Came here for a university of Michigan alumni game. This is inside of a hotel and it was exceeded my expectations! The food was mediocre but I really liked the service and that they even had a founders (Michigan beer) on tap! It's wonderful that they welcome the alumni organization and I look forward to going to more games here! Would I go here just for a normal meal? No. But is it great for events? Yes. read more

If i could give it 0 stars i would Dont come here the HOTEL part is nice. But this restraining is run down always empty or closed and when they are open you couldnt tell the staff are rude and runs customer out. The hotel would make more money if they would just close it. Attached to a horrible hotel and the only option to get fed at that hotel, it is food truck fare at hotel prices. I didn't spend money at the bar because it looked pretty weak. I just bought booze elsewhere and shared it at the various room parties that accompanied the event. Breakfast was bad. While "free" it's still part of the cost of the room, so I expect it to be edible. The eggs were "off" and the potatoes tasted like they had been carried over from the previous day. Coffee and juice were fine, My dinner could not be billed to my room so I had to pay separately for $20 worth of chicken fingers and fries. The server was friendly and my beverage glass was never empty, but SHE is the second star in this review. If I had to swipe my card for that breakfast, I would have refused to pay for such poor quality. If you plan this for your first date, not only will there not be a second, but I suspect you will be forever alone. read more

Terrible. The service here leaves a LOT to be desired. Stopped in on a Sunday night for food and were ignored three times, including sitting at a table for 10 minutes with no service. None. Twice approached the bar and were told service would come. At one point came into the bar to find a seat and a disinterested waitress asked if we had decided on our food as she walked over to another table. Wow. I had a Groupon for this but getting a refund. I've been to Wilbur's before and it's all fairly overpriced and sketchy food, but it's inside a run down hotel, so that's what you get. Avoid. read more

This place can be flukey and should only garner 3.5-stars. We've been here and had very slow (basically inattentive) service and also occasionally missed orders (dressing NOT on the side, no refills, long-delayed check). And then we've been here other times where all was perfect. The rating reflects that. So when they are hitting on all cylinders it can be quite good! Their half-pound butter burger and side (fries, bowl of fresh fruit, or cottage cheese) is quite good and only $10. Their specialty corned beef and slaw sandwich on rye is consistently very good, but at $10 w/out a side, perhaps a bit pricey. Finally, the walnut, pear and goat cheese salad with spring mix and raspberry dressing is both scrumptious and huge... worth $11. Drinks come with refills. TVs surround the dining area and are tuned into different sports, and thoughtfully have volume off. Bathrooms are down the lobby hallway and are spacious and clean. Parking is of course free and plentiful. read more

We've eaten at Wilbur's four times. The first two times were with family members visiting Tucson. We enjoyed the experience enough that we returned a few more times by ourselves. Medium-sized food portions. My husband has enjoyed a few of their burgers, a steak, and on several occasions we ate pizza. My husband said the steak was cooked perfectly. The staff is friendly, professional and provided timely service. I made a special request for olive oil (due to dairy allergies) for my baked potato, and they happily provided it. I ordered a side salad and was pleased when they brought out one with spring mix lettuce decorated with thinly sliced carrots, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes. They provided the salad dressing on the side, rather than drenching my salad with it. To give a clearer perspective, I'll compare Wilbur's Grill to two other places we've eaten at recently ... Compared to EL CORRAL, Wilbur's food is better and costs less. The Cheesecake Factory has better food and a bigger menu, but costs more. In terms of ambience, we didn't feel rushed or crowded next to other tables ... we were able to decide WHERE we wanted to sit. We elected to sit in the "atrium" area just outside of the Grill (near the water fountains and elevators of the Viscount hotel). It was quiet, and our servers never forgot that we were out there. Our first visit was during Superbowl - for sports watching, Wilbur's is a good choice with all of their TV's. read more

Wilbur's is one of the best kept secrets in Tucson. We eat there an average of once a week. Their burgers and fries are the best in town! Their salads are very large and filling. I highly recommend eating here. Ask for Denise - she is our regular waitress! read more

