As a long time customer of the Wild Fig this is a tough review to leave. But, after 2 bad encounters I feel I have to provide some constructive feedback. Two Sundays in a row we placed an order to go. A simple order for two alads. Both times our orders were not placed into the system so when we arrived to pickup our to-go order, it was not even stared. So, we had to wait 30 minutes. That is uncool. The Wild Fig needs to hire more and more capable staff. Most of the staff at Wild Fiog are great, with one expeption. They are growing but risk losing customers because of situations lke this. Wish I could have given a higher rating, but the services was lacking, and they charge tip, when you put in your order at the front, without really knowing what type of service you're going to receive. The food was good, but nothing special. The lady taking our order made a mistake, and luckily my son caught it. She was cold, also 2 ladies cut us in line, and they started to chat them up like no else was there (the owner/head chef) and they were given water with ice (it was a hot day) and when I asked the lady taking our order for water, she said it's available in the back (aka self serve.) Staying in Oakhurst to visit Yosemite. The restaurant options are not great. We made the short drive to Coarsegold to eat at Wild Fig. The pics looked promising. I had Maple Latte and Wild Fig Salad. This place is great! Stopped for Sunday brunch here on the way back from Yosemite. They have a walk up counter where you order and then they bring the food to your table. The food came very quickly after we ordered. The staff were all quite friendly. My whole party enjoyed the items we got (Swedish pancakes, French toast, 2 eggs breakfast , and avocado toast ). Quick Summary Easy parking and nice outdoor patio area (although can get hot). Food was a bit mediocre and they also forgot one of our group's order. Food- 3 stars French toast Monte Cristo- this was pretty disappointing. Turkey was dry and the sandwich really just didn't work at all. Very sloppy mix of french toast, apple, turkey and syrup. Brisket sandwich- this was ok. I liked it alot more than the Monte Cristo, but it's basically a standard brisket sandwich Service- 3 stars Service was decent for me, as I was able to get my food pretty quickly in this fast-casual environment. However, they did forget one of our group's orders completely and despite checking on the order twice, they finally admitted they lost the ticket and cancelled the whole order Ambiance- 4 stars Some indoor seating with a large outdoor seating patio, which can be nice when the weather is nice. There are a ton of flies and the place did get pretty hot, so wasn't the most comfortable Bottom Line It's decent. The biscuits and gravy are to be avoided by anyone with a sensitive stomach or expensive dental work as it was overloaded with whole black peppercorns. Whatever meat was used in making the gravy was undetectable. The Sunday Special Monte Christo featured sliced pears, without much flavor, as filler, along with a few small bits of chicken and two slices of bacon, between soft, eggy 'French Toast', served with a spiced fruit dip that also included lots of seeds. Everything was presented so well, you can tell that the chefs take pride in their cooking. The flavor of everything was so delectable, and every ingredient was fresh. We sat outside under the shade of an umbrella and the vibe was so relaxing, perfect for a Sunday morning before a long drive home. They had some soul tunes lightly playing in the background that set the vibe just right. My son had the pancakes with a side of apple sausage and they were fluffy, sweet, and delicious. My wife had a custom made omelette and she loved it. I also had a mushroom Swiss omelette and it was one of the best I've ever had. I was hesitant to get it because of the arugula, since arugula usually takes over whatever dish it's in, but I appreciated how they cooked it down to make the flavor more mild. The potatoes were well seasoned and delicious, the only critique I have is they could be slightly more crispy, but that's preference! On the way to Yosemite we stopped off at the Wild Fig Kitchen for lunch and we were happy for it. A patron recommended that I order soup and that was a fantastic recommendation- I tried the asparagus soup as a side for my Fig Burger. The soup was excellent - creamy and flavorful but well balanced. My fig burger had fig jam and soft cheese along with arugula which all went together like peas and cornbread. My family opted for breakfast burritos and avacado toast which all looked lovely too. Service was a delight. There is tons of outdoor space to eat but we stayed inside and the ambiance was very homey. This is clearly a well loved restaurant and I only wish we lived closer so we could come back. read more

We got the Gruyere Ham Grilled Sandwich (warning: VERY spicy mustard like nothing I've had before) and a hot Chicken Croissant (very fresh and light!) with fresh Tomato Basil Soup and also very acidic/sour Balsamic vinegar arugula salad for sides. Beyond the locally sourced and fresh meal, everyone in the town were super friendly and welcoming to my senior pup, even having conversations with us from tables around us in the front patio corner (it's like we were all dining together!) I was more than pleasantly surprised. The waffle was the Best I've ever had. The Fried chicken was a large Breast, cooked until perfection. The Fried chicken was cooked perfectly the Breast was large and tender. Super moist. Comes with pure maple syrup and delicious pepper gravy. I highly recommend this restaurant.
