We have visited Wenatchee quite a few times and had never tried Wild Huckleberry. We went on a Saturday around 10:00, the place was hopping. We did have to wait around 20 minutes for a table but I expected that for showing up at a prime breakfast time. The hostess was very friendly which made the wait a lot easier. Having a happy friendly staff really changes the energy and feel of the restaurant. The hostess told us about the gift shop on the lower level. The shop has a lot of nice things if I was in the buying mood I would have purchased a lot of things. We were sat at a cozy little table for 2. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. I ordered a Bloody Mary that was AMAZING. For brunch we decided to go with a burger because my husband has a Instagram for just burgers. We thought it would be fun to go out of the norm. The cheese burger came within 10 minutes cooked perfectly with lots of melty American cheese. The bun tasted home made and held the burger together nicely. The lettuce. Puke have been fresher. I just took it off. The burger came with a choice of fries,salad or soup. I chose the French onion soup. It was incredible everything a French onion should should be. Tender onions, rich broth and lots of melted Swiss cheese. I like the soup better than the burger. All and all it was a great visit we will come back next time we are in Wenatchee. read more

Wow, very impressed with this small hometown, home style diner. It's in a converted house which is always a vibe. Pretty good parking in the area and a good parking lot across the street. I arrived on a Monday around 12pm and was seated with plenty of nice spots! The server was very attentive and everyone was exceptional with customer service. The biscuit and sausage gravy was so delicious - will definitely return to have it. The pancake was huuuuuge! Great price! I didn't get any toppings so it did become a bit dry by the end but I'd recommend a topping for sure. The ambiance is great, service is 10/10, and food was nice! How to best describe, an experience I hope to never repeat. 10 out of 10 do not recommend!!! Ordered crepes, they arrived burnt, tasting of dirty burnt grill grease, they were tough and rubbery. Let's discuss my next menu item, biscuits and gravy; no flavor, I think bisquick's got something on their biscuits. Eggs ordered over easy, arrived overcooked and broken yolk. The one thing I can say in their favor was that they were generous with the bacon on the plate. Word of advice given to the owner please clean your dirty burnt griddle. I can honestly say the food destroyed my appetite, it would be best be described as vile. Both myself and my guest decided that it would be better to eat some nasty fast food joint, feeling it would have tasted better. Uncertain as to where all the glowing reviews are coming from? Whenever we come to Wenatchee, we always stop here. It's a family favorite. This restaurant is in an old house. As much as it looks cool and it's part of the experience, it feels small/cramped. They don't take reservations and often time there is a wait outside. But it's all worth it! They have really good food-don't sleep on the biscuits! The wait staff is always friendly and the portions are good. The pancakes are HUGE. They use a local coffee roaster-Tony's from Bellingham for their coffee. There's a cute gift shop down stairs with local goods. There is some parking In the back (maybe 5 spots?) and the rest is street parking. We went again a few weeks ago and had a nice breakfast. I ordered the biscuits & gravy, but our grandma's French toast looked absolutely amazing. I don't think you can go wrong with your choice there! read more

What a gem in downtown Wenatchee! Wild Huckleberry hit the spot after a morning meandering the trails at Squilchuck State Park and Mission Ridge. I was feeling bummed that I wasn't able to reach Marion and Clara lakes because I forgot my spikes (there was still snow in areas). But the great food, service, and great deals I got at the boutique very much made up for it. It was packed for Mother's Day; lots of people waiting in queue. The staff was on it though! I got there just shy of 11 am and was seated by 11:30 am. I had time to peruse the boutique downstairs and scored a cute jean jacket and sweater for 50% off. Then the best part - the food. The Granny Smith omelette was delicious - I never would have thought to put apples in an omelette. I also got a side of the huckleberry Belgian waffle. Be warned - it is massive. Yum. I washed everything down with some warm cider, complete with a cinnamon stick. Service was speedy and friendly! Overall a must brunch spot for anyone visiting Wenatchee. read more

