Stopped by for take away lunch on our way back home from Yosemite and so glad we did! I called in my order ahead of time to beat the line of the dine in lunch rush. Wait was just as described over the phone and the staff was so kind and helpful. We ordered breakfast burritos, the brisket sandwich and chicken finders for the kids. Breakfast burritos were wrapped well and super yummy! Brisket sandwich had melted cheese and slaw which my son loved French fries on the side. Standard chicken fingers and fries for my youngest. Can't review the dine in portion as we had take out but I saw plenty of seating outside. Definitely recommend this solid restaurant as you pass through Oakhurst! read more

Our party of 8 (4 adults 4 teenagers) loved the food. Most of us ordered the French toast which was so delicious. Perfectly soaked and cooked! There was the 2 eggs dish, Mexican scramble, frittata, french fries. Also deliciously fresh. Coffee was smooth strong and not bitter. Line to order was a little long but it went by quickly and efficiently. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend and will return when traveling through. read more

Felt like a drive this morning and we got hungry. Caught this place out of the corner of my eye. Had the two egg plate, loved the sweet potatoes. Toast was served plain with no butter but not a deal breaker! We also had french toast was good, would have like a bit mor browned but overall very tasty. That Fig Burger is awesome. Every ingredient is balanced so you taste every one while letting the beef shine. So good. It made me forget altogether that I'd originally come for breakfast. Service like the kind we received from both the hostess and server is SO RARE these days. They didn't just get everything right and timely, they did it with genuine smiles and real personality. It really deserves to be called out here. Well done guys. The coffee is a local Miraposa roast, I think they said. Was so good I had 3 cups. Wild Fig Kitchen is a gem that knows what works and what they are good at. Simple menu, simple hours, food made with love and passion. We have been staying nearby Oakhurst all week and were getting tired of the same menu and ingredients in different locations. In part due to the nearby Ferguson Fire that has been burning all week and saturating the area with smoke, we decided to get out a little further and try Wild Fig Kitchen in Coursegold. We were not disappointed. Jamie gave us great service and the breakfast was awesome!! My daughters both got the French toast and they loved it. My wife got the basil frittata and she beamed with satisfaction. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles with a side of berries. The batter on the chicken was crispy and seasoned, the pepper gravy was peppered perfectly and the waffle was fluffy and delicious. After a long day at Yosemite, we were starving and decided to eat here. This place is cute, very quaint, there's seating inside and outside. The food was great! This is a great little cafe in the heart of Coarsegold village. First let me say the food is excellent, and we have heard from many people in my watercolor art classes how good the meals are here. It's about time Coarsegold has a nice place to go besides Subway or Pizza. We had Sunday breakfast, Father's Day, arrived at 9: right after opening. The patio seating was already full, word got out! We were the only ones seated inside at the time. There were not many wait servers to handle the crowds coming in on Sunday morning. About 9:30am, we ordered Brut champagne and OJ to make our own mimosas and placed our order at the same time. Great idea, but after waiting 45 min, and no order yet we asked for another glass from the owner, which came right away. Servers came over repeatedly to ask if we were still waiting. Another 30 min went by, and by now our late arrival friends seated next to us were served left. Now it is 10:15 , I stopped a server to ask about our order, and noticed when she went to find out about it our own server, pulled the order out of her pocket to turn it in, asking the cook to place it before others, then told us it would be another 10 min. Our breakfast came by 10:40, and it was very good.Our server appologized and when our bill came I explained to the owner our experience was not the best due to a mistake, She did appologize.. As we left, I also went to our server to say we realized things happen sometimes due to busier than normal customers and we will come back We did feel the owner could have reduced the bill a bit, ( glass of brut??) however we were not asking for anything. read more

