We absolutely love coming here because the staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. They all seem to genuinely care about your pets and you can't beat the prices. I wish they had a better treat selection, but they have enough that you can find something for even the pickiest of eaters. All in all, top of our list as favorite pet store and we look forward to bring our dogs here every month when it's time to restock.

Some places I had previously patronized for supplies, boarding, and grooming- like 33rd and Bird in Manhattan and For Birds Only in Mineola- have sadly closed, and, when taking my first extended trip in a while, I needed to find somewhere new for boarding. After speaking to Tom on the phone, I decided to take my bird to First Flight despite not having been there before and it being a bit out of the way for me. I am so glad I did. The store is well-organized, brightly lit, and so fresh and clean. Immediately upon entering his temporary cage my bird was totally at ease and eating like a pig-- and couldn't have cared less about saying goodbye to me. When I came back to collect him, I also had his nails and beak done, and the grooming was gentle and expertly executed. I am sort of hesitant to entrust my bird to others, to a degree that I have sometimes avoided traveling; but after seeing what a nice time he had at First Flight, I'm confident that I have a great boarding option for the future and look forward to more anxiety-free trips.

Place has been around for years. Been there many times over the decades and gotten Birds before…read more They USED to be clean and the birds USED to be Healthy. After many years we Recently got a bird from there. The First thing we did was set up an appt with an Avian Vet. Things quickly turned bad as we had to rush him in for an emergency Due to rapid decline and weight loss. This bird was given to us with TWO Infections. A bacterial in the crop and a Fungal in the GI tract. After An Overnight Hospital stay, Multiple meds, and hefty vet bills, and an inhome incubator, we still don't know if it will survive. They guarantee a Bird provided you do weekly weigh ins. we did that for a few weeks before all this happened. Each week it lost weight. I even asked "is this bird healthy?".(This is only after a few weeks mind you) The response "yeah, I just think he's gonna be a little guy". The next Day we had to rush to the vet as the bird was at the bottom of the cage and weak as hell. They sold us a bird with TWO infections. A bacterial in the crop and a fungal in the GI tract. After an over night stay at the avian hospital, multiple meds, in home incubator , we don't know if he will even make it ,Or have a lifetime of health issues. Thinking back I noticed feedings there where one syringe is used (depending on size) for ALL THE BIRDS. From beak to beak to beak. And no way could formula stay at the required temp going up one row of birds and down the other.(My fault for not realizing that this should not be happening) THIS is where the two infections came from. No doubt In my mind or our Vets mind. (Who incidently has other clients with Birds purchased from there with health issues) Whoever will read this , PLEASE DO NOT Buy a bird from here unless you like Emotional stress and Financial hardship.
