Part of the reason why it took so long was because a bus of ppl coming from a wedding were given priority, which I guess is how it's supposed to be but it still took way longer than it should've even after they went in. The music was whack bc while they played a few bangers, they kept looping the same thing over and over again so the same 30 seconds of one song was literally played for 6 whole mins wtf. ALSO there were so many damn crusty guys at this club. Oh my god so disgusting. I feel like I am covered in filth instantly among entering here. Also the bathrooms that you must wait ages for are absolutely DISGUSTING on a whole new level. Truly a place of filth. Please for the love of god clean those effing bathrooms. With the cost of drinks I know a proper cleaning service can be afforded. Great service, awesome crowd fun atmosphere. I would recommend this to anyone looking to go out on the town and dance and have a good time. This is a very fun, and happening place. There's a area outside where there are pool tables if you want to shoot some pool or just hang out with friends to smoke a cigarette or just mingle inside the dance floor is amazing. There's a disco ball like the whole get up, they even have dance cages, which I thought was pretty cool. I didn't see anybody in them but maybe next time !! I just experienced Wildcat for the first time last night. I recommend this place to anybody who wants to have a blast even on a Wednesday night. This place is pretty packed. Wildcat lounge is so much fun. All of the staff I've interacted with have been exceptionally friendly and kind. The bartenders are really nice. Robert (the manager?) is super nice. And even the guys who work the door are really cool. I heard there was one guy that used to work here who was a violent hothead, black dude with no hair, but I think he's gone now. I've gone four times now, and the crowd has been really good. Even on a wednesday with less people, it was still a fun time. I love how there are people of all ethnicities and sexual orientations; it's not like LA clubs. Everyone mixes well. And the layout is great for giving you the option of meeting new people or just getting a table with your own crew. What a great place. Highly recommended. read more

On our trip to Santa Barbara, we were walking State Street, then saw the neon lights of this place down the way and had to stop for a drink. We were there on a weeknight, so, not at all crowded. Lots of open seating. The bartender was very friendly and immediately got us started with drinks. Loved the décor and the atmosphere. Leaving this review now - I am so bummed we missed coming here on a night with dancing! I also had no idea there was a patio! I've got really mixed feelings about the "shitty kitty." For example, on one hand, the dancers and bartenders have always been extremely kind. Charles is dope! I believe the other bartender I really like's name is Ralph! Both were so fun and in comparison to other bars Wildcats's drinks are very well priced. On the other hand, my friend was once hosting the Melanin Magic Drag show. In an effort to be supportive, a large number of my black and non black coworkers went to support. While there a security guard walked up to the group of us while we were hanging out by the pool table and yelled, " YOU CAN'T SMOKE IN HERE." Not only was there no actual smoking, smoking devices or discussion of smoking happening. We literally watched as he just walked back to his " station." The bar was packed that night, he said nothing about smoking to anyone else he walked by. While we joked about the irony of this happening to a group of black folks during the Melanin Magic show. It did leave a lot of room for us to question why that same energy wasn't kept towards other patrons. But again, mixed feelings. We had got there around 9:45pm and they must have had a Ja Rule pandora station on or something because all of his songs played until about 10:30. I came to the Wildcat for a wedding afterparty. We booked a large private outdoor space in the back. Loved the ambiance and every single staff person I interacted with was exceptionally friendly and professional. We had a blast, of course. Perhaps too much fun...next day I discovered my car key was missing! When I called the main phone number, I was easily able to get in touch with the owner, Bob, and he TOO was exceptionally kind, responsive, and helpful in the search for my key. None of the staff had found it, but when it turned up a few days later during a deep clean, he reached out and mailed the key back to me in LA!! Good people and fun spot! Worst experience of my entire life. I was assaulted by the security guards. They charged us $10 for the entrance so I went in to to the ATM and took out cash and paid the girl. She kept my ID I did not realize and after I bought about the second round I came to find out she had my ID. I walked back to the front to get it and the security would not give it back. And then they physically pushed me out of the bar. So rude. This establishment is a JOKE! This place claims to be gay friendly but I was harassed for no reason. Smoky, packed, loud-- and absolutely perfect. It was my first time clubbing and I frankly had no idea what was going to happen. Would I meet somebody when they locked eyes with me across the dance floor and we'd begin the meeting that would eventually end in marriage? I loved this place when I walked in. My experience got progressively more terrible as I dealt with staff members. The bouncers were jerks. I bought $45 