I tend to call ahead of time to see if he has specific things I'm looking for and Dennis will usually be pretty good at letting you know if its available. One time he also found something after I called and he followed up to let me know he found it and saved it for me. It is a smaller shop and may have more of an eclectic variety of livestock but they seem to carry quite a bit of equipment. I do wish it were closer so I could just make an easy trip to check things out but it may be good that its further for me as I can't always buy new things.

This is a smaller LFS that focuses on saltwater/reef tanks. They have quite a few frag tanks with various softies, LPS, and SPS corals that all seem healthy and fairly priced. The staff has always been super patient and helpful when I have questions or when I just want to browse. They've been nice about letting me be particular when choosing specific fish/inverts/corals. They're also very knowledgeable and helpful, especially as I'm still new to this side of the hobby. It seems like Oceanlife is a staple among reef keepers in the area and they've definitely built relationships with folks. People get greeted by first name and seem to be able to special order things as well. All around, it seems like what you look for in a LFS!

What attracted me to this place is that the store is super clean and the prices are generally better than any other marine-life store in the Houston area. The staff is always super friendly, professional and knowledgeable which I am so thankful for as an aquarium novice such as myself. I planned on returning on Saturday to buy a tank, plants and gravel etc because I would have assistance that day. Through much searching I found a beautiful, peppy and responsive male beta. I purchased him that day along with food etc. I was going going to house him in a temporary home till Saturday. Unfortunately Friday night I had an incident with my fridge so I could not come back to purchase the set up. So now my betta is housed in a 1 gallon with a filter. I do plan on coming back later to purchase a 2 gallon or 2.5 gallon as I originally planned. I highly recommend this place they have a wide selection of plants, fish, plants and shrimp! I purchased a used Kessil light from Fish Gallery--not an open-box item. The light was originally…read morepriced at $469, and I purchased it for $429 after being told it was used. When I bought the light, I was informed that it did not include the original Kessil power adapter. A store associate provided me with a different 90W power adapter and assured me it would work. Unfortunately, after getting home, I discovered that the adapter did not work with the light. Since I needed the light immediately, I had no choice but to purchase the correct Kessil power adapter online for $45 and pay for overnight shipping so I could use the product. I contacted customer service to ask if the store could reimburse me or provide a $45 store credit for the replacement power adapter, I received no response after this request. What is most disappointing is that I spent over $1,000 at the Fish Gallery on Fountain View that day, and it appears the company is willing to lose a customer over $45. In addition to the missing original power adapter, the used light was also missing its original hanging hardware. This experience has left me very disappointed. I expected better customer service and support, especially considering the amount I spent. It's unfortunate that such a small gesture to correct a problem caused by an incomplete used product was not considered worthwhile.

He called his boss and told them my tank was in amazing shape and that all silicone was in great shape as well (I have a recording of that). I also have him saying that he couldn't fix it right then and there bc he's in salary (but thought it was ok to leave my brace hanging in the water). He said he or someone else would be by to fix it in the morning. I received a text from the boss man saying that if I wanted it fixed, they'd charge me a repair fee AND I had to buy the silicone. Great CS, right? NOT!!! I expressed my dissatisfaction and he then just quit writing - yet charged my CC for the full amount next day. A $30 dollar fix will cost them 100's if not 1,000's in negative PR.
