My wife and I decided to give Wildfire another chance, so went this evening for our wedding anniversary. No issues with our food tonight, but the service was another story. We get seated in the middle of the dining room, and it seemed like we were forgotten about for 10-15 minutes. Once our waiter finally came over, he wasn't friendly, just wanted to take our order and move on. My glass of water had went empty and our waiter never came over and asked if I wanted a refill. Another waiter finally refilled my glass as he walked by and noticed that it was empty. The manager brought our entrees out to us but he never asked if we needed anything else either. He seemed like he was irritated and didn't really want to be at work. The only time our waiter was pleasant towards us was when it was time to pay the bill thinking he would get a nice tip since it's supposed to be a fine dining restaurant. Well, I guess he thought wrong because I don't believe in tipping if the service isn't up to par. If anyone from the restaurant sees this post, I recommend having a conversation with your staff about being more friendly and taking care of your customers more. This is the second time that we've been to your restaurant and not been happy walking away, so I don't think we will be back. read more

First time here for brunch on Sunday. The vibe is more of a fine dining and dinner kind of restaurant. The cool thing is they have separate the zone for the bar and dining room completely. The host is very attentive even though she was new. The service was great. We had burger which I forgot what it called bit its huge!!! I got myself Egg El Paso and it was good. This place is not very big so it's not suitable for large parties. I invited 10 and it ended up being 8 of us all together. Parking wasn't bad since it was a weekend and after hours. The menu is classy but still very modern and appealing. Everyone got something different so we could get a good idea of what this place had to offer. Hands down the apple bacon collard greens were my favorite! Even the salad was full of flavor. I did order off the menu when it came to cocktails but the bartender was up for the challenge. I had the pleasure of using Wildfire for my small, intimate wedding ceremony and reception. We booked the private room for 3 hours. The event coordinator, Jo, was organized, detailed and made the planning easy. All of the food served was incredibly delicious. Our party had the garden salad for the salad course. For the entree course, guests had the option of filet mignon or grilled salmon. Both received rave reviews in addition to the sides. Our server (Shannon I believe), was so sweet and incredibly attentive. She truly delivered the best service possible. She boxed up the leftover cake for us and even offered to help us with setup and cleanup. I would absolutely recommend using Wildfire for larger events! read more

Maybe Sunday brunch just isn't their forte and their "A team" wasn't playing. Atmosphere was nice and it's a lovely building. Brunch started off with overcooked scones with crunchy edges and tinge of that distinctive burned taste. Fruit...most of it was underripe enough to be unpleasant, though some of the strawberries were nice. Eggs Benedict was over cooked to the point that that the eggs were essentially hard boiled and a steak knife would have come in handy with the English muffin. Biscuit with another meal was crunchy and hard. Service... meh. Unfriendly and ungraceful with plates roughly placed and dirty dishes stacked right on the table. Have you been to a themed restaurant and food was, at best, so-so? Our experience here was similar. The "theme" of the restaurant is upscale, but the poor food and borderline rude staff don't deliver. Cuisine fresh and savory. Their chefs are limited to accommodate vegan dishes and lack diversity in creativity. Prices are reasonable but be aware if you share an order and would like separate plating there is a $2 up charge for the inconvenience to plate individually. We tried this place out for dinner with family tonight. It was pretty busy, we showed up after 6pm and the dining rooms were almost full and the noise level was a bit loud, but not to bad, you had to focus on the person you were talking to in order to hear them. Everyone liked the food, we had a mix of different plates, steaks, chicken, they ran out of some of the seafood, but over all everyone was pretty happy with the food and flavor. The steaks were a bit pricey, I thought, but they are open grill flamed with oak logs for flavor. The bread rolls were great, now this adds to my issue below, we ordered a starter and drinks and our dinners at the same time to get things rolling, it took awhile for the starter, Macadamia Encrusted Calamari, lightly breaded and cooked well, the issue was the flavor, we were all glad they had a dipping sauce otherwise these were pretty plain by themselves. The Steaks were cooked prefect, the Oak Fired Elk Tenderloin was also done nicely, but the meat was cooked uneven between the 5 or 6 pieces they had on the place and they were very light on the sauce. Everyone loved the sides greens and potatoes were great, perfect seasoning! and the deserts were a hit, we were pretty full but the 2 we shared between us were Yummy ! That all said by only issue was service, well our server was very nice and new the menu, even recommendations, I think they had her on to many tables, so the time between getting our food took forever, that could have been the kitchen, people had already finished up and were leaving so it was slowing down, but it was taking longer and longer for anything, drink refills, FOOD !! and after we finished we sat with our playtes in front of us for a good 20 to 30 mins before they were picked up and we were offered desert, which at this point we were very mixed about ordering. I also notice the other waiters would tell tables about the days special, we missed that one at our table, after ordering desert it was about 15 mins before it showed up and since it was 2 different sliced of cake we wondered why so long ? The steaks were cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. My husband ordered the Pork Tenderloin and said it was cooked to perfection and the best he's ever had. I called Friday morning to see if I could get a reservation for my 15 year anniversary and to my surprise they had two spots available. The gentlemen helping me on the phone was so kind and considerate to my needs. Once we arrived, we were seated immediately and to our surprise they put us in a cozy booth. The hostess welcomed us so attentively and as we sat down, the said hostess said Happy Anniversary, that was so sweet that it was noted it was our anniversary. Our waiter (Jason) which is the absolute best, came over, introduced himself and started with some fantastic recommendation's. His personality was setting the mood for a fantastic experience. We ended up with cocktails from their amazing bar and for our anniversary dinner we decided on The Cowboy Ribeyes. The cut, the way it was prepared (perfect medium) and the presentation was 5 stars!!. At the end of our meal we were prepared to order dessert and as we requested a dessert menu, our waiter brought us a complimentary slice of the most decedent, beautiful cheesecake on a platter that decorated with strawberries and the words Happy Anniversary. Really nice dinner last night! I had a 10 oz rib eye, baked potato, and we shared the tequila vegetables. My friend said she always has the elk and loves it. Everything was delicious. I hope to go back next time I'm visiting. We both took home leftovers. Lived here for six months and just now found this hidden spot. Had reservations for 5:45 so seated right away. Loved the old town feel as the chandeliers almost made it seem as if time was turned back. The old building was charming as the brick walls added so much character. The table setting alone was so very classy and welcoming. Now to the food. The drink list alone is overwhelming but I don't drink so. We shared herb crusted polenta which was great. Wife ordered rack of lamb with mashed potatoes and spinach. Excellent. I had my mouth set on the catfish and the two huge filets did not disappoint. I wasn't impressed with the coleslaw but I'm also not a fan but the fish omg. As I drank water and coffee while waiting on my food I had no room for dessert but guess what? This is our second time here. The food is delicious but a bit pricey. I had the pot roast last time. Today, I'm having the pastrami Reuben. It was delicious. My only complaint is that the sandwich comes with fries, but I opted for the onion rings. Since it's an up charge of $2.99, I thought I would get a separate plate with a 1/2 order. I got 4 piled on top of my sandwich and they were cold. I'll order the Reuben again, but will not pay extra for onion rings. Save your money and stick with the fries. read more