worth of alcohol and the waitress was surlier than a ditch digger in an urban construction site. After drinking my overpriced Long Island Iced tea, which was pretty delicious, I ventured onto the awesome dance floor. I was enjoying myself very much at this point. I decided to take a break to visit the restroom. I have trouble relieving myself in front of dozens of people, so I put my head in the corner of the wall and covered my eyes with my elbow in an attempt to shield my eyes from the multitude of old men bumping into me as I attempted to use the facility. This is where things became unacceptably bad. The fact that I was shielding my face was apparently a socially unacceptable thing to do, and one of the creepy old men who had been staring at me while I tried to use the toilet called the bouncer, claiming I was passing out drunk and hogging the urinal. The bouncer then proceeded to grab me before I could even get my genitals back into my pants, rough me up and drag me out of the bar. I tried to calmly explain that I have a shy bladder and was not inebriated but just trying to shield my eyes due to my inability to go in public. They said "shut the f$$k up", dragged me to the curb, gave me a glass of water, and told me to sober up before coming back inside. I attempted to hand the water back to the bouncer because I didn't want it, which he perceived as a threat. This prompted him to push me away, causing me to fall into the street flat on my back. I'm lucky I wasn't run over and it was quite a painful spill. At this point I decided it was time to blow the scene so I ubered away. Later I learned the same bouncer booted out all of my other friends for taking too long in the bathroom. They accused them of having sexual intercourse in there, which they tried to explain was an insulting falsehood, but there was no talking to those bullheaded brutes. Would not recommend this bar to my worst enemy. It's actually a great venue, but the owner should literally fire and replace every single person who works there. The staff is not only incompetent and mean, they might have killed me by pushing me into the street had a car been coming. I am from LA and was visiting Santa Barbara for Thanksgiving. The Wildcat reinforced every irrational, negative stereotype I had in my mind about small towns. Will not be returning to this podunk crap bar. It has so much potential, I have no idea why the owner hires idiots to staff his or her business because it really could be an awesome club if it wasn't staffed by hardheaded jerks. Would give negative stars if I could. If you're not a small town jock, I'd recommend steering wide and clear of this dump. Note to owner--tell your staff to listen to customers when they talk, it would go a long way in making your bar seem less like Paddy's Pub. read more

Holy crap worst club in SB... I'd been here before but this was a different nightmare. When I was working bar security at an age much younger than 21 yet occasionally visiting here, it was a fun experience. I had only been around downtown about an hour and a half that night, yet when I asked for a drink the bartender told me she couldn't make an AMF because her 'shift wasn't over' yet James Joyce served me liquor cocktails just fine. I'd had gone to the bathroom and accidentally, slightly bumped into the walls in there and they suddenly refused to service me. Their reasoning was due (according to their words) was me being around down town all night. Like I mentioned, I was around the area for less than 2 hours and they immediately accused me of being too drunk to even order a single drink. The bar tender continued to gaslight me with more lies WHILE I WAS INTOXICATED and told me to leave. I didn't cause any patrons or staff a ruckus, nobody complained to me about any issues yet I was kicked out?! I've met some ratchet bar tenders before, not only were they unable to make an AMF but they gaslight customers to the point of feeling de-humanized and leaving?! In all my years of customer service and visiting such establishments I have never felt like a piece of shit. Is it because they see a man walk in with another man they want to lower their standards to get rid of gay customers as quickly as possible?! A different bar charged me near $40 for 2 drinks yet this was the worst experience of the night. I'm begging you, do not visit Wild Cats if they're the last bar on earth. If I wasn't on the brink of tears because of how they offended and abused me, I'd call their service laughable and embarrassing but now I'd rather call it harassing and near bullying. ROBERT MENDEZ is very unprofessional when he is in drinking mode. Tonight my husband went to KITTY to hang with our bestie at the door to keep her and security company and he was asked by security to watch the door for a second when ROBERT MENDEZ saw this he came and yelled at security and said LUIS should not be at the door. Security took him to the back and spoke with him. This is a problem anytime my husband and I have been at the door with our friends that work there. It's strange ROBERT only does this when he has been drinking, because he never would say anything to us or my husband when he is NOT drinking. We know he is NOT a manager on Friday nites. Then he told security i dont like Luis anyway. How unprofessional and childish is that. This very disrespectful and unprofessional of ROBERT. The owners may need to speak once again to their staff member ROBERT. If anyone is around him when he is drinking be careful he tries to become someone he is not.