I don't usually write bad reviews, I just end up not going back. Unfortunately, my husband and I came back to the wild huckleberry as we had a great first time and food ( breakfast) was amazing. This was our second attempt here and it was busy. It didn't take long to get a seat, but once seated our waitress didn't come to our table, someone brought us water and coffee. We sat there for 10 minutes without acknowledgement. There was a table of 10 seated after us, they ordered before us and still our waitress didn't acknowledge us. Someone came by to see if we wanted drinks we already had. My husband and I gave him our order. My sandwich was great! My husband ordered the chicken cashew sandwich it was full of cashews and salad, very to little chicken. Sadly we thought we found a good brunch place, but when we visit Leavenworth again we will not be stopping by again, I can forgive a bad day for the kitchen and will try it again, but I cannot go back where the customer service wasn't there. We have been wanting to visit Leavenworth for 16 years, yes, 16 years! We finally decided to make the drive up from Portland, but we didn't want to stay in an expensive hotel in Leavenworth. We stayed in Wenatchee, which isn't too far from the town. We spent the evening exploring Leavenworth, and then came back. We didn't want to go back just to get breakfast so we found this place to visit just down the road from our hotel. Holy moley! We are so glad we stopped in. It is in a cute little house and so very cozy inside. We were seated in the back area with lots of widows to enjoy looking outside. We ordered two regular eggs Benedicts, one avocado one, and one pancake stack. The eggs Benedicts were amazing! And you get a side of hash browns, yum! My son ordered pancakes. OMGoodness. He didn't finish them until we were nearly home to Portland...five hours later! They were massive. You can his hand in the pic for comparison (he's 13 so not a tiny guy's hand!). If we lived here, we'd definitely be back. The prices were fine for the quality and service was amazing. They checked on us at least 6 or 7 times to make sure we were good and didn't need coffee refills. Small town charm at its best. Loved this place! read more

Verdict: GO HERE FOR BRUNCH! Bring your family! Make it a weekend meal! 1) VARIETY/SELECTION: 9.5/10. If you're a fan of breakfast/brunch, you will like this menu. It's a two-sided menu, one side with more lunch-ish items and the kids menu (for the non-breakfast type), and the other side with all of the BREKKIE OPTIONS! I'm talking country breakfast, "huck special", omelets, eggs benny, belgium waffles, breakfast hash, and don't forget the sweet & savory! 2) FRESHNESS: 10/10. Oh man, if I lived in Wenatchee, I'd be going here almost every weekend (at the minimum). I got the huckleberry waffle and a short stack of the french toast (THANK GOSH, it was friggin' massive). For a group of 8 people ordering brunch, even with drinks (mostly hot cocoa or coffee) and food, AFTER tax and tip, came out to ~$25 per person, which, for those counting at home, is a VERY GOOD DEAL, when you consider the size of group, and quality/variety of food ordered. 4) SERVICE: 8.5/10. It was sometimes difficult to get refills or specific requests (such as when one of our party dropped their cutlery on the floor, oops), mostly due to the ratio between guests and wait staff, but they were generally attentive. I do think it could have been better; especially around finishing off the meal and getting the bill (this last one took a while). For the folks waiting, they may get frustrated because a seated party has finished their meal and wants to close out (so the table can be turned over), but the wait staff is inundated with existing requests they're trying to fulfill. If you take it easy on the wait staff (especially some very picky people that ask for something, then when you get it, you ask for ANOTHER thing, instead of asking for both the FIRST time, and wasting more time), and help them out where you can, everyone will have a better experience. 5) CONSISTENCY / FIRST IMPRESSION: 8.5/10. I'll note that this place does NOT take reservations - so you gotta show up to get in line! The parking situation here is not really that ideal - there's a limited amount of parking, street or "dedicated", so you may end up having to walk, which can be challenging if it's raining or your mobility is constrained. read more

