Me likey! I love this place forget Petsmart and do something good for your cat. I have a cat and in dog happy Chicago finding great organic cat food, treat and toys is much harder than you'd think. The cat section might be pretty small in the place but that seems to be the norm since there are more dog owners than cat owners. It' always easy to find cute toys and my cat loves the dried chicken treats, they're like cat crack. They even have lavender scented organic-good for the environment-kitty litter. The staff is great too, very knowledgeable and could always answer any question I had, plus they're just super nice. It's like one of those great neighborhood mom and pop stops where they always remember you. 5 stars for knowledgeable staff and great kitty selection. read more

I am pretty sure Wigglyville is our little mutt's favorite place in the world. His little tail wags faster and faster as we get close and he bursts through the door with pure excitement every time we walk in. It's probably the fresh running water or the free dog treats or maybe that every staff member knows him by name. It could be the friendly community atmosphere of dogs and dog lovers too. The top quality food, leashes, collars, toys, bedding and clothing at competitive prices let him live like a king without breaking mommy and daddy's bank so they let him go back again and again. read more

The service here is amazing! And you will always be greeted with a smile and a friendly lick/sniff by the resident mascot(!). I don't own a pet myself but I have stopped in a few times to purchase treats for my sister's dog. I like that they carry some local small brands. The owner plus employees are knowledgeable both about pets and about the neighborhood, and so if you are new in Lakeview and have dogs this is a good place to make a routine stop. read more

Awesome store! The staff is super helpful and they have a wide variety of pet products. Their sale table is awesome as well and has some really good bargains. They have this cool home deoderizing system that I've never seen before but I'm totally considering getting it. The sales people there were great because they didn't rush us into buying one of the systems and advised us to go online and research it because there were other vases that they didn't have in the store but they said they could order any of them for us so we could save on shipping charges :) I'm definitely going back! read more

I started scoping this place out a month before I got my puppy and was very impressed during my first visit. Was looking at dog beds, collars and stuff that I would soon need for my little guy. I walked out thinking, "I can't wait to come back!" Fast forward a month later - I did come back with boyfriend and baby in tow searching for a collar and harness. However, I felt that the staff member who helped me was so distracted by my puppy that he wasn't really helping me find a harness or anything for that matter. He sat down on the floor and starting playing with my puppy and then got out several toys to continue the play with my puppy. At first I thought it was cute but after a while, I just wanted to get the collar and harness so we could leave. Once we finally picked out a harness that my boyfriend and I both liked, he offered to help fit it to my pup. So far, so good. Then I made a comment that we should probably chill with the play anyway because puppy had just jumped off the couch the day before (which ended in a trip to the vet and a muscle sprain diagnosis). And here is when the visit goes bad...for whatever reason, the staff member started rubbing the hip joints of my puppy. (My puppy is a breed that tends to have hip and knee problems so I stated right away that I didn't like him massaging my puppy's hips). After this happened, the staff member acted offended and became cold to me after that. In fact, when I was in his line to check out, he walked away from the register when I got up to pay the $50 for the collar and harness! Trust me, I get that I own an adorable puppy and attention is part of the gig. However, when I am in your store I would appreciate it if you could demonstrate a little self-control and pay attention to servicing the needs of your human customer as well. Which sometimes means backing off my puppy to acknowledge whether I'm comfortable with all your affection towards my baby. read more

We couldn't be happier with this place! We stopped in about a month ago before getting our black lab puppy, Drogo. The staff was really friendly and gave great advice. They introduced us to great puppy treats, bones, toys, and food. We spent a significant amount of time in there, and really liked that the staff was honest with their opinions and reviews on the products in the store. They didn't try to "sell" anything. We came back after we got our puppy and they were of course really friendly and excited to see our little guy. We will continue to be loyal customers here. I'll be the first to admit that my dogs live a privileged life. That said, I've been to a number of other higher end dog stores, and I've found that Wigglyville has the best selection. Items that are less common, such as doggy car-safety harnesses and winter boots for dogs with big feet and skinny ankles, can be found here. The staff here is well-informed, fun, and helpful. I liked this place. The store staff was friendly and helpful. When I asked about food items and leashes they were knowledgeable about how items worked and what kind of ingredients were used. They have a very good selection of collars and leashes, much better than PetSmart or Petco, and I do like both of those places, but this place seems to have more variety. Additionally, the treats they have for dogs (I don't have a cat so I didn't look at the cat stuff, sorry) are really quite impressive, especially the "Happy Birthday" cakes and bones you can get if you really want to spoil your best friend. :) read more

Great store with lots of unique presents for your dog. The staff is awesome and takes good care of you. I bought a harness for my beagle and it makes her look fat, but I almost bought a really horrible color. The dude at the shop was way more in touch with dog fashion than I and, although she looks plump in it, the color is spot on. A little pricey, but worth it. read more

