After a busy day, I decided to try Wildflower restaurant for the first time. It was a beautiful afternoon, so I requested an outdoor table on their covered patio. The Spinach Salad was served first. Fresh and tasty, with a perfectly balanced blend of ingredients. Next up was the Pan Roasted Chicken with Green Beans and "Smashed" Potatoes. Excellent. Dessert was a special treat. The aptly named, "Bars of Sin" was a decadent pleasure. I loved the Vanilla Ice Cream (or was it gelato?) and the fabulous Chocolate Mousse Cookies. Excellent meal. Wonderful service. Came for restaurant week while visiting Tucson and think we made the right choice. My favorite was the cauliflower cheddar soup, it was so delicious I scraped the bottom of the bowl with my bread. Braised beef dish was my main. Very nicely prepared though a little under-seasoned. Mom had beautiful salad for first course and the ravioli for second, also very tasty. Normally, Where I live most restaurants I go to are located in a small downtown as I try to support the small downtown business, as we don't have many restaurants in my area that are located in a strip mall. But as it turns out in Tucson, Arizona that most restaurants located in these areas are in a strip mall or a single standing building. We happen to be driving by looking for a place to eat. Using Yelp, we located this restaurant. To be clear the atmosphere of this restaurant was simply amazing. Even in a strip mall the improvements that were done in here were simply stunning. Now for the food etc.: It starts from the top.... great receptionist, great waiters and waitresses, and the energy that surrounds this place is simply amazing. I love coming here for special occasions or on the weekend night. As a vegetarian, I order their Lebanese hummus. I really like their butternut squash salad with shaved brussels sprouts, roasted beets. Because I don't eat goat cheese, I do ask them to keep that off. their Mediterranean cauliflower is really delicious as an entrée. It comes with sweet, potato, tahini, marinated, chickpeas, and roasted mushrooms. I love sitting inside or outside. Both are wonderful. read more

We went there for the first time tonight and it was great! We started with the brussel sprouts which my husband and I loved!! They were sweet and the bacon added a nice saltiness. My husband ordered the NY steak and I ordered the braised beef short rib. Both were excellent and very filling. The short rib was so tender I didn't even need to use a knife and I loved how the risotto caught the flavorful juice from the meat. The NY was cooked medium rare as requested and the red wine sauce was very yummy. It's my birthday so we got the bars of sin to go. OH MY GOODNESS. Let me tell you, the mousse with the crispy cookie had me drooling and the vanilla gelato on the side was perfect with the rich dessert. Wildflower is the standout restaurant in Casas Adobes on the north end of town. Opened in 1998 by James Beard nominated restauranteur Sam Fox, CEO of Fox Restaurant Concepts, Wildflower exists within a corporate portfolio of some of the Southwest's most successful restaurants, like Blanco, Culinary Dropout, Olive and Ivy, the Arrogant Butcher, etc. in 2019, FRC was acquired by The Cheesecake Factory for $300m. But, there is nothing corporate or "chain" about Wildflower itself. As the atmosphere remains unique, classy, comfortable and stylish. And Sam Fox is still the leader of his portfolio of over 45 restaurants nationwide. And it's also clear that some of the the benefits of big corporate oversight, like operational efficiency, service training, supply chain quality, standards management etc, are all very present at Wildflower as well. In particular, the service team at Wildflower is probably the best in town. Anyway, the modern American menu at Wildflower includes both signature dishes and seasonal rotations. With a full bar, classy house cocktails, a wonderful wine list, and a good selection of local beers. Happy hour is lively from 3-6 everyday. This time around, I ordered the Hamachi Crudo with Cider Ponzu ($18). It won't fill you up. But the fish is light and fresh. And the cider ponzu is absolutely delicious. If they sold it by the bottle I would buy a case. I actually asked for a spoon so that I could finish what was left at the bottom of the dish. The Spinach Salad ($10) with Grilled Steelhead Salmon (+$9). The salad itself is not particularly memorable, as it's basically a big pile of fresh spinach leaves with a few bits of bacon and blue cheese. BUT, the grilled salmon was absolutely perfect. High-heat crispy sear, wonderfully seasoned, moist and tender in the middle. In the future I would just order the Salmon as a meal. Yummm. The Short-rib Ravioli with Truffle Cream ($19) is also worth the trip if you like creamy, beefy pasta dishes. It's phenomenal. So, if you are ever on the North side of town, check out Wildflower. It's pricey, but the prices reflect the quality of the the food, service and atmosphere. read more