Went to Wildfire tonight! It was absolutely awesome! I'm so sorry we didn't get our servers name but he was amazing and very attentive and we never wanted for anything. We went early at 4:00 to avoid the crowd, which was perfect for us. For an appetizer we got the calamari which was good. Loved the sauces that came with it. I got the macadamia jumbo shrimp with rice, snow peas And it was the best!!! Hubby got the New York strip that was cooked perfect. It had the best taste. I really wanted to give this place another chance, especially post-covid. Made reservations for two for a Tuesday night for a special occasion where we wanted upscale but still casual. Reservations were easy over the phone. When I showed up they had the wrong name and the phone number was off by a digit, but hey, they found us. Not like it would have mattered, but reservations help make sure some random crowd or event doesn't screw up plans and it's polite, right? They have a huge menu and great wine list - a good mix of Texas wines included, which is nice to see. That said, our server had an attitude and approach that seemed rushed and didn't get any of the hints when we said we were going to find an appetizer and wine to start with, then figure out dinner. Not 10 minutes after ordering that to start he was back asking for a dinner order. We told him we were still working our way through the menu, again hoping he'd get the hint. When the appetizer came out, he delivered it and the drinks and at the same time asked again for our dinner order. We hadn't even had time to start, taste or talk... and there were still open tables. We ordered and added wine to match. Dinner came and it was okay. Some parts were great (strangely, the smallest sides on the plate had the best flavor) and some were just okay. Nothing was wrong but nothing jumped out as spectacular. We finished dinner and decided to do dessert elsewhere. It wouldn't have mattered though - instead of asking or offering about dessert he just asked "anything else?" Uh, no. Is this place bad? No. Is it upscale? Sure. Is it decent food? Better than a chain restaurant? Yes. Extensive menu with unique choices? Yes. Someplace we'll come back to? Probably not. Too many other places are putting out better food and providing service to match. This really is "just average" for its target demographic and price point. read more

My family and I really enjoyed our late lunch at Wildfire! We got the Oak Roasted Salsa and Queso as an appetizer, both of which were delicious! The salsa had a nice heat to it and the chips were okay. I got a 10oz Ribeye and it was delicious! The waiter looked offended when my mom asked for steak sauce, but I thought it was a perfect medium steak that didn't require additional sauce. I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes it came with. I recently went to a "fancy" restaurant with horrible mashed potatoes and these were so satisfying. The pecan green beans were also very good! I've never had pecans in my green beans, but I'm now a fan. My dad and husband both got the chicken fried steak, which they had no trouble finishing since it was so good. We finished with a birthday dessert for my dad, a cheesecake, and ordered the Mascarpone White Chocolate Carrot Cake to try. Both were delicious, but we especially loved the carrot cake! read more

I canceled a reservation I previously had in Georgetown just to come here based off the reviews from others.... I was highly disappointed. I am actually mad that I wasted money, time and calories on the food here. The best thing that the kitchen produced was an artichoke appetizer. My boyfriend and I had gotten the rack of lamb - 45$ and the elk tenderloin - 35$. The elk meat was tender, but completely lacked of flavor. I had to put the butter from the bread on the potatoes to even get any flavor out of those too, and the asparagus tasted terrible. I got no blackberry reduction, and the chutney was a tsp worth of cold crap on a plate. My boyfriend's rack of lamb tasted extremely burnt. We were in shock how bad it was. The same thing with the mashed potatos. No flavor and the garlic spinach tasted like nothing!!!!!!! Overall NO FLAVOR! NO SEASONING!!!!! and then they put some plain tortilla crusted onion rings on his plate that made absolutely no sense. It was disgusting. Our waiter was nice, and we had no issues with the hostess or servers. The ambiance was warming. Over 100$ for flavorless food, I could've gone to Texas Roadhouse and ordered something with more flavor and been more satisfied. Just a huge disappointment. read more
