Wild Fig Kitchen has great quality ingredients with not your typical menu item's and you can find some really good dishes here. They make everything in house with mostly local ingredients. On the counter as you walk in there is a small case with homemade baked goods, make sure to ask what they have or check it out for yourself. All of the baked good I have tried have been really good. On my last visit I purchased a piece of fresh made apple cake as I was leaving, it was very good. The apple cake had a sugary topping with walnuts cooked into the cake. This little eatery is located off Highway 41 in Coursegold and is not something you should just pass by, I guarantee it will not disappoint. The food is always great, staff are very welcoming and it's a must try in my opinion especially if you have never been. Wild Fig is only open for breakfast and lunch by the way. Inside is a small dining room with more seating on the outside patio which is shaded most of the time and there is a relaxing vibe to the area. The head chef is really nice and you can see him in the kitchen cooking most the time. What a wonderful find! Beautiful setting, lovely patio, friendly service, and everything was so good! Started w/ a latte, which was perfect. My daughter got the sweet potato hash with brisket and 2 poached eggs - so amazing! I had the gruyere and ham sandwich and side salad, which was really good, and my husband had the fried chicken w/ biscuits and gravy instead of waffles - excellent. Service was nice and the space outside is lovely to eat brunch especially during our trip to Yosemite. However, the food was pretty disappointing, especially the waffles. I ordered chicken waffles and my friend ordered multigrain pancakes with lattes and orange juice. Servers are very friendly but you order in the front desk and pay first before seating so we were confused where to get spoons and water although you pay for tip. Although that can be passed lightly, the food really wasn't that great. The fried chicken was good but the waffles were so dry and needed to be drowned in syrup to be edible. read more

Quaint charming dining room or outdoor dining with friendly staff and the bay food ever. My personal favorite is the Monte Christo but you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Just ate here on our way out of Yosemite, and it's a must-stop. The menu is definitely affordable and offers a solid mix of decadent or lighter options. We came on Sunday brunch and ordered the Mexican scramble, complete with seasoned black beans and tortillas, and the grilled veggie sandwich. After many hours of driving on remote farm roads, we arrived in the small town of Coarsegold to a collection of shops, a coffee shop, and this restaurant. We had been prepared to eat a picnic lunch but couldn't pass up trying this place out. I had the Wild Fig salad with spring greens subbed for arugula, figs, Goat cheese, and a honey balsamic dressing. Good salad but a little bit too heavy on the dressing for my taste (I should have ordered it on the side as I usually do). I ordered a side of focaccia- good but not the best I've had. Hubby had the special - a Patty Melt on sourdough with caramelized onions and Thousand Island dressing, which was excellent. The fries were served with a sauce of arugula, olive oil, and garlic. He also had the Ranch with dill - both were a delicious alternative to catsup. I was happy to try a few with both dipping sauces. Nice patio dining area. read more

Expected 2+ cups, got 1-, disappointed. Service was OK. Ambiance outside was perfect for a relaxed summer afternoon lunch. I had been wanting to try this place for a year or so. Finally stopped in today for lunch. Hubs had the BBQ Brisket sandwich which he said was great. His French fries were especially good! I had the grilled turkey with pesto on focaccia with a salad on the side. It was delicious. We sat outside under the large tree. It was a surprisingly pleasant setting. I hadn't been in this building since it was Alfonzo's hideaway, and we used to come and drink off the outdoor beer tap after hours when we were younger. They have totally remodeled, and they no longer serve Mexican food, thank god. The place is small, and seating is intimate. I could hear some older ladies talking about gross/inappropriate things for lunch talk and this is really my only complaint. Save it for the locker room ladies! It's all up hill from here! The food was absolutely amazing. I got a Cuban sandwich and it was so fresh and delicious that I wish I had 5 more of them to gorge myself on. I mean this place knows what they are doing. Prices were great for the quality of the food. I'm not gonna lie, this is the best restaurant in coarsegold, dare I say the mountain area for the price..... can you get better gourmet food? Yes? But you are gonna pay through the nose for it up here in this area. They have a great balance and that is IMPOSSIBLE to find these days. My friend got the coveted wild fig burger with goat cheese and all that, and he was blown away. He said it was "so amazing". His only gripe was that there wasn't more. We stopped here for lunch on the way from Yosemite back to the Bay Area and were blessed to find this gem in the middle of nowhere. This place is simply amazing and a perfect pit-stop. It's head and shoulders above the mostly fast food chain competition in and around Oakhurst. The food was great. We got tomato&basil soup, oatmeal, fried chicken sandwich, and almond pastry, and everything was amazingly fresh and tasty. The service was quick and very friendly. The tucked away patio was awesome, and gave a great feel of privacy and relaxation. We'll be back. Quality ingredients were used, but execution just a bit out of the norm for me. Hands down the salsa was very delicious. The star of the meal. I haven't had much of the dining options around. I would not expect from a cafe in a small town on our way to Bass Lake to provide such an amazing experience. We stopped by to have lunch during our road trip and we could not be any happier. Everybody in our party genuinely enjoyed their food. Very fresh ingredients and a lot of attention to details went into their food. They have a nice patio which was full but the tables are placed apart so you feel safe and pretty far from others. You order at the register and take your number and go find a table but on our visit one of waitresses set up a table for us as soon as it got available after we were done ordering. The service was friendly and overal great throughout our entire lunch. We also tried a lemon scone for dessert and it tasted as fresh and yummy as it looked. My only complain about this place is their station filled with all shared items including sauces, water, salt and pepper, etc. In normal times that would not been an issue but during pandemic the restaurants are expected to provide individual disposable items. I saw they disinfect the sauce bottles after each table leaves but I still think individual sauce pockets are more sanitary options. read more

This is a small piece of heaven, sitting on the edge of Hwy 41, in Coarsegold. The drive to get there from Fresno can be fraught with danger due to bad drivers on Hwy 41, but relax, take your time, and arrive at Wild Fig Kitchen knowing you will be treated with care and be served delicious food. If the the weather permits, please sit out on the patio, under the fig tree. It is quite lovely, and when the sun shines on the tree, it becomes fragrant, giving off that earthy smell of fig wood. The menu has many delightful dishes, and if you just can't decide, go with the Fig Burger. It is wonderful. That said by someone who is not a fan of arugula, but on this burger, it is perfect.