We (5 of us) came here on the recommendation of a friend and we all had a wonderful dinner. We started things off with smoked salmon. Wonderfully delicious salmon on a bed of potato galette or something like a 'bird nest of hash browns.' It was great! I ordered mussels and also jumbo lump crab & avocado toast. The mussels were fresh and perfectly cooked in a slightly spicy sauce that was wonderful. The crab came on toast and all I can say is that it's a must try! So very very good! Food was very good, the shortrib ravioli with truffle cream sauce, swiss chard and mushrooms was delicious with the right ratio of tender beef to the ravioli wrapper. It was the perfect lunch portion for me. It was savory and not too heavy considering it was beef and cream. My mom had the butternut squash salad with salmon and really enjoyed it, the piece of salmon was generous and perfectly cooked. She loved the toasted mulberries - only issue is they forgot the butternut squash but they brought over a side to add quickly. We both scarfed down the soft bread with the seasoned dipping oil that came with the meal. For dessert we had the bars of sin which was really great to split since there were two bars. The mousse and wafer like base cookie coated in a chocolate shell with vanilla gelato was a great way to end the meal. Service was good, the only downside was that it was really noisy inside. I have written a review of this place before and gave it 5 stars then and 5 stars now. We went there for my sister's 70th birthday and we were treated royally! Service was impeccable and the food was great. Both my sister and I have food issues (I need to avoid garlic and onion, she is gluten and lactose intolerant) and we were not disappointed by our food. That's right, "all out" lunches include cocktails, apps, main and wine. Wine is both to wash down main and dessert Chose the blooming Daisy and signature old fashioned for cocktails, Israeli Hummus and grilled artichoke for apps and short rib and smoked mozzarella raviolis for mains TO DIE for! Host Assist Manager took it upon herself to confront my wife about an issue she had with me pointing out that she lied. She argued with me on the phone and was unprofessional. Apparently was still upset and 3 weeks later we came to the restaurant. She walked up to my wife and stated, "your husband was rude to my hosts". We had just arrived with family due to my wife's father just being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Thanks lady, you've shown you're not fit to be an assistant or a manager! Brought a group of 11 people to Wildflower for lunch this afternoon at 1:00pm with about a 1-hour advance reservation. They were crowded, but were able to seat us on their patio which was pleasant and comfortable, even though approaching the mid-90's outside. The misters did their job. So did the wait staff and chefs. Blake, our only server, was excellent. He was pleasant, friendly, and attentive. It was amazing how he took care of our rather large group. The food was fantastic. Everything was on point. We had a myriad of dishes ordered, and everything came out at just about the same time, nice and hot and delicious. My first time at this place was a pretty enjoyable experience! Beautiful venue and friendly staff! I am vegan and unfortunately there were no 100% vegan items on the menu to choose from (unless you want a simple salad) but our waitress was very accommodating and reassured me I could pick anything from the menu and they could modify it for me. I am very thankful for her help and acceptance. It's hard to be vegan amongst your other family members that are not. Going out to dinner should be easy and enjoyable. Having options that are vegan friendly make it so much easier! This place was very aesthetically pleasing and the environment was great! If it weren't for my waitress and her willingness to accommodate me it would have been much harder. I would love to come back and hopefully see more vegan options on the menu! read more

Wife and I were visiting the area and we wanted to get together with friends for lunch. Found this place, and thought it would be a good fit for the group of 5 people. Made reservation the old fashioned way...by phone, and that was smooth. The restaurant has an outdoor seating area w/ roof and nice misting fans, but one of the group wanted indoor seating so we opted for that. Very spacious indoor area, w/ pleasant decor, and comfortable seating. The only issue inside was that the noise level was quite a bit higher than pleasant, especially for such a spacious place and at the lunch hour. Will try sitting outside if we return to area and try this place again. The maitre was very helpful in getting us a great table which helped a lot with one of the group who has mobility issues. Wait staff were prompt and amiable, and service was great. Two of the group ordered the Fish & Chips, and both really enjoyed. Exceptionally light batter that did not detract from the flavor of the flaky white fish, presumably cod, though it was not mentioned in the Menu. One opted for the pan roasted chicken and smashed potatoes, and really enjoyed that as well. Wonderfully herb seasoned, and flavorful. Another in the group tried the Spinach salad w/ the added grilled Salmon. The spinach leaves were rather huge overall (not baby), and made for some awkwardness requiring knife to sort out. It would have been a nicer presentation and easier for the diner to handle if the spinach had been cut in a medium chiffonade. The salmon prep, however, was spot-on. Moist and not over-cooked. The oddball entree was what was listed as "Greek Caesar" salad. The description "Caesar" conjures up at least