Tucked inside a cozy converted house in Crown Hill, Wild Mountain Café feels like brunch at your grandmothers house. With limited seating and a warm, lived-in vibe, this spot turns comfort food into a full-on experience. The iced latte went down smoothly and too fast. It was their daily special for five dollars with iced coffee, amaretto & Irish cream. Then came the parade of plates: eggs Benedict in two style, classic with bacon, avocado and tomato, and a smoky salmon lox. Both were blanketed in silky hollandaise and paired with crispy potato cakes that could hold their own in a snack showdown. Scrambled eggs with spinach and mushrooms brought a healthy balance, gluten and dairy free, while the fruit bowls added a splash of color and freshness. The burrito was smothered in enchilada sauce, flanked by refried beans, salsa, and sour cream. It was bold, messy, and completely worth it. The cinnamon rolls. Massive, gooey, and crowned with cream cheese frosting, displayed right when you walk in. If you go early you can get some good deals on drinks and go hungry, and don't skip the cinnamon roll. Also I saw a near by table order the breakfast casserole and the Mac and cheese. it was huge and creamy. I wanted to order the Mac and cheese but didn't want to roll out of there with all those carbs but I was a little jealous. The service was amazing too!

Northwest Lox Benedict -- asked for my béarnaise sauce on the side.

Eggs Benedict with Lox remains my favorite but there's hardly an egg dish there that I have not found delicious and worth eating. Service is attentive and coffee refilled in timely manner and the warmed cinnamon bun might be to die for. Cost home interior with tables and chairs that feel like a comfortable dining room. But be prepared for the wait on weekends.

Coming from the Eastside looking for great breakfast haunts across the bridge. Picked Wild Mountain from some recommendations from a Seattle foodie group. I'd give the ambiance an A, and the food a solid B/B+. Cute venue in an older style home, with some obvious pride in their offerings. I don't think there is anything unique about their menu, but a great variety of standards, and what they do, they do very well. Their cinnamon rolls are phenomenal! Hot, with a well balanced icing and a good fresh yeast and spice. 10/10. The eggs Benedict, I would say, was very consistent. Perfectly poached eggs and scratch-made Hollandaise. But thin Canadian bacon, on a Bays muffin, and the Hollandaise had no lemon (personal preference). Fruit cup was great, but the potato cake was not at all creamy and was loaded with garlic. I would go again if I was in the area, but wouldn't cross the bridge for it. Like I say - a very solid breakfast joint. Service was exceptional, and very attentive.

Really lovely servers! They also are responsive to messages and responded right away to let me know that dogs are allowed in the patio. We sat there at their little table, and it was partially shaded and fully covered. They have a cute little dog bowl as well. The food was good and they have a decent sized breakfast menu. Plenty of vegetarian options and a handful of vegan and GF options.

Heavy, stick to your bones brunch fare in a Homey, family oriented interior. Gluten-Free eggs benedict ($17.25) - I got these because they were served on the garlic potato cakes - omg, these are like crack. If they don't come with your entree, get one on the side. Eggs perfectly poached with a rich, buttery hollandaise. I don't like Canadian Bacon so that was okay. The homemade cinnamon roll was phenomenal ($6.75). Get it. Warm, fluffy dough with delicious cinammon flavor and gooey cream cheese icing. BF got the La Cabana ($16.75), I tried a bite and it was okay. Warm, inviting staff. If you come for brunch on a weekend you will likely have to wait.

This cute brunch spot is all about the comfy cozy vibes. It's a historic mountain house-turned-cafe, so dining here was a super unique experience. My friend and I dropped by during the long weekend so there was a decent wait (~30 min). We ordered the Veggie Bennie and the Pimento grilled cheese (from the seasonal specials menu). The grilled cheese was great, but the Eggs Benedict wasn't particularly memorable and was a little bland for my liking. The garlic mashed potato cake that it comes with, however, was flavorful and creamy!

My friends took me here while I was visiting Seattle and I enjoyed it quite a bit. They were busy but we got a table immediately, and the wait wasn't long at all. Our server was super friendly and personable and always made sure our waters were topped off. The food was fantastic! I got the Cure All Mac and Chz with bacon and mushrooms and it was so so good. It was also a huge portion so I had lunch for the next day, which was great for me since I was travelling that day and didn't have time to go out for food. I also got one of the baked treats that was a special that day, and it was also delicious. The overall vibe of the restaurant was cozy and comfy. It felt like a cage that you would go to in the mountains, it felt very much like a cabin in the woods that has the best food you've ever had. I will definitely be going back.

TLDR: the carb options were the best part of this meal, egg dishes not as memorable. Potato cakes and cinnamon roll were particularly excellent! The potato cakes are basically flat topped garlicky mashed potatoes, and the cinnamon roll was soft and served warm. I also loved how they had house made strawberry jam for your toast option! Each had a unique twist to it and we were very happy about what we ordered! For egg dishes we tried the kitchen sink scramble which was nothing special, as well as the cabana. It's basically a Mexican breakfast casserole. There were 4 parties ahead of us on a Sunday at noon, but the tables turned over relatively quickly.

