We went there dec 7th I ordered a hamburger well done and whe. I cut it it was pink. I informed the waitress I ordered it well done, she looked at it said oh my and took my plate. She brought my same hamburger back that was nooked on the same plate that I cut in half. We let her know this was not acceptable and to take it off the bill. She inform the owner cooked it and would not take it off the bill. Hostess came over and tried to give ut to us and we refused it again and requested to speak to the owner, she refused and had the hostess tell us to not come back. Looks cute, nice enough inside, clean and staff pleasant but my waitress kept repeating over the top compliments that started to become uncomfortable . Literally every time she spoke she said "pretty girl" she must have said it 30x -hello ? Has anyone ever told you that's so insincere hun That said, main reason I won't be back is the food! Not good. Love this restaurant. It has the best breakfast in the area. Home ground patty sausage and eggs (actually cooked the way you like them). You can get hash brown crispy or not. Have been having breakfast for years at Wild Berry. Recently (the last month or so), they have changed ownership and the quality of food and service has taken a huge hit. My last ever visit was this morning. I ordered Biscuits and gravy with sausage links. They have obviously changed brands of their sausages and they were not the same quality as before.The biscuits and gravy were sub par and the entire plate was served cold. There were too few staff to handle the patrons. It saddens me that this once wonderful diner has fallen so low. This was my favorite place to go until a very bad experience occurred. I took my sister there, and they got her order wrong. She ordered an omelet, but asked if it could be scrambled (for health reasons). The server asked the kitchen and they said they could scramble it. When served, it was the original omelet, not scrambled. We asked them to re-make it, but the kitchen said they couldn't scramble it cause it would stick to the pan! What?!! Can't get better than this for $7.99..YUMMY They have a board that they turn around for you when you sit down with all the daily specials, they always have a good variety of them. Being that I live diners and the reviews were good, I thought I would give it a go. All I can say is WOW! . I love the food! . I was in search for breakfast and I found it. Man did I ever. This is the kind of Diner I have been looking for since moving here! I had one of their specials that came with 3 eggs, double bacon (you can get half bacon and half sausage or all sausage or all bacon), hash browns, choice of toast, and since my son was with me we added one of their Belgium waffles as we were sharing. Was looking for a diner in which my girlfriend and I could refuel after the Mesa Sprint Triathlon and this fit the bill. It starts when the male host hands me the menus and says I'll carry those and grabs my girlfriend's hand and leads us to our table. When my parents arrive he inquires my mother's name and then does the same with them, pretty comical. I ordered the Southern Benedict, and man was it good. This restaurant must have changed owners because the quality of food has gone downhill. Was there over the weekend and ordered a sausage breakfast croissant sandwich. The sausage was raw so I sent it back. The cook stuck it in the microwave and gave me a shriveled burnt piece of meat on rubbery eggs! I left all the food on my plate and left there hungry and they didn't offer a different meal or take it off my ticket. We used to go there a lot with friends but they have now lost our business.... Today was our first and last time coming here. Initially we thought this would be our new brunch place as the prices seemed very affordable. Well... The food and service are well below par. Our biscuits were big, thick inedible rolls of bread. My pork chop was overcooked on the outside and rare on the inside. When I tried to send it back, they took my whole plate to the back, and brought it back to me after offering to put the chop back on the grill. They would not allow me a different meal, and wanted me to finish eating from the same plate they took to the back of the restaurant. And yes this is in the COVID era. The pancakes were hard and flavorless, the hash browns were overcooked and chewy, and the service was terrible. Probably won't ever come back here, don't care how cheap the prices are. read more

Our first time here and we were so glad we found this place. The place was great despite of three grandkids who are a handful, our server was super nice. They sat us right away, got us started with our coffee and water, gave the grandkids favors to keep them busy for a little and got our orders within 15 minutes. There are different themes for different food items on varying nights of the week. We stopped at Wild Berry Diner on "Greek" night. Thus, if you order from the specials board, you may just end up with a Greek version of a plate than what you had expected. This is what happened to us as some of the sauces on or toppings were seasoned to taste more like Greek food. That wasn't exactly what we expected. So, with that word of caution at least now you know. We didn't. That's not to say we didn't have a great meal. Eventually, we did. Other than the Greek food that was exchanged for another dish, the rest of the food was absolutely delicious. Wait staff was more than accommodating. Other than ordering food we didn't expect, the only other issue I would mention is that original food plates weren't issued at the same time. I really hate that when one person gets served and the other person's meal hasn't been finished yet. So, one person starts eating while the other person watches. Overall, we'll give it a 4 star but not sure if it should be rated a 3. I'm sure we'll try it again and adjust the stars at that time. read more