hearts of Romaine, garlic croutons and a Parmesan-y dressing and umami of anchovy. The term "Greek" makes one think of cucumbers, tomatoes, Greek oregano, Greek mint, and Feta cheese. The menu description was: "heirloom tomato, avocado, cucumber, castelvetrano olives, red onion, crispy chickpea, olive parmesan dressing" Well, it turned out to be a large mound of uncut, tangled Arugula, way over-dressed with a "sort-of" Caesar-y dressing, and containing small pieces of ordinary cherry tomatoes, one piece of cucumber and a few pieces of avocado and couple of slivers of the olives . The diner ordered the grilled chicken add-on. That was nicely seasoned and grilled to doneness but not dry. So, overall, the non-salad entrees rose to the top. The salad entrees really need to be improved and presented in a manner that's up to the level of the other offerings. The Greek Caesar salad also needs to be at least renamed to reflect the actual ingredients, with Arugula as the main player. It's neither Caesar nor Greek. I would prefer if that salad were reimagined to be true to the Caesar and Greek nod. Ditch the pile of arugula and incorporate only the classic components of both salad styles. It could be a winner. In a post-COVID world I would also note an issue with the bread service. The server brought a large half-loaf of the Euro style bread on a plate. The loaf had been partially cut into slices. In order for a diner to enjoy a piece of bread they had to handle the entire piece and tear off the slice they wanted. That may be ok for a family gathering, but not really suitable for a meal with casual acquaintances. It would be preferable for staff to cut the slices entirely and present, napkin enrobed, in a basket, so that a diner only needs to touch a single piece of bread, and maybe the napkin. Also, the dipping sauce was in 2 phases, oil on top and a creamy piquant lower layer. Despite mixing w/ spoon they would not emulsify. The 2 phases made it impossible for a diner to serve themself a portion of the sauce, and some resorted to using the sauce bowl as a communal dip....Not good. A few drops of liquid lecithin and a few seconds of a stick blender would have generated a wonderful emulsified creamy dip that could have been portioned individually. I would grade as 3.5-stars, but Yelp has no accommodation for half stars. read more

I love wildflower. I come back here over and over again. The service is excellent, without being overly attentive. The food is just right. Very good quality without being too precious. There is fabulous variety for anything you are in the mood for. And the ambience is absolutely wonderful. There hasn't been a single dish I've tried that I didn't love. Celebrated a birthday and an anniversary here because it's so great! Those bars of sin are LITERALLY everything. But they should be called bars of eternal happiness and satisfaction - sure, it doesn't roll of the tongue, but it's what they are. And don't skip on that grilled artichoke...mmm. From my experience, Wildflower's service is well above the standard of any luxury restaurant, with a much more down to earth setting. Definitely recommend a visit. Very disappointing birthday celebration at Wildflower. My parents come here often and have celebrated several anniversaries here. They thought it would be the perfect place to go for a birthday. We had a cocktail at the bar - the signature old fashioned was delicious. When we got to the table our waiter didn't introduce himself or tell us the specials of the day (we were curious about the fish). Meanwhile he brought us the two Malbec wines so we could decide between the two. Very nice and we got a bottle. We asked his name- Craig. We had the grilled artichokes which were delicious. Two main dishes arrived but we had no forks. No one was around. The third dish finally arrived but we still didn't have forks. Thus a lot of waiting and no attention to detail. No one was super impressed with their meals- Braised short rib was fine but lacked sauce so almost seemed dry. (Requested additional sauce and was given some, which helped) The pasta was fine but lacked flavor and spice. The chipioni had very few pieces of seafood in it and two huge pieces of bread. There was a large piece of fish on it though. My parents love the paella so in hindsight we should have gotten that. Craig was hardly around for the second half of our meal and we needed him on several occasions. I had to flag him down. The restaurant had been packed when we arrived but it had cleared out by the time we were done with our appetizer. Huge mixup with the dessert but we ended up with the Bars of Sin- which had 'Happy Birthday' written. It was festive and fun and delicious. Even sinful! When we got the bill we see they had charged us for the birthday dessert. When we questioned it he said we had to sign up for their club. Why did the hostess ask us if we were celebrating anything when we made the reservation and why has there been a dessert included in the past for celebrations? Mixed messages but we filled out the card. He took forever to process things. I actually left and took a walk outside, came back and they were still dealing with the bill. In an empty restaurant. This was my parents' go to place for guests from out of town and their anniversary. Sadly we're not sure it will be in the future. read more
