Wow! Add Wild Fork to stores I never knew existed, but is stoked to find out about! With the closure of my go-to grocery store - Amazon Fresh just down the street - I've been scouting around the area for my next food spot. I liked the single-serve salmon portions, as well as ready-to-heat-and-eat meals that Amazon Fresh had. Someone recommended that I check out Wild Fork - also on Brookhurst (at Adams) - so off I went! I stopped by on an early Sunday morning - so luckily, the parking lot was practically empty, as was the store. Immediately upon entering I noticed how bright and clean the store was, wide aisles, everything was organized in its own little section. I started off on one corner and just browsed my way through. Nina - one of the store clerks here - chanced upon me and asked if I needed help finding anything. I told her it was my first time - and she took it from there! Extremely friendly, warm and welcoming - she explained the store's color coded system, pointing out the exotic meats section (they have alligator/crocodile here!!), beef - including wagyu, pork, sausages (they literally have two freezer sections of sausage/chorizo), meals/appetizers, and my favorite section - seafood/fish. After I shared with her my sadness over Amazon Fresh closing - especially because I liked their single-serve salmon portions - Nina pointed out their salmon offerings, and mentioned that their salmon portions are also single-serve, flash frozen (so they stay fresh longer) - but showed me how they were individually wrapped within their own packaging. I picked up a few salmon entrees based off Nina's recommendations, and my own tastes. I know a few people have raved about their frozen pasta meals - so I grabbed a few of those boxes too. Checkout was a breeze - Nina helped me at checkout and shared that the store occasionally has BBQs on the weekends. Wild Fork is definitely a new favorite - hoping to come back and check out the other offerings depending on how everything I bought turns out! Very good place for quality meats. They even had grass fed / finished beef! I only got a few things b/c I am expecting a food delivery from home chef. But got organic marrow bones, and 6 sliced top round steaks I will make into bulgogi. There were Kosher young chickens (whole), and lamb chops I wanna try next time. This venue has decent pricing on a full variety of frozen meats, seafood, and even a small selection of game meats. Check their website before going to see if there's any specials or sales that day. You can also pre-order online for store pickup too. The staff was friendly and helpful when I entered, before I started browsing their frozen aisles. The store is clean, brightly lit, and neatly organized. The Asian gentleman who is handling the red tent is very nice. I noticed how patient he is to older customers who aren't familiar with scanning a QR code for a chance to win a $25 gift card to Wild Fork. This place has some exotic and high quality protein. I don't mind that everything is frozen as I'm used to getting frozen meat supply through Butcher Box. This is where I come to fill the gap if I run out of my meat supply before the next shipment from Butcher Box. My first visit to Wild Fork was at the one in Laguna Niguel but started coming to this location because it's closer. The store is very clean and well organized. I like the fact its display cases are always clean without any condensation and fogging, making it easy to view all items. Some of my regular items I get are Mary's air chilled chicken thighs, jalapeño & cheddar bison sausage, and sablefish. All staff members have been friendly and helpful. read more

Just bought some razor clams (which I had never heard of), duck, octopus, rabbit and lamb. Stopped by Wild Fork to grab something special for Easter lunch. Staff was super helpful explaining the various cuts of meat and seafood options. Bought 2 boneless New York strip steaks. The meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. I had to take off stars because of the "deceptive" packaging. One of the steaks had a HUGE amount of fat and silverskin on it. The inedible part was folded and tucked under the steak, so it only looked like a thin strip. The steak, in total, weighed 12 oz. The inedible fat portion, that you can see in the photo, weighed 4 oz. That's one-third of the steak! What was left was delicious, but what a rip off! read more