Was staying at hotel. Excited to hear free appetizers at Wilbur's for happy hour. It turned out to be chips and salsa and watermelon which was fine. But, when who seemed to be the manager came by and grabbed a chip from community bowl that had tongues to serve with her bare hand. Then dipped it in buffet bowl of salsa and ate it over buffet. Not only that but then coughed in her hand and then reached in and did it again. Something tells me if that is her practice other health codes could also be violated in the kitchen. Gave this place an opportunity about a month ago due to a Groupon I purchased. Wasn't bad at all. Solid, but not spectacular. I ordered a French dip and my wife ordered chicken strips. Both were cooked well, but pretty run-of-the-mill food. Fries were cooked and seasoned well. Our server was attentive and friendly. I'd definitely go to Wilbur's again. read more

We had lunch at Wilber's. My wife ordered Mac & cheese with garlic toast and Cadillac margarita. I ordered a half pound classic cheese burger with fries and a coke. I was asked how I wanted it cook and I said medium rare . Food was cooked perfect and was right off the grill and complimented the waitress and chef. This restaurant is located inside of the Viscount Suite Hotel. Came here while staying at the hotel for a late night meal. We had to ask for a seat when there was barely anyone in the whole restaurant. We sat down and it took forever for someone to get us water, let alone take our order. There were a few other tables who they sat and took orders from while we waited. That got me really annoyed. Plus, we had to wait forever for just some soup, a salad and a sandwich. Finally when our food came... I was disappointed again. I had a crock of their chicken vegetable and rice soup, which tasted like it came from a can. The soup was very salty and had so much stuff in it that I barely was able to drink any soup. Although, the other people in my party's salad and sandwich came out alright. I would have rather stayed in my room and got room service instead of having to wait for the same food. I should have went to the nearby TGIFriday's instead. read more

A decent hotel restaurant, but with the perpetual $44 Groupon for $20, what a deal! Coupled with a 20% off deal through Groupon and you have a family feast on the cheap. The spectacular deal is what upgrades this place. Kind of feels like a dive bar inside since it's kind of dark. The food was decent, but plentiful. Portion sizes were satisfactory. Amy has had a long-running joke about the Viscount Suites (the hotel in which Wilbur's Grill is located). It involves mispronouncing the name like "viss-count," attributing an eastern European accent to the proprietors, and attaching the letter V to the beginning of words. Thus we get lines like, "Velcome to the Viscount Svites! Vee give you the best viscounts in town!" It's pretty hilarious. So you can only imagine how eager I was to take advantage of a real viscounted meal at Wilbur's Grill when Groupon posted an offer. ("Vilbur," if you did not realize, is the name of the vildcat mascot of our city's great vuniversity.) $15 for $30? We're there. Upon entering the hotel, we were immediately overpowered by a smell that was both bewildering and horrible. Bewildering because it smelled partially like some kind of cleaning solution; horrible because it also smelled partially like rotten things and vomit. We scurried into Wilbur's Grill, which unfortunately was not completely closed off from the lobby, found the table farthest from the door, and tried our best to ignore the remaining wisps of grossness. As it turns out, Wilbur's Grill is basically a hotel bar area with a bunch of tables and TVs in practically every direction. There is a small stage in one corner that could theoretically facilitate karaoke, and a large Vilbur head hanging on one of the walls. All in all, the level of refinement was about what you'd expect from a restaurant located in a hotel that charges around $75/night for a suite. The menu itself is pretty standard, with lots of beef sandwiches and a number of quite appetizing salads. Our server was the only one on hand on this quiet Sunday night, and she was actually very nice and accommodating to us while she juggled the restaurant's handful of diners. We had $30 to spend, so we started with an appetizer of steak quesadillas, ordered a Cobb salad and corned beef sandwich for dinner, and ended with rice pudding for dessert. The orders were pretty conservative, and what we ended up with turned out to be perfectly fine. Our water glasses stayed full, nothing came out any different than expected, and the salad was pleasantly enormous. Thankfully the smell of our food also eliminated any remaining memories of the noxious atmosphere outside the restaurant. I'd tell you more about the food itself, but you probably don't need to hear about perfectly average quesadillas, diner-style corned beef sandwiches, and Cobb's salads. For its part, the rice pudding was actually better than average, but not so good that I would order it if I didn't have a spending limit to hit. The bottom line: Mneh. So as far as we could tell, this is a totally acceptable place to eat, particularly if you're actually staying at the Viscount Suites. It's not somewhere I'd send someone for a meal, just given how many great dining options there are in Tucson. But you could certainly do a lot worse than this place, too. I doubt I'll be back, but then again that will probably have to depend on what kinds of viscounts they offer in the future. read more

