First experience there I'd have to give it 5 stars. We went for lunch on a Saturday. It's has a great feel with good music. The food was fantastic. By far the best crab Rangoon I've had. We both got the pick three sushi lunch. We got hot and sour soup which was amazing. The sushi was good. We had 6 different rolls and they were all pretty good. The price was nice too. We were suspicious of any Asian restaurant with "bistro" in its name but we're tired of the conversion of so many Chinese restaurants to the buffet format so we decided to give it a try. In summary: The atmosphere was OK but the tables a bit small; presentation was excellent [a five] and prices reasonable but we had issues with the food. First, the good news: the steamed dumplings were quite good, among the best we've had, and the sauce almost the best we've ever had. The egg roll was good, but no hot mustard served with it; thus, I was unable to do my [sinus-clearing!] "hot mustard ritual" as I am a spicy food lover. I ordered a two-piece eel sushi as sort of an appetizer but it came AFTER the main course was served and was not properly prepared: there was no soy sauce available to mix the daikon with for dipping the piece into prior to eating, and, worse yet, when I picked up a piece with my chopsticks it fell apart! The rice was not nearly sticky enough to prepare a decent piece of sushi with; a disappointment, as they had an extensive sushi menu. But the main courses were the real disappointment. My pad Thai had a confusing mix of flavors, as though the chef couldn't make up his mind as to how he wanted it seasoned, and the noodles were indifferent. Honestly, I should have known better and stuck to the "safer" lo mein for a first-time visit. But my wife's phoenix and dragon, while beautifully presented, proved a major disappointment to her. We're used to that dish being essentially a multi-vegetable one with shrimp and chicken pieces. Here, it was just breaded fried chicken breast lumps that were VERY ordinary; Cane's chicken fingers are better, honestly. Furthermore the shrimp, while adequately sized, were in a saccharine-sweet sauce [as was the chicken] that was too cloying for my wife to eat. No mention at all of it being sweet on the menu, and she doesn't like sweet foods. We had the remainder boxed up but then changed our minds and left it on the table, along with a standard tip, as it wasn't the server's fault the food was not up to par. Would we come back? Yes, actually, but only for a huge order of their wonderful dumplings. I'd go for some sushi, but only with some soy sauce and the understanding that I'm sending it right back if the rice is crumbly. And also for some green tea ice cream with red bean sauce; not an easy thing to find on the menu in these parts. read more

I really want to eat here. I loved the food at konami before it changed ownership and the name to this Asian fusion. Twice I've gone in and left due to the music. The first time about six months ago, was a slightly off station techno music which is NOT relaxing. The second time AC/DC was playing... Seriously who eats to this kind of loudness? Also the employees take all the close parking leaving the guests to have to park further away, not much and a little thing but that's says to me they don't really care about their customer experience. Maybe I'll give them another chance if they don't close before then... Too bad though, we need a good Asian food place that doesn't cost the family $100.00 (kanji). Absolutely amazing. We usually go to Columbus for asian food as until now there were no good options in Lancaster. Everything is made to order. We had wonton soup to start, great flavor, fresh and bright. Sampled the hot and sour soup as well very good. Crab rangoon was fantastic, wrapped uniquely with a very delicate and light pastry. We also had General Tso's Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Both were executed perfectly with extremely fresh quality ingredients. Huge portions as well. We will definetly be going back regularly. Walked in on Saturday evening at 6:30 ish when another local spot failed miserably. Asked if we could be in and out in an hour. Place was not too crowded, so in we went. Everything was excellent! Steamed dumplings, check; Pad Thai, check; Japanese eggplant, check; Cashew nut with chicken, check; you get the idea!!! Delicious unfiltered sake! As we left at 7:45, the place was full, with the lobby full of waiting diners. Extra kudos to the staff for doing their best to accommodate our party of 6 in a short timeframe! I had a bad first experience here. I came with a group of 7. I called in two hours ahead to let them know we were coming. When we got there, they made us wait for an hour and a half. My friends seriously considered driving hald an hr to pickerington to go to Thai Paradise if we had to wait one more minute longer than we did. As two tables of four next to each other opened up, they sat the two families who came long after we did first! We were so annoyed because they should have pushed the two tables together and sat our party first! Then the waitress messed up our checks. It turns out that they messed up in the kitchen and accidentally put another party's order between our orders so two of our friend's orders didnt come out until an hour after our! Our food were cold! the whole thing was just a disaster. Still, my husband wanted me to give it another shot when it was less busy. We went again and I just thought the food was just average. It tasted American Chinese, but couldn't hold a candle to a Pei Wei or PF Changs. read more

So the way I see it, ratings are a direct result of three things. Ambience, service, and food quality. This is my second trip here. The food is amazing. You'll pay a little more but it's worth it! From the sushi to the classics (like general tsos), its fresh, quality, food. The ambience leaves something to be desired. The music was loud and while I love Queen as much as the next person, I like to hear the company around me too. The service though, this is what killed it for me. No dress code so I wasn't sure who to ask when we were ready to order, needed something else, or wanted refills. All things that happened and after 15-20 minutes of no service, I had to go searching for a server. If they had been busy I would have let it go but we were the only table there. Since our first trip was great (except the sushi bar being closed) and this one was so terrible, I'll go back once more to make a decision but no promises after that. read more