This has been my go to location to stock up on meats for my household. I have never been to this location so decided to make a stop. The store is pretty big and has a great selections of meats to choose from. My favorites include the ground beef, chicken strips, and some of the steaks. Some items can be on the pricier side but the quality is phenomenal. Staff is there to recommend their favorites and to let you know what the deals are. I honestly think this is the best meat specialty store I have ever shopped at. I found the best quality ground beef, boneless lamb shank (hard to find at most supermarkets), ground duck (you will rarely ever find anywhere), beef kidneys, etc. The store is super clean. No bad meat odors you find at butcher stores. Incredibly clean for a butcher store. The selection of meats are the best I have ever seen at supermarket and meat store. It was my first time ever coming to a wild fork and it definitely won't be my last! Just make sure to plan out your meal accordingly because everything is frozen so you'd need time to thaw out your meat. Other than that, the selection of everything is AMAZING! It was awesome being able to see so many different meat and seafood options where we can cook at home to save money. I spent $12 on bone marrow that just roasted at home for with some bread and arugula. I got a 2lb tomahawk for $60 roughly and it was absolutely delicious feeding two of us. WAY better than going to a steak house and paying double or triple amount of the price. (although I need a meat thermometer because I wanted it more medium but that's my own fault ) Service was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I like the selection they have here and the girl that greeted me at the door when I walked in was super friendly but the guy who rang up my purchase didn't utter a word and had a sour look on his face like he did t want to be there. It is convenient to shop variety if meat from here. Sometimes the deals are really good and you can get great prices. I prefer one stop for all groceries shopping therefore can't visit here much often. Having veggies and other regular groceries there could have helped for busy people. We discovered Wild Fork several years ago online when looking for quality meats. We had ordered from other meat services as well but Wild Fork stuck with me for their wide assortment of options form the standard chicken, beef, pork and fish options to their more exotic meats such as alligator, elk, quail, wild boar, duck, yak, foie gras, emu and so much more. All of their meats come flash frozen, and the prices are quite good to match. The meats are very flavorful. Of the highest quality, and they have a good assortment of frozen veggies and accompaniments to go along with the proteins. Please note that they do not sell produce, breads, or condiments here but do offer a large array of seasonings and spices. I love their salt/pepper blend in the shaker as this makes cooking a cinch. They have good quality chicken breasts and steak options as well as select frozen meals such as pizzas, empanadas, pastas and desserts (the desserts are not my favorite and we found them a bit lacking in flavor). This is definitely my go-to market for meats now that they have opened up several locations across Southern California. This allows me to get the same quality I love without buying online and having to pay shipping. I absolutely love this store and recommend it to any meat connoisseurs out there looking for a quick and affordable option without having to go to a butcher. But it's all frozen! Yes, all the meat at Wild Fork is frozen, but the quality of the freeze is very good, as they use a proprietary "blast freeze" process that takes the meat quickly down to -30 degrees Celsius. This strongly reduces the freezer burn effects that you see on traditionally frozen meats. Now the good news: Wild Fork actually stocks all the odd cuts that a real cook might require: short rib and chuck and porterhouse and skirt steak and any other odd sort of cut. Unlike your neighborhood grocery, they also sell USDA prime cuts, which are a little harder to come by nowadays, because the hotels tend to snap them up. I ground Wild Fork chuck with some short rib. The result was exceptionally high-quality burger, perfectly fine to eat raw by my "really really rare" girlfriend. Given that the cuts are such high quality, AND given that the cuts are reasonably priced, this is now my go-to meat supplier in the OC. Wild Fork wins! read more

Only downside is that all meats are frozen so you'll have to thaw the meat out before using. Have purchased steaks, prime ribs, brisket and beef ribs here and meat is always good. Wild Fork is Disneyland for the meat connoisseur. Their dazzling offerings range from vanilla beef, pork, and salmon to the truly hard to find cuts of prime and exotic meats. For instance you can get A5 wagyu, elk, venison, and even alligator. Today, I was eyeing a suckling piglet for our next holiday meal. Every item is frozen, which I don't mind since my meats usually wind up in the freezer anyway. Without freezing, they probably couldn't offer the depth and breadth of meat and seafood without astronomical costs. And on the topic of value, the pricing is extremely reasonable. There is no way to get around paying north of 100 dollars for wagyu. For ordinary items like pork tenderloin, you will probably get a better deal at Stater Brothers or Albertsons. But for frenched rack of ribs, duck foie gras, or Berkshire pork, you will probably not find more value elsewhere. For instance, my local butcher prices picahna at $20/pound. At Wild Fork this week, they have a special for $7.50 a pound for Angus choice grade. Of course, YMMV depending on the specific item. Final word, bring a cooler and ice if you are traveling any distance. They do sell insulated bags and ice. I was able to keep my items solidly frozen for three hours this way. read more

I was a little skeptical when I finally came in and found everything in the shop frozen rock solid. I did read that they have a unique freezing method that doesn't affect the quality of the meat. The ham was a major let down. We served it after it thawed and it had the most mushy texture and very little flavor. This is my second review. this of the small sea scallops. I made these in th same style as scampi and served w rigatoni. my grandkids completely cleaned up. Mygranddaughter took one look after saying she never had scallops before and sated " I do not like those". I said this is dinner you need to eat.