What sets Wilburs Grill apart is the astounding service. They accommodated a large group from our office with ease and after hearing of a very bad experience with another restaurant, made it their mission to make our day better. The two servers and manager made sure we had anything and everything we needed and the chef came out personally to check on us and make sure the food was to our liking. The fish and chips may not be Ivar's but it is good - especially for our landlocked state - and they know to serve them with Malt Vinegar. This will become a mainstay in our rotation of eateries for weekly lunch gatherings. AT&T is the only cellular service that gets through but they do have WiFi for data. read more

Friday, 31 Jan 2020. Our group of 40 people ate at Wilbur's Grill in the Viscount Hotel after being screwed by Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant (4901 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ) at our 5:00PM reservation at Guadalajara. The management at Guadalajara demanded our billing would be to issue a bill for each group of 10 people, there would be no separate bills or couples bills. The 10 people in each billing group would just have to divide the bill among themselves. That is completely unheard of. The common practice is for restaurant bills to be paid by credit card. Only a few people still use cash. One individual immediately called across the street to Wilbur's Grill inside the Viscount Hotel and asked if they could take a group of 40 people at short notice. They said "YES!" and our entire group left Guadalajara and walked over to Wilbur's. The food at Wilbur's was great! We had absolutely NO PROBLEMS at Wilbur's. As a group, we spent about $1000 at Wilbur's in food and drink. That's $1000 that Guadalajara lost. No one in our group ever felt like going back to Guadalajara after being treated like that. The owner of Guadalajara needs to permanently fix his personnel problem. As for Wilbur's, the staff was excellent, even when suddenly, out-of-the-blue, they were confronted with 40 people all at once. When we got there after walking across the street from Guadalajara, most of the tables had already been assembled banquet style and set and iced water pitchers were on the tables. Only one more table set had to be assembled. Our waitress was excellent on all counts. The owner/manager of Wilbur's needs to commend and reward his staff for their outstanding job of taking care of our 40 person group at such extremely short notice. Wilbur's gets 6 stars, not just 5 stars! read more

We stay at the Viscount quite frequently and eat here every day when we stay as well as come in to eat while we're in the area. Some of the items on the lunch menu I wish was on the actual menu all the time. The servers are some of the coolest people we've ever met! Love this place!!! read more

Was here during Tucson Jazz Institute night. Wanted to get drinks and food but a server never showed up. The hotel and grill seemed completely unprepared to take care so many customers. There were not enough tables, chairs, or staff to care for paying customers. Really disappointing especially since this happens every time the grill hosts jazz night. read more

The Restaraunt is inside a five star hotel-- a real five star place--the Viscount--but the food is really awful. The name of the restaurant is "Wilbur's" about as ugly a name as you can have. But the food is uglier. We ordered Chips and Salsa, but the salsa was worse than canned Ragu, and it must have come from a can. I felt like I was twenty again and buying food from a liquor store again. The chips were worse than Movie Nacho chips. I could not believe it. I guess the owners don't know they are in Arizona. The Fajitas tasted like they used the wrong oil and I wonder who made them--really bad. We ordered a veggie appetizer also and the dipping sauce was basically a food experiment. The Margarita Grill is across the street and I suppose the owner of the hotel (something tells me his name is Wilbur, because there is no other way anyone would name a Restaraunt that name) does not see--but people can be seen walking in numbers to that other restaraunt! We tried it again and they cannot even make a sandwich. Do stay at this hotel--and you like yourself, don't eat here. The Margarita Grill makes salsa At The Table! I guess Wilbur never crosses the street. read more