We stopped for a birthday breakfast in October and it was wonderful! The Mexican breakfast plate was amazing. They really put effort into each dish. Highly recommend the lemon bars. This is an unexpected delight for a small mountain community like Coarsegold. The sandwiches are consistently so good and the sides are also delicious. My personal favorite is the turkey pesto sandwich with the fruit side. My husband loved the turkey club and our friend loved the hamburger and fries. The patio is delightful. Their commitment to only using high-quality ingredients and not shirking when it comes to quality, just to save a few pennies is incredibly refreshing. If I could give less than one star that's what I would do. We came in from out of town for the weekend, and it was about an hour before closing time they were extremely busy. So I walked up to the lady at the cash register and asked her if we needed to give our name, because nowhere does it say you need to give your name just a lot of people were waiting. I came to Coarsegold to visit some good friends. I was hoping to take them to breakfast, and it just so happened that this place had recently opened up, and my friends had not yet visited it. I'm from San Jose, and we have our share of "trendy" breakfast places that make food similar to Wild Fig. HOWEVER, the food was even cleaner, made with great ingredients, had amazing plating, and just tasted great! Honestly, it is in my opinion, better than the Bay Area. We sat on the lovely, outside patio. I ordered the French Toast Monte Cristo, and OH MY GOODNESS, lovely sandwich, good bacon and cheese, good eggs and fantastic French toast whos crust is even delicious. The best part of this sandwich was a pepper and honey mixture they gave me on the side, which just takes this sandwich to another level. Apparently, this was a new experiment, the adding of the peppered honey, which our whole group made sure to tell the owners, "KEEP DOING THIS!" I'll be back to Wild Fig, next time I visit Coarsegold. And make sure to talk to the owners as they are about as friendly as can be, and their staff is warm and attentive. P.S. Good coffee, too! read more

What a special find. The brunch was incredible. I had eggs Benedict with bacon tomato and greens. Delicious. Jeff had the monte crust French toast. He shared. It was served with a pepper infused honey, WOW. Also have wine and beer at a great price. Update something is different at the Wild Fig. The last two visits it was an hour before we received our food. And at our last visit we both had the fig burger our favorite. But it was not as usual the burger was very dry and one of the pre pressed burgers so disappointed. Hope this is not the new normal. read more

Just went to this place and left. They are not using good safety practices and staff are either not wearing masks or wearing their masks below their mouths while preparing and serving food. When we asked one staff member to put on her mask, she basically said, "You can go somewhere else." They should be shut down by County Health until they replace staff and follow state law. Don't go there during the Coronavirus emergency unless you want to put your health at risk for a cup of coffee. read more

Eh. I wanted to like this place so much! My bf and I were vacationing near Yosemite and wanted a great brunch. We drove about 25 minutes to Wild Fig. It's cute, had a nice patio for outside seating, and everything seemed fresh. We may have just ordered poorly, but we each got a variation of the burger (I had the Wild Fig version with goat cheese) and were not impressed. Sad, unseasoned meat pattys. Service was slow, but nice. I'd choose somewhere else next time we're there. One bonus - cute shops all around. Got some good soap and lotion :) read more

We were in Madera for a family get-together and came up to Coarsegold to eat Sunday brunch at Wild Fig Kitchen. We arrived just before opening, which was good because the place started filling up by 9:30, partly because it was still a little chilly to sit outdoors. But there is a good reason why people seek out this place. It is a great place. It's that simple. The inside is rustic without being overly cute. There is a pastry selection up front along with a menu board. Our server was happy to tell us which items were available only on Sundays. I had the Swedish pancakes, while the others with me ordered the French Toast Montecristo, and the Sweet Potato Hash. All of it was delicious. (Well, I can only go by what the others said since I don't eat meat). My pancakes were truly crepe-like, not thick like you get at other places that attempt this dish. The berries were fresh and juicy. It was not overly sweet, and the syrup on the side (if you need that extra sugar shot) was genuine maple syrup. The coffee was delicious with real cream, a must-have if you are going to indulge on a beautiful Sunday morning. Want to know how much we liked Wild Fig? We live in San Diego and are looking for an excuse to head back up to Coarsegold just to eat there. That should really say it all. read more

I went on yelp and reviewed the menu looked at the pictures and decided when I went into the little tiny restaurant that is so charming I would order not one breakfast but twi because I had to taste the Monte Crisco and I just had to taste the fritters. So glad I did of course I came home with a doggy bag. My little girl had the French toast with a side of fruit and ate it all up. Well hubby opted for the fish tacos, which were a little fishy. This place is just delightful! Not only is everything fresh and delicious, the service was fast and attentive. Love the menu, we ordered the soup & salad (soup was puréed kobocha squash) and he had the brisket sandwich, which was tender and flavorful. The beer selection was awesome too! Tried a new brew, which was recommended and they didn't steer us wrong. Had a great experience. We will definitely be back for more great food and fun times. read more
