Shaved ice here is one of the best. I just wish they offered it with ice cream, which they also sell in this market. The shaved ice is on the pricier side compared to other places on the island but the consistency of the ice was delicious. It does get sticky and messy. Also adding the condensed ice is a must! Located within the sprawling 23 acre mammoth resort that is Hilton Hawaiian Village, this little mini market is actually more a take-out spot as opposed to a "market". There are no groceries to be had here. There are bagels, cupcakes, pastries, sandwiches, pizza etc. There is a hot menu as well as some small items for takeaway, like cereal and bananas. Prices are resort prices, so nothing too shocking. A single banana is around a buck fifty, where a short walk to the ABC store sells the same banana for .69 It's located in the Ali'i Tower, right near the beach and the Tropics bar and grill, and pool. Convenience is the key, and with thousands and thousands of people staying in this small city within a city that is Hilton Hawaiian Village, there will always be plenty of people to eat here- whether food or bad. Unfortunately, I only had two items from here, and both were sub-par. Perhaps it was because it was the end of the day and they (cupcake and malasada) had been sitting in the case ALL day. Perhaps they just aren't any good to begin with. Whichever it is, I won't be trying them again. We are here for five days, so I may indeed be back. If so, I will try a hot menu item and hope for better luck. In a nutshell, 1 Star for food (so far. May be updated). 3 overall for convenience and friendly service. read more

This deluxe treat had a hefty price at $14, but was very big and I could have shared it with several others. It melts quickly, so you have to eat fast. This might not be the top pick for shaved ice on the island, but it's convenient location makes it a must stop if staying at the Hilton Hawaii and need a beach or pool side treat. The service needs improving- specifically, related to customer service (& anger management). The cashier was yelling at the front desk guy who takes orders & a customer. There was confusion between an order for chicken strips & she kept telling the young girl, "Go figure it out with them! I can't help you!" & trying to get her to step aside. It was a Friday around 12PM, & they should be able to stay calm during a lunchtime rush. I would go again, only because of the convenience & variety of options. It appears to be a neat little market for snacks and some light food. However, be prepared to get hit with attitudes from the staff. The lady at the register was great. But the staff at the back counter will ruin any good mood that you were in when you walked in. The sad thing is, I doubt that they even have enough self-awareness to even know how they are actually coming off toward the customer. It is very unfortunate that I have seen in my many years of being in customer service that this generation has no idea how to conduct themselves in any cordial, professional way.