This place is adorable. A converted craftsman home into a breakfast spot. There is two set of stairs to get to this place with a small table for outdoor dining. All parties need to be present to be seated. It gets crowded but you are able to get seated fairly fast. We sat at a two top in the bar and enjoyed the Piggy Patty Pile French toast and Greta Garbo with two seasonal alcoholic beverages. Greta Garbo is their gluten free Benedict and so delicious I didn't leave anything on the plate. Service was attentive and kind. Would for sure come back to check out their other menu items. Tips: would be great for earlier before the crush but they move tables quickly. Stairs would be an issue for accessibility folks and they have street parking :)

We were hungry and wanted something quick to eat and so we decided on this place...well we definitely did not get our quickness as our food took really long time. We ordered take out and got the southern breakfast burrito. The burrito was fine, it came with a lot of eggs and some chicken sausage and cheese and chiles. It also come with a side of refried beans, sour cream and salsa. The burrito and bean was definitely on the bland side as well. It definitely needed salt. I had to use all the salsa to get some flavor in it. However, for it being around $16, I kinda expected more because it was a very simple burrito with pretty standard tasting.

Came here for brunch Saturday morning (If you come early enough, they have early bird specials before 9am FYI) We got a cinnamon roll to start and ordered a couple of breakfast entrees. The cinnamon roll is fantastic! Highly recommend. B.A.T. Bennie - this is a Benedict with bacon, avocado and tomato. The bennies come with a single garlic mashed potato cake and a side of fruit (kind of wish they'd come with two potato cakes like their other entrees, but oh well). The hollandaise sauce is on the lemony side if you like that. The bacon was good. Egg yolk was pretty runny (I asked for it to be cooked medium, they said they are all cooked medium - so was surprised by the runniness since I saw some review complain about the yolks being too hard). Biggest complaint with this was the quality of avocado used. One Benny had completely brown avocado, some of the pieces were bordering black and I had to pick it off. The other Benny was on the brown side but I ate it anyway. I would think they would inspect the avocado being used but I guess not. La Cabana - this is the baked breakfast casserole served weekends only. It was pretty tasty, but unfortunately it was served lukewarm and on the cold side. We asked for it to be reheated again which they accommodated, but it was still not very hot. The como bread is a great toast option! Overall, I think the menu is pretty epic with tons of options I'd like to try, and the cinnamon rolls are super yummy, but the brunch entrees seem to be hit or miss with quality control and execution which I was a bit disappointed with.

Based on availability, I probably could've walked in around an hour later and been fine, but didn't want to risk it since they only make like 30 in a day. To my great surprise, the dish came out just a couple minutes after ordering. It seems like the pie is already pre-made and they just pour korma over the top before serving. The server assured me that one would be for one person, so we each got one. From the moment it's presented, this looks like nothing you've seen before. The colors of the beige korma washing over the sturdy brown pastry is just a visually striking image. What's even crazier is there's so much that's obscured by this initial plating - things that you find out as you dig into the dish. After the first layer of pastry, the dish descends into a massive layer of lamb neck meat. And when I say massive, I mean the meat is so densely packed together into this pie you're left wondering how they fit so much into what's not a big shell diameter-wise. So, how is everything? It's amazingly good, at least for the first 3/4ths of the meal. I have to start with the pie crust, or the pastry shell, which is just perfect. The way it retains its shape, refusing to break down until real pressure is applied, is ridiculous. The texture is incredibly sturdy, and the taste is phenomenal. No matter what was placed inside this crust I would still enjoy it. It's crunchy, buttery, the inside wall is flaky, and the absolute highlight here. The korma is also very good. While certainly a westernized version of the sauce, lacking any spiciness and turning way more on the sweet side, it's still got enough flavor to be a great complement to the main pie. I do think a more acidic and spicy would've help offset the fattiness of the center item, but this sauce was still delicious on its own. Lastly, the lamb neck was great. Super fatty, of course, but braised to perfection, resulting in meat that's tender and melt in your mouth. Like I mentioned, there's an insane portion of meat here. Of course, this is all great until about 2/3 to 3/4th through the pie, where you begin to really feel the effects of an insane overload of fat. I can eat a lot of food, but this really started to wear on me. Here's where I have some slight issues - I think a) the inability to counteract the fat present and b) the amount of lamb neck needs to be toned down a bit, as ironic as asking for less meat might sound. One might have the attitude that if they're paying so much, might as well give them the most meat possible - but in my opinion, the best dishes are truly about balance. And when you can't expect someone to eat a dish and feel good about it afterwards, that's not the hallmark of a great dish. This could've been avoided if the server had mentioned that one pie could be split between two people, but that's not what she recommended. This resulted both me and my companion not finishing the meal, which I absolutely hate to do, but I was left with no choice in this case. The other part is the price. Each pie cost $50 each, which is a significant amount. Additionally, there was a 22% automatic tip even for a party of two, which is just way too high. The server didn't even tell us about this automatic tip which resulted in unintentionally tipping more on the tip pad. I would not hesitate to refer to this restaurant as overpriced. Overall, it's a truly inventive dish that's one of my favorite things I've eaten in Seattle, but the price and portion complicate things slightly. 9/10

There is no online sample menu for LB's breakfast that I was able to track down, so from memory they are currently offering: the English Breakfast (standard size), the Full English (which is 2x the English - pics included in post for comparison), steak and eggs, a biscuit breakfast sandwich, the Scotch egg (same as the one on the dinner menu), and an assortment of smaller plates (Bubble & Squeak, English muffin with rhubarb jam, porridge with fixings, etc.). They are also serving Bloodies and a variety of N/A beverages. Overall, we liked the English options - the standard size is plenty of food for the average appetite. I did not care for how strong the warming spices were in the black sausage; the spices were the predominant flavor - I like to taste the minerally undertones of the other ingredients. That's just a personal preference though! Bubble & Squeak was very tasty - a fun vegetarian option, or a good side for the table to share.
