The restaurant accommodated our requests for certain seating, DJ staging, decor etc. They helped pick signature drinks and the staff were friendly. You know those stereotypical millennial man bun burger restaurants with the string lights and truffle fries? This restaurant quite literally checks ALL the boxes for the stereotypes, especially the prices. When I say all, I literally mean ALL. This is the most "stomp clap hey" and "just 2 guys with a crazy idea" restaurant ever. The food is good, but the fries are disappointing unless you order the truffle fries (of course they have truffle fries). The experience overall is good. I like the aesthetic, and the service was good. However, you'll be walking out with an empty wallet, so I wish you good luck. You're paying double the price for food that, in my opinion, tastes worse than other chains and local restaurants. Only go here for the cool indoor aesthetic, the river, or the bar. Don't coke here for the food. PS: The French onion soup is 40% cheese, yet it's $13 (which is more expensive than a bowl from Chipotle with steak). We started out with wine and a red sangria. My husband and I shared a delicious Thai salad as our starter, while our friends enjoyed sharing the Caesar salad. For our main dishes our table ordered the Plum Chipotle Salmon, Spicy Shrimp Pasta, small plate of Sausage Trio and Crispy Brussel Sprouts. It was a great evening with friends. Been here twice. The first time was for dinner and it was top-notch. Got the wild mushroom ravioli and it was seriously one of the best in town. We also really enjoyed the caprese bruschetta and the desserts. The second time was for Easter Brunch and the experience was regrettable. The fixed-price menu they posted online looked really good, but the execution left something to be desired. This included: -yogurt parfait and bite-size pastries starter: both looked like they came from the cold case at a mid-grade grocery store. "Bite-size" meant a whole danish cut into 4 pieces with one piece per person. -bagel 2 ways (avocado and lox): the amount of toppings on each bagel were laughable - like they only cut a quarter of an avocado and smeared it on. The lox was somewhat better but the caper/salmon ratio was off. You'd get more from an Einstein's bagel at a fraction of the price. -raspberry sorbet: this was so sweet that I had to abandon it midway. Overall, I'd suggest skipping any kind of special occasion brunch and sticking with the main menu. read more

When a friend wanted to meet here for lunch I was hesitant, however despite that I was unimpressed it seemed that enough people enjoyed their experiences that the restaurant has maintained a steady clientele. I'm glad I agreed to dine here again. The day we went the weather was a perfect late spring and the patio was packed. We were lucky with our timing in that there was no wait and we were promptly seated. Service was solid and the menu had lots of appealing options. They made me another burger and the server said she would come and check on me to see if it was cooked right. So I won't be ordering that pasta again. The Brussels sprouts were good but I wished they didn't use that ranch sauce dressing. I would have preferred a balsamic glaze with some umami flavor instead. The "special" that evening was the steak and it was so tough it was barely edible-better quality (much better) if you buy your beef at Costco or Sam's. The beat salad with arugula had no arugula-spinach only, The scallops came with a corn -we couldn't figure out what-from the can. The drinks-house specials were light on alcohol-and consisted mostly of mixer. To the credit of the manager he listened to our concerns and took something off the final bill. We started off in the bar area while waiting for our table, catching a bit of the Duke vs. Houston final on the TVs. The bar had a laid-back atmosphere--lively but not too loud--which was perfect after a packed day. Once seated, we were lucky to get a spot by the window with a view of the bridge. The dining area has white tablecloths, which gives it a nice touch of class, but it's not overly formal--just a comfortable, relaxed space that still feels special. There's also outdoor seating available, which looked like a great option, especially on a pleasant evening. The menu had a wide range of options. We all took our server's recommendation and went with the pork chop for our main, and we shared an order of mussels to start. The mussels were excellent--served in a rich, beer-based broth with chorizo and tomato. The sauce was packed with flavor, and dipping the bread in it was addictive. The pork chop was a standout. Brined and perfectly cooked, it was juicy and full of flavor, with a nice sear on the outside. It was definitely bigger than the 14 oz listed, so come hungry. I paired it with a glass of Chianti, and it hit the spot. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out in good time. We made a reservation online, which was simple and smooth. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality and portions. Overall, Wild River Grille delivered exactly what we were hoping for: great food, a relaxing setting, and a smooth dining experience. Great for a nice lunch! Went with my Daughter and Grand daughter for a nice pre-spa day belated Mother's Day lunch! We chose to sit outside on a nice sunny day. Umbrellas covered the entire patio area and we realized it was a little cool with a breeze and were wondering if we should go inside when a server came and asked if we wanted some sun. We said yes and she put several umbrellas down and we had a nice sunny spot! Beautiful by the river walk so we were happy to stay outside! We started with a cocktail, they have many fun drinks to try, I chose a white wine Chardonnay which was chilled and smooth. My girls each got a cocktail I forget which ones but they enjoyed them! The menu has something for everyone and also a gluten option menu which both my granddaughter and I ordered from. We started with gluten free crackers with caprese on top which was a good start to lunch and went well with our cocktails. I had amazing shrimp tacos with corn tortillas which came with some freshly made tortilla chips and a salsa. All very tasty! A very popular restaurant on the Riverwalk located at the corner of S Virginia and the Truckee River. Our reservation was in the late afternoon and we opted for outside dining. They sell by the glass a wonderful, full-bodied 2021 Cabernet Franc from AV Vineyards in Alexander Valley, CA. This is one of my favorite red wines and this is the only restaurant that I know that offers it by the glass. A bit pricey ($21.00) but I treat myself to a couple of glasses to round out a highly anticipated culinary experience. This time I ordered the Land n Sea plate which is a one hefty, extremely rich dinner. It consists of sautéed filet tips, shrimp, linguini, spinach, balsamic vinegar, sun-dried tomato, parmesan cheese, bleu cheese alfredo, and 2 pieces of garlic bread. This was more than a meal. It was loaded with beef tips and at least 6 or more medium sized shrimp. The bleu cheese Alfredo sauce is thick, flavorful, garlicky and is the ingredient that binds this meal into a delectable, very flavorful marriage of all the ingredients of this savory meal. It was a very generous serving, frankly enough for two persons. The Wild River Grille has great menu choices, ie, seafood, beef, pork, elk, some vegan and vegetarian options, a small plate menu, scrumptious salads and desserts. It has a very well rounded wine list and a variety of adult beverages available. One of my top 10 go to places for lunch dinner, or drinks.
