Okay, I'm literally at Baja Sharkeez right now and it's packed in here as we are watching a Final Four game. As Usual, I ordered the BEST Hot Wings in the city and a few couples were staring as I take a bite out of these amazing wings. They ordered some as well. I know you guys have read my previous reviews of this place and decided to come here and see for yourselves that what I was saying is true. I can tell. I'd like to believe it was me that made this place so crowded and not the Final Four game, so let me live, okay. Anyway, things have seriously gone well as far as the customer service here. The bartenders make contact with and will tell you that they will be with you in a second rather than just ignore you. The difference from a few months ago is considerably noticeable. If anyone from Baja Sharkeez ever decides to read this review, THANK YOU for stepping it up and being the fun, cool place you have the potential be. Keep getting better and I will continue to be a loyal customer (with many friends and family). Today was great. One piece of advice. Put a sign up to let people know they have to place their orders at the bar. People were sitting around waiting for a server to come by for a long time. read more

Baja Sharkeez was a fun, lively bar with TV screens, music, and both indoor and outdoor patio seating. It was very busy with college students celebrating St. Patrick's Day early along with a local pub crawl event, so the atmosphere was energetic and crowded. All orders were taken at the bar, which was a bit difficult given how busy it was. We ordered beers and a margarita with a Tajín rim for drinks. Since we just wanted a quick bite, we also ordered chips and guacamole and a beef taco. When the order arrived, the taco was actually chicken instead of beef, but I didn't complain or return it. The taco was still flavorful and what you'd expect from a bar-style taco. The chips were nicely salted, though the guacamole could have used a little more seasoning. Staff was very attentive as someone at a table nearby dropped a bottle and it shattered and staff was responsive and immediately came over and cleaned it up. Overall, it had a classic bar vibe with friendly staff and a fun atmosphere pretty much what you'd expect from a busy college bar. read more

I recently visited this location for the playoffs, and it was a good time, as are all the Baja Sharkeez locations I've visited. I ordered Shimp Taco Dorado but I got these shrimp tacos instead and when I told the guy that this was not "Taco dorado" he said yes it is. I ordered Taco Dorado because I knew I wanted a crispy hard shrimp taco. I then told the host about the issue and she acted like she was going to do something about but she just carried on like we didnt exist. Their entire ordering system is ordering at the with the bartenders who probably 1.) aren't so familiar with the menu, 2.) Cant hear what people are ordering and 3.) They are bartenders not waiters. Dont eat here just get drunk here and then maybe the service wont seem so $hitty. read more

In town for a wedding, looking for a post-ceremony late night spot to celebrate with the newlyweds. Loving vibrations and friendship are at all time highs but energy levels are starting to get dangerously low after 4 hours of non-stop dancing to the Cupid Shuffle in rented tuxedos. We had to find a spot and we had to find it FAST. Before we even turned the corner on State Street, we heard the rhythmic sounds of bass and juicy tunes you can dance all night to. Sharkeez emerged from the mist like a beacon of hope and it was rocking! Huge shoutout to Elliot at the front for being incredibly helpful with getting a table for our large group. Group ordered Green Tea shots, ice cold beers, and their signature special Shark Attack served in a giant fish bowl drink to get things started. Drinks were strong and service was fast even though it was packed. The DJ kept the bangers coming all night and 7 minutes in I had already blown-out the seam of my rental pants (poorly) attempting to do the splits. It didn't even matter though, the dance floor was a blast! Was only in town for 36 hours but would come back here in a heartbeat the next time I'm in town. It was an unfortunate start to our vacation. My friends and I decided to start off our vacation after a long trip through the coast at Baja sharkeez. Expecting the best with drinks, food, and great service. Turned into something that I hope wasn't what I and others thought. We arrived and waited for about 20 minutes until someone came by and asked if we were waiting for someone. We told her we were waiting to be seated. She then said to wait another 15minutes until we were seated. We looked around and saw many seats empty. After 35 minutes we were seated and waited another 8 minutes to get a menu. At this point we didn't even want to wait to even get our food or drinks. So as soon as we got the menus we ordered right away.Fortunately the food and drinks were served at a good time. What we noticed and didn't think about it until other customers told us at a different place and what we saw in the comments on yelp. Was that while we were eating. A lot of customers that came in were helped right away to get their seats. We're served right away and helped on even more than we were. They constantly came to their tables unlike us. This is where it gets unfortunately weird and I hope it wasn't the case. The times we are currently living in. There's so many people out there that are .... a "bit" ignorant aka racist. We didn't think of it much after the fact. We were the only Hispanic and black at the place. We felt like we were shunned because of it. Those who came in were Caucasian. And immediately helped by the servers. I keep on thinking that wasn't the case. But everything we went through. Makes it seem like we were shunned because of our skin color. It hurts me to think if so. Fortunately we had fun at another place and thank god we had a great time and this time we felt welcomed. Unfortunately because of the weird ambiance we aren't coming back that's for sure. And we hope that someone does something about this. And hope what we went through isn't because of our skin color. It had been a while since I'd made it up to Santa Barbara, and I was in the mood for a place with a good vibe and the Dodgers game on. The spot we ended up at was pretty packed--especially the patio, which is where we really wanted to sit. Since it was full, we grabbed a table inside and figured we'd just keep an ear out in case something opened up. Luckily, it did! A friendly staff member named Elliot let us know there was a spot outside and even helped us carry some of our food over, which was a nice touch. We stumbled across this bar on Fiesta Saturday! Seemed like they were barely opening when we arrived. We had a mango and peach frozen drink. the mango was a bit too sweet and the peach was just perfect. though a little lite on the alcohol but it was okay. the bar tender was cool and helpful. this place seems to be popular amongst the locals. We noticed they had a fishbowl called the donkey punch as part of their bar menu but we didn't get a opportunity to order it since we were pressed for time. they have a chip bar and a selection of salsas. perhaps when we are in town next time we get to try their food! read more

Just had dinner at Baja Sharkeez. We had the fajitas and the Birria Quesadilla. Both were delicious. We had a little incident with the food toward the end. Mind you, it wasn't anyone's fault. An honest accident that could have happened anywhere. We had already paid our bill and were boxing up the food when we noticed it. We brought it to the waitress's attention just so she was aware and could possibly look out for it in the future. Again, we had already paid, so they could have just said sorry about that and sent us on our way. But no! The waitress calls her manager Elliot over. He took the matter seriously and insisted to give us a full refund! I told him we otherwise loved the food and would be back again. On our way out, he stops us and hands us a gift card to come back. He said "since you said you liked the food and would be back, I wanted it to be on us". That is how's it's done, my friends. THAT is customer service! Huge miss for such an ideal spot on State street. I'm sure if you just stop for just drinks and to watch sports it's adequate. Food had some good staple items: Birria quesadilla, salads, Guac & chips all great. Drinks are average. Limited staff and you have to order at the bar which is very time consuming and then makes ordering drinks impossible. Food plates are obnoxious too large for all the tables. It's not ideal. Also, Santa Barbara water is nasty. Tastes horrible. Bring your own bottle water! read more
