My wife and I were in Montpelier for the day and happened to stumble upon this restaurant for lunch. I worked in Bangkok for 5 years so I find it difficult to find authentic Thai food in the US. Imagine my great surprise when the food I ate here was like the best Bangkok street food. It's that good! The choice of dishes was limited: only three bowls. My wife and I selected the Gwit Diow, which is rice noodles with roasted pork in savory broth, and Khao Soy, which is coconut curry over rice noodles with braised chicken topped with fresh cabbage, red onion, cilantro and chili. Both were mind blowingly good! Literally the best Thai food I've had since I was in Bangkok last year. Service was good --- the Thai owner was super friendly. The ambiance is simple, straightforward. You come here for the great food!

This is the best tasting authentic eatery for Thai food in Montpellier! The place is nondescript you can easily miss it if you're visiting for the first time. I've lived in Asia and visited Thailand many times and if you're craving for the real taste of Thailand, this is the place! The chef is very engaging and friendly. Not sure about the hostess though. The eatery is unpretentious and I can't imagine what it is like in cold snowy conditions. There are only three tables inside. Nevertheless, this is a gem of Thai cuisine!

This is the bomb of the town. You would regret coming here but come early and pray to get a table. Btw you have to order first then she let you in. Don't waste people time and not a table service. There are like 3 table for 8 people to seat. They do mostly take out and can sold out easily. Their menu rotates and you get new every once in a while. Check online for their menu. The service is so nice. I would just come to experience the good service. The food is amazing and honestly I won't judge you if you order one of each. Food is amazing. Well maybe it was cold out too but the curry I had is out of this world. Love the egg addon.

So .... I'm in Vermont with a couple of girlfriends, walking around in the freezing cold when I spotted Wilaiwan's signage with just 3 items on the menu. Brilliant... as the menu had a chicken soup, a beef salad and grilled pork in papaya salad, a little of everything! We needed lunch so we ordered one of each. The chef/owner.. I assumed peeked out and I said Sawadee ka and we smiled before saying bye. Oh boy ... we were in for a treat! Wow. All the dishes had all the flavors that put Thai food on the map as one of the most flavorful foods you'd ever tasted. It was such a heartwarming and comforting experience to be so far away from my homeland and home in California to finding such comfort in Wilaiwan's dishes. Don't hesitate to give her a try if you stumble upon this review. Her food is as authentic as to what you could get in Thailand. Trust me

This is a teeny tiny primarily take out spot. They offer fresh hot authentic Thai food. It's the best in New England. Really. It's spicy and contains fish sauce so vegetarians and vegans beware. It's also got kick. If you order by 11am they can take special orders for mild versions. They offer 3 entrees and post the menu on their website which changes each week. Every dish features fresh vegetables. oh so yummy. They're only open a short time everyday and close if they sell out even if it's before their posted closing time so try to get there early. Very limited seating indoors. Not for claustrophobic people. I highly recommend grabbing lunch and having a picnic on the statehouse lawn or nearby church benches.

I finally tried Wilaiwan's Kitchen on a Saturday during a roadtrip! Wilaiwan has a small rotating menu according to its website, but everything is authentic Thai food, from the vibrant color to the mouth-watering acid-spicy flavors! The service is friendly and cash seems to be the preferred payment method. I will come back as long as I can catch their opening hours.

This place is a gem! We missed our chance to try it out last time we were in the area, so on our drive up north today we made it a must-stop for lunch. We ordered ahead, which as other reviews say, we recommend. The food will sell out, especially in peak tourist seasons. The small and limited menu is actually kind of nice- easier to make a decision! I had the khao soy which was delicious and pretty spicy, and packed full of flavor. You can really taste the authenticity in each dish. My wife had the gwit diow hang and she requested it mild. I would recommend doing so if you're afraid of spice! Her dish was also incredible and we shared both. I absolutely recommend grabbing lunch here to-go or enjoying a seat at one of the few outdoor tables. The staff was super kind and you can tell they put their hearts into this little business. We can't wait to come back another time and try what's on menu for the week!

I adore places like this: three things on the menu, always good, open until they sell out. It's SPICY and there's no way to lessen the pizazz if you can't handle it. If you don't like spice, just get a cup of their delicious free tea and let your friends enjoy this magnificent experience. I can't recall the name of what I ordered, but ANYTHING there is good. The portions are generous without feeling like you need to be escorted on a cart. While they are closed on weekends, there was an affordable art sale on Saturday! I would drive hours just to come here again. It's worth the hype.

Usually I don't rate the restaurant before I'm finished with the meal, but here I am, halfway through my Tom Kai Ban typing away lol This place is great and serves delicious, authentic, and inexpensive Thai food. It immediately reminded me of the food from my stay in Thailand. Well done! Would recommend!

Amazing food! I highly recommend them. Great lunch spot. Big portions. Get there early, they sell out. Wish they did dinner too.

Amazing food with a strong level of spicy. Staff is kind even under the pressure of a busy restaurant. This is a must-stop in Montpelier.

I ordered takeout from Taste the Thai and it was DELICIOUS!…read moreI ordered the Pad Thai and scallion pancakes. The portions were more than generous and they tasted delicious. I'm in Littleton for work and had the food delivered to my hotel. It came quickly and was hot. I'm excited to have leftovers tonight and enjoy it all over again! Highly recommend!

Very friendly service and restaurant seems to have updated their decor in the past few months!…read more Menu is very varied and creative. Everything is so fresh! We had the eggrolls and duck rangoons as appetizers and this was perfect. Boyfriend rates the eggrolls as 2nd best he's ever had (after 123Dzo!). He also had his usual chicken teriyaki, loved it. Says the sauce is perfect, and he loves the sticky rice you can order on the side. We shared some salmon nigiri and I also ordered the orange blossom maki. Now - I'm not a fan of "spicy-hot" anything - I never use hot sauce, chili flakes etc - but I always order sushi rolls with "spicy" in the name such as spicy salmon, etc and it's *never* spicy hot to the point I can't eat it - but I've had this issue here in the past, and I should have remembered. Depending on your tolerance level for hotness... you might want to keep it in mind - both the spicy salmon filling AND the spicy mayo on top of the Orange Blossom are *very hot*. To the point I could only eat a couple of pieces. I would avoid rolls with "spicy" in the description, or ask if they can make it not hot next time. Other than that, food is perfect here. Bit of a lack of atmosphere - it's kid-friendly, too bright lights and no music but super noisy. But we will return!
