If you want something really healthy for breakfast go here! If you're not don't.. I love the welcomeness and cozy vibes of this cafe but that's it. The food was not my cup of tea. I got a cinnamon muffin and it wasn't that good. It was missing flavor but I'm guessing that's because their was no sugar?? Don't get me wrong my friends love this place because they are vegan. Whether you care that Wildflower is a vegan restaurant or not, you'll have a delicious dining experience with kind staff. If you appreciate vegan food, this is a must, and even if you're not (I don't care much for vegan food), Wildflower will take you by surprise with its fresh, unique flavors. This place is 4-stars for me due to delicious food but at a slight premium for being vegan (I imagine). Food (5/5) - You wouldn't guess the dishes here are vegan based on how they taste. My Banh Mi Bowl was a delicious concoction of vastly different ingredients, and the Mac & Cheese I tried from my friend was delightfully light and somehow still tasted cheesy. Our group split 1 liter of Tedede Mimosa, which tastes 95% like a normal mimosa but has the most subtle flavor of mate de cacao. Service (5/5) - The restaurant staff checked on us frequently and were very understanding when we waited a few minutes for our last friend to arrive at the table. They filled our drink regularly and had our food out in a quick turnaround. Ambiance (4/5) - The physical restaurant is nothing to write home about, but the owners did a reasonable job with the building they had. Lighting was pretty good due to large windows in the front of the building. You have to walk through part of the kitchen to get to the restroom, which took me aback initially, but I was fascinated to see what went on in the kitchen as I walked through. Value (3/5) - Given that this is a vegan restaurant, I'm not surprised at the prices. However, I can't, in good faith, rate this category any higher given that my $13 entree left me hungry for something else of similar or greater size. VEGAN review: Open during COVID. We tried the WILDFLOWER POTATOES, COCONUT FRENCH TOAST & TOFU SCRAMBLE. The hash has perfectly steamed vegetables over very savory roasted potatoes, smothered in tasty nut gravy, and topped with fresh tomatoes. The hash tasted like local vegetables, you know... the kind you get at farmer' s markets-yea, they were good. The French toast tastes classic with rich breaded toast and warm syrup over almonds and powdered sugar. The tofu scramble is heavy protein business and they offer junky cheese/"meat" alternatives. The scramble was so good, I just had a bite but it's a very good option for someone who wants a loaded vegan dish. The service is organized, clean and sweet. We were reminded and asked, multiple times, if we had questions or needed extra info to just let them know. We are not from Humbolt, so we definitely had to buy some of their, highlighted, local wine to get our day started off on a Bay note. Vacation vibes for sure. read more

Best vegetarian/vegan spot in Humboldt! I love how there is a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options available. I ordered the T.L.T sandwich- a vegan take on the classic BLT. It was very flavorful and came with a choice of side. I can't wait to try the other menu items; looks delicious! I also appreciate how they are taking COVID precautions: takeout only and contactless payment. It was a nice walk from the apartment and near central Arcata. I will be back! read more

This is the place for vegan or vegetarian food in Arcata. They will make most of the vegetarian dishes vegan, if it's possible. My mom (omni) tried the blueberry/brie pancakes and said they were the best pancakes she's eaten in her life. She's 80! She's had a LOT of pancakes, so take this tip seriously! My son and I each ordered a breakfast entre and then shared, so we would get to try multiple items - it was a good decision. He had pancakes, vegan style, with banana's added. These were good. They're huge, by the way - the size of your head! I selected the biscuits and gravy and had vegan sausage added...so savory and flavorful. This did not disappoint. The two halved biscuits and gravy took up an entire plate. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Sadly, Wildflower was not open for dinner on the nights we were there (I believe it may be open only Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights) because I've had dinner there before and it was awesome. I love this place. We visit Arcata many times a year from la. We were just up over the weekend of 11/5-11/8/2021. We eat here as many times as we can when we are there. Not once have we been disappointed in anything we've eaten. This last time we tried the vegan french toast. AMAZING. The only thing I would've preferred with it is for the syrup not to be so cold. Ukiah 1000% needs a breakfast joint like this! Just WOW! Hubby and I stopped here twice over the span of 2 days: once for a late lunch and then again for breakfast + take out! Day one (Lunch) I got the Vegan Nachos + Jack fruit and Mike got the 'Tuna' Wrap. In addition I also got the vegan Carrot cupcake, berry scone and PB Cookie. Everythinh was super good and made me excited for breakfast! The place was packed so call ahead or order take out if you are in a rush! Day two (Bfast) we had 2 more in our party - Total of 4, we all spilt a pitcher of mimosa which were lovely. My friends both got the granola/yogurt, Mike got vegan biscuits & gravy + 'bacon' while I got a side of potatos, tofu scramble and avocado. We picked up food for my birthday and it did not disappoint! I had the Thai salad and the dressing was AMAZING. Huge portion too. The Nachos were so good and could easily be split between 2 people. I am a dedicated carnivore. Given the choice, I will go for a steak or a hamburger over anything with chlorophyll 9 times out of 10. I used to frequently tease (hopefully in a good-natured way) my vegetarian friends for eating here, though I never had myself. Well, consider this me eating vegetarian crow. This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Arcata. The food is legitimately "how-did-they-do-that?" good, from their vegan cheese sauce to the Chai milkshakes. I've slowly been eating my way through their menu, and across perhaps 15 visits, the food has never once been bland, uninspired, or forgettable, with the sandwiches on their homemade rolls being particular highlights. The prices are exceedingly fair, given the quality and frequently locally-sourced ingredients. A very, very solid spot to eat in Northtown. Give it a chance if you haven't already. read more

One of my all time favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh and well prepared. I normally get tempeh tacos, the "tuna" wrap, and vegan French toast. Amazing every time. I went there today and the food was lovely. I also love the soy lattes and kombucha on tap. I would recommend Wildflower to anyone. There's something on the menu to satisfy everyone's appetites.