This Lancaster restaurant is wonderful. We had dinner there for my son's birthday. The wait staff was well-informed and attentive. They have an interesting beer and drink list, and out waiter had good recommendations. The crab rangoon appetizers were fabulous, just as our waiter, Christian, said they would be. The food is absolutely wonderful at Wild Ginger! On my fiancé and I most recent trip we ordered the shrimp appetizer, the pecan chicken, and three assorted rolls of sushi. All of the items that we ordered were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! The service was okay at best and is where I see the most room for improvement. The restaurant was empty and we still waited to be seated, drink refills were slow and the wait to get your food was a bit long. Other than those comments this place is delightful! read more

This restaurant is the former Konami Grill. It's a bit cleaner but still dark and definitely needs some new flooring. Alas the food hasn't changed at all - it is truly horrible. I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup and Orange Chicken. Soup was thick & flavorless; no meat or fresh veg at all. I simply couldn't eat it. The Orange Chicken was just as bad. The chicken was old & dry and the sauce cloyingly sweet. The server delivered the bill and asked why I hadn't eaten much; I told him it was all truly awful. His only response was to push the bill at me and say maybe I'd like it better next time. The Manager overheard and, much to my amazement, insisted on comping the meal and apologized. Goodness me, sad to see that nothing has changed. read more

Dinner tonight was excellent, our server Trisha was great and we experimented with a number dishes from across the menu. Appetizers, sushi, entrees all excellent. Night was a little slow at the time so we worked across some specialty drinks made be Mariah (Red) who was gracious and created some very tasty concoctions. Overall experience was just great, we had six adults and all were thrilled! Highly recommend this place! Will be back soon! read more

If you are looking for good sushi, keep looking. This was some of the worst sushi I have ever had in a restaurant setting hands down. Let me start out by saying I love sushi. I have been eating sushi for 16 plus years and love it all from the simple California roll to the more exotic uni with quail egg. Over these years I can conservatively estimate that I have eaten at no less than fifty different sushi bars and Japanese steak houses. Basically I know good sushi and this was about as far from good as you can get that is safe to eat. The sushi rice was horribly under seasoned. It was completely bland and void of any the traditional flavors imparted by rice wine vinegar and sugar, and you just cannot make decent sushi with bad rice. This is sushi making 101 if you can't make good sticky rice than you have no business calling yourself a sushi chef. If only that was the only issue I had. The knife work on the fish was sorely lacking in any skill that any basic sushi chef should have. The pieces were not only poorly cut but were sadly out of proportion to the rice. I was presented with large tattered strips of fish on top of a messily ball of under seasoned overworked rice. Now if you are going to bill yourself as a sushi restaurant, please take the time to educate your servers about sushi, ours new absolutely nothing. After coming back to the table twice to tell me that they didn't have what I ordered from the menu, I asked about a spicy tuna hand roll. He had no clue as to what I was talking about. I have never been to a sushi bar that didn't have or even know what a hand roll was. I could keep going but I think I made my point. If you're looking for good sushi heck if you are just looking for decent sushi, this is not the place for you. read more

Our Millennial son and daughter in law turned us on to this restaurant. They fell in love with the sushi and the staff and convinced us we would enjoy it. I am not a fan of traditional sushi so we decided to go as a gift for our son's birthday. We were impressed with the dedicated and genuinely excited and helpful staff, the vast menu of Asian creations, creative sushi offerings, and a menu that allows for the whole family to dine and not be limited to just seafood, chicken and sushi... The chef prepares the sushi creations up front for you to see, truly a culinary sushi artist. We tried two offerings and we both (my wife and I) became addicted at first bite, especially anything with tempura. Operationally this place is clearly in the baby-steps phase with inconsistent slightly long wait times for the food, limited wine selections, the staff is somewhat uneducated in how to make good mix drinks and martinis but once you know that you .The atmosphere is an inexpensive makeover of the previous restaurant and the operations are still being fine tuned but that is understandable considering they are still young and probably want to make sure they have something that can warrant increased capital investment. The menu is a bit pricy but we feel it is well worth it. This place will eventually evolve into a complete, high-quality, full service restraint but for now it offers the best sushi and other menu items anywhere in central and SE Ohio and that is enough for us to return. read more

Went this past Saturday with family - party of 6. We had reservations for 6:00 and arrived a few minutes early and had a drink at the bar. Bartender was efficient but not overly friendly - kind of acted like we were bothering her. There was a party of 8 leaving and the hostess said they would clear the table and seat us. Our table was cleared and we waited, while several other parties were seated. Still no one seated us. I finally had to ask the hostess to please seat us since our table was ready. Waiter was pleasant and helpful. Everyone ordered appetizers, but only part of them came - had to wait a while for the rest to arrive. Ordered entrees - same thing. Some of our entrees arrived, while others at our table had to wait a while for theirs. Service was kind of dis-jointed; felt like we were eating in shifts! However, food was very good - would definitely go back - maybe just the two of us on a week day when they aren't so busy. read more