Went with friends while visiting Washington State. They were super busy and the wait was about 30 minutes. But it was worth it the food was amazing, I could not eat it all. The veggie omelet was delicious great flavor the hash-browns were yummy too and the biscuit was also amazing. On our last day in Wenatchee my wife and I decided to go for breakfast at this very popular restaurant. This looked like a small family owned business and they had not only a restaurant but also a boutique in the basement level. Pretty cool! The restaurant was really easy to locate and as soon as we entered we were greeted and seated within 2 mins. Our server was really helpful and and made some great recommendations. My wife and I started with drinks. Both of them were great. My wife found the alcohol in the coffee a bit overwhelming but it was not a bad cup of coffee! I got a chocolate milk with whip cream. My wife got a Bailey's & Coffee. The Veggie omelette was really good and it was full of mixed veggies and had the perfect amount of cheese. It was very filling so my wife didn't really get a chance to try the French toast, which btw was a side that came with the omelette. The Bacon was really tasty and it was not to oily. It had the perfect amount of salt. This was a side for my huckleberry waffle (Must try!) The Huckleberry waffle was absolutely delicious. This was the first time I ate a waffle without sugar syrup. The waffle had a ring of whipped cream, with approximately half a cup of berries and 1/4th of sweet creamy mascarpone cheese. This dish was absolutely mouth watering! With the service plus the food plus the portion sizes I give this business a 5 star review. I would highly suggest this place to tourists/ visitors. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yummm ; visiting out of town, we decided to get breakfast from Wild Huckleberry on our way to Leavenworth. Unfortunately, it was only to-go, but I was able to wonder around inside a bit. It's almost looks like an old fashioned home and the inside is beautiful with a gift shop. We ordered the food online so it was ready for pickup when we got there - FYI their hours are 8am on Sunday. The gal was so friendly and nice, and with everyone that came in- the whole staff was great!. The food was delicious too- we got the patty and eggs, French toast, and waffles. We got strawberry compote with the French toast and my husband ate it right out of the carton. . What a special treat for him. I noticed they had fancy mimosas and I wish we weren't driving so I could've enjoyed one ( I'll try to make them at home) Honestly, it was all delicious and scarfed it down! Every time we are in Wenatchee or Leavenworth we eat here or Big Y. Their portions are huge so if you order a full breakfast consider splitting. It's weird but my favorite things are any of the Benedict's or the oatmeal. They are always busy so don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table or flag down a waitress for extra napkins. When I go to Leavenworth for the Oktoberfest or the Christmas market, I always stay in Wenatchee and eat at my favorite restaurant, Wild Huckleberry, for breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is what I love the most. It doesn't matter how big or little your party is, you can expect to wait a long time due to the small size of this establishment. Since my sole visit was on a Sunday, I can't speak to how it is throughout the week or on weekends without special events. The friendly service and homey decor remind me of my childhood in the South, and I love coming here with my family. Plan ahead for parking as there are few available spots in the area. When it comes to the menu, I tend to stick to the same selections. The one with the vegetables in it. You can choose between home fries or hash and toast for your meal. Because I prefer variety, I order a combination of hash browns and home fries. The hash brown is one of my favorite sides. I can't explain it, but it tastes great and is neither too hard nor too soft. The omelet was satisfactory, but the hash was the highlight of the breakfast for me. After a mildly disappointing evening in Winthrop (where there were only two restaurants open and about 100 people waiting to get into each) I was craving some good brunch the next day and looked to Yelp to guide me. When I saw a pic of Wild Huckleberry's bloody mary, I knew I'd found the right place. After a gorgeously scenic drive through the Methow Valley and along the Columbia, I arrived at WH just after they opened. There was about a 15 minute wait and I was seated outside on their front patio and soon my bloody mary was in hand. Adorned with spicy green beans, asparagus, peppers and (of course) a lovely slice of bacon it was just what I needed. I also ordered the "mini eggs benedict" which I was so glad to see on the menu - so many places have HUGE portions and it's hard for me to eat that much, especially after finishing the "salad" atop my bloody mary! The eggs benny was passable, though the hollandaise was a bit on the lukewarm side. It definitely filled my need for brunch, and soon I was on my way. When I left, I noticed the line outside had grown tremendously - I was glad I arrived early! When in Wenatchee and in need of brunch, this is definitely the place to check out.