I noticed this place was close to my job so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a Cornedbeef&Hash omelette. A little disappointed to find that they scooped it out of a can. They may have a Greek flag hung on the wall, but their food is FAR from it. Service could have been better. The food and service was good but all the teenage girls bussing and hosting are GROSS! One busser in particular could not stop touching her face and scratching her hair and rubbing her hand all along her nose, she appeared to be very itchy, she was scratching her arms a lot and she'd lift her shirt up and hike up her pants. Another one sneezed on her hands and continued working with out washing her hands. The hostess was at the food hand out window touching her hair. Wild Berry Diner used to be my go to place for breakfast. No more. This restaurant has changed hands with new owners and has since gone down hill. I recently had a disappointing breakfast but a week later I gave them a second chance. Same order with the same disappointing result. I ordered corned beef hash with hash brown potatoes, eggs over and brown toast. I like my corned beef hash grilled well and my eggs over so the whites are cooked but the yolk soft. What I got both times was the corned beef hash was barely warm, the hash brown potatoes were floating in oil, the eggs were broken and hard and the toast was just warmed bread, hardly toasted. Before I said anything the waitress apologized as soon as she put the meal in front of me and stated she ordered it the way I wanted but the kitchen failed read her instructions. On my way out I thought I should mention it to the hostess who I understand is part of the new ownership. She immediately became defensive and told me "the owner" was in the kitchen and had cooked my meal. She then went on to stated that I was "one of those people who expect perfection". I don't expect perfection I just expect that restaurant owners have pride in the meals the serve. I predict this restaurant will go the way of the now closed Iowa Cafe that was also in Mesa. The ownership lost interest and the service and food went downhill and they lost their loyal customer base. Time will tell with the Wild Berry Cafe. I know I'll never go back. read more

We have visited many diners in over 20 states and this diner stands out for many reasons: Pancakes with a donut texture, light biscuits, classic peppery white gravy, potatoes that are lightly flavored, bacon to make your mouth water and nicely cooked eggs (nothing worse than over cooked eggs)! My 2nd trip in 2 days. Breakfast consisted of Sara's Omelet pretty good. Today was lunch and I choose the special Spinach pie and Greek salad. When it arrived I thought maybe I made a mistake but I still ate some of it. First off the lettuce was completely old. I thought maybe it was discolored by the balsamic dressing (basalmic on a greek salad?) but upon close inspection it was just plain old and brown! The Philo wrapped spinach was a greasy mess! Why I didn't say something to waitress (who was nice) I'll never know. I did say something while checking out about how disappointed I was. Most would offer a discount but Nooo. So I wasted $20. on probably the worst meal I've ever had or seen! I should've gone with my first instinct and lunched at the Red Mtn Cafe just a short distance away. read more

The service was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the peanut butter honey French toast and fried chicken togo. The cook must have forgotten the peanut butter because I heard the waitress reminding him, which was nice. I also asked for jam and she gave me the amount I wanted. They also packed a ton of ketchup and added utensils. Normally, I don't get utensils in my togo these days. However, the French toast wasn't that good. I was expecting fluffy toast coated in a ton of egg batter with a strong taste of honey and a gooey mess of peanut butter. Instead, the French toast was kind of hard because of the cereal coated on it. It also wasn't very sweet. They gave maybe about a tablespoon or two of peanut butter. I was glad I asked for jam. It really needed the added flavor. But the fried chicken was great. The batter was very thick and crispy, even after the drive home it remained crispy. The batter reminded me of hush puppies. It was very good tasting batter. The chicken inside was very flavorful and moist, and it wasn't greasy from the fry oil. I think the batter must have absorbed most of the oil. They were also very generous with the fried chicken sides. The only con really was the bathroom. It was really cramped. I'm really thin and it was still claustrophobic. read more
