economy... I will say what they have is high quality, though, just $$. Might be cool if they hosted a one day "bring your dog and get a discount" event. I'm a cat owner, but have had serious puppy-withdraw. So I planned to have a fun birthday picnic at the dog beach and invite all my friends and their pooches to join. I had the cupcakes taken care of, by Phoebe's just a few doors down... buy I needed something for my canine guests. So I went to Wigglyville. The woman working there loved my party idea and went out of her way to help show me some treats the doggies would like. I was able to get a good variety to suit any sized dog that might come. And while it was more expensive than just getting some Beggin' Strips... it was worth it. I put all my treats into little doggie bags, decorate up... with the smallest rawhide bone tied to the bow.... and got ready for my party. Of course, it rained that day, so everything got moved to my super small apartment... thus, no puppies at my party. I saved the bags and used them for my friend's 5 year old daughter's birthday -- she happened to have a dog-friendly party as well. read more

what to say that hasn't already been said? Seriously, this place is fantastic! The staff is super knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They helped us get the proper food when our dog decided she was super picky and refused to eat. We only bring our dog in once every few months, but they all remember her, call out her name, and she remembers them! You can't go wrong! Oh, and I don't know what people are talking about, the prices actually aren't that much more than anywhere else. The 12.5lb bag of dog food we buy is prob only $1-2 cheaper online at some random canadian pet store. Best of everything- treats, supplies, toys, service. The super knowledgeable staff is usually my first stop for advice now. For my lab, they have the best "rough" toys and treats that last a little bit longer, and some they'll even return if they break quickly. My favorite experience was fitting my dog for his first Chicago winter. They helped get the boots on him, one by one, got him to walk around the store and trained us on how to train him to walk in them! Great service. I would love if they were a little less expensive, but now I know I am getting a lot more than what I'm paying for when I make a stop. Love supporting this local business! read more

Wigglyville is the crown jewel of pet boutiques, hands down! I love shopping here because I know that everything they carry is well-researched (just ask any of the staff a question!) and the ingredients are of the highest quality. I am similarly impressed by the great selection of environmentally friendly products. Not to mention the people are great, smart, and truly passionate about what they do. The coolest thing is that they seem to remember *everyone* who comes through their doors and can always recommend a cool new product that meshes with you and your pet's lifestyle. Last time I was in I picked up a couple new chews made of yak milk in Nepal -- they knew we were vegan (though our dogs certainly aren't!) and offered it as a more compassionate alternative to our regular bully sticks. Sweet! A common complaint is that Wigglyville can be pricey, but I, for one, am happy to pay a bit more to support a local business and the quality of products and customer service that they provide. And those investments have certainly paid off -- with every housetraining accident, I am even more grateful for our $180 Crypton dog bed. Though we no longer live three blocks away, we will brave the Cubs traffic every time our dog murders another squeaky ball. This place is the best! read more

Just had a very rude visit to what is normally a very friendly store. The sales person made rude and flippant comments when asked questions, commenting "clearly" when I indicated I hadn't seen something. When confronted the best he could say was he was sorry I "perceived his comment as rude." Someone might want to teach him to keep his smart ass comments to himself unless the goal is to drive customers away. read more

I can't say enough nice things about this place. They have a big freezer in the back filled with all sorts of great treats for your pet. My dog loves the beef bones. I buy them by the 6-pack. They have a fantastic selection of leashes and collars. And at Halloween, their costumes are the best. Above all the nice things I say about the merchandise though is the staff. No matter how long it has been since my last visit I am always remembered. They are consistently warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. I love thise place and so does my dog! read more