Whenever strangers to the 'hood come to visit, they want to go in this store. I've never purchased anything here, although I'm the doting owner of three dogs and three cats. Dogs and cats do NOT need outfits, designer bags, or strollers. And even if they did, this place is so expensive I'd have to take out a loan just to buy a collar! WOW! We are planning to adopt a dog soon and stopped in here to take a look at what kinds of dog equipment, treats and toys are available (in a general sense) and ended up chatting with the owner for quite a while. We learned a ton about several different small dog breeds (which ones might be a good match with our lifestyle, which ones maybe not), various rescue groups, general dog care, safe/comfortable carriers for dogs (apparently you can take little guys on airplanes!) and more. Apparently she (the owner) used to be a vet tech, and it's obvious that a) she keeps up on the latest veterinary stuff, and b) she REALLY LOVES dogs. After throwing questions at her for about half an hour (and getting patient, thorough answers to every one) I felt like we should buy something just for taking up so much of her time. We looked at a couple of different things that we might need, but she actually *discouraged* us from buying anything - said we should wait until we actually HAVE the dog before getting any equipment. Solid logic, but even so, not what you expect to hear from a shopkeeper. Suffice it to say that when we DO have our new critter, we'll be coming to Wigglyville to get equipped! read more

Wish I could give 10 stars! Soon after the first shop opened, I brought my little 3 month shih tzu into the store. Hollus noticed right away that she didn't look right and I rushed off to the vet. I was new at being a dog owner what did I know. Now, 7+ yrs later, Hollus is her groomer and called to tell me something was wrong with Mimi's tail and skin. Again, I rush her to the vet. Mimi has been diagnosed with Cushings, but Hollus caught it early. Hopefully, giving me more time with my love. If you want a place that really cares for your pet. Please visit Wigglyville. It's not only fun to go in, you learn something everytime. You can know that the food is top notch and been researched to death. The toys, leashes, collars, dog clothes are the best. I always find something for my little girl. She loves visiting the store and the big lovable store dog, Talis (sp). Everybody that works there is wonderful! Hollis is my personal hero. I had a BIG problemo this week -- lost someone else's dog sweater on a plane (plus one I was knitting, too), and was understandably distressed that American Airlines didn't stop everything they were doing to search for two little dog sweaters! I was a little crazy, at that point, I admit. Called Wigglyville after finding out they sourced the sweater, and they didn't have the size I needed in stock, but called the manufacturer especially for me, and made a replacement sweater possible. Friendship intact, and Wigglyville has a new customer for life! read more

I LOVE this store. The employees are very nice and helpful. The owner is also very knowledgable about the products. I went in because my cat has feline acne and I needed something to take care of it. I had no idea what to use on feline acne as I had never even heard of it before my cat had it. Luckily, the owner knew exactly what to use and helped me find it. It helps that she used to work in vets offices and at the animal hospital at the Lincoln Park Zoo. It is definately worth going to this store even if you don't have a specific need. They have quality products and provide great service to all customers. read more

So, this is my first non-restaurant review, but wiggleyville is just so great I had to give them some props. Every time I walk in (which is usually about once a week) I am immediately greeted by the super friendly and helpful staff. I love looking at their fantastic selection of toys and treats for my pup and every time I walk through they always seem to have something new and fun to check out. I buy everything I need for my dog here and more, and if I ever have a problem with a purchase they are always quick to help and find something else to fit my needs. I couldn't help but notice the review from Jenny C. I find that an inaccurate and ridiculous statement by her. I own a pet services company and I am frequently in pet boutiques at least 15-20 times per month. I have found that the staff at Wiggleyville is not only professional, but extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The store is immaculate and well stocked and carries a huge selection of toys, goodies, food, etc. I have sent clients there and they have raved about it. It makes me think that perhaps this is a competitor writing this review. As a pet care specialist, I know that they provide superior service and I would never risk sending my clients there if they didn't. read more

This place has some pretty cool stuff (there are more flavors for chewies than I could ever imagine) but it's pretty expensive. I know a lot of people are willing to pay $40 for a dog collar and if you are then this place would be great for you. For those among us who have dogs that are going to rip the eyes off their toys or chew through one another's collars no matter how much or little you pay for it better deals can be found. read more

A great little local pet shop. Service here is far above what you would expect. They helped me fit my crazy puppy with a harness, which wasn't an easy or quick task. I regularly get my dog food here and they do have some unique items. You'll find plenty of toys and bones and everything is priced pretty well. They carry a few brands of higher end food but they don't have all sizes on hand of everything. read more

The best pet shop in Chicago, hands down. The owners and the staff are super friendly, helpful and knowledgable - they will break your heart if you hate your job because they are so clearly passionate and committed to animals and have followed that passion to build a successful business. (maybe you should do the same, no?) What I especially love is that if you're a regular customer, it kinda feels like Cheers in there - whenever I walk in, they always seem happy to see me, they know my name, and they know where I work (a well-known place in chicago) so we always end up chatting about related stuff. BUT if that turns you off, no worries - you can also just pop in and out. Be sure to say hello to Ralph, the female bird, by the cash register - they're trying to make her more comfortable with strangers and encourage you to spend a few moments interacting with her. Warning - their products are more expensive then Pet Smart, etc, but there's a reason why - those mass brands are crap food for your animals. And the little extra you spend at Wigglyville will likely save you lots o' dough later at the vet. After spending over $1200 on vet bills for my cat's kidneys related to the pet food contamination a few years ago, I will never shortchange my cats on the quality of their food again.
