I went here for my birthday with my parents and in-laws! It was a great local spot with fresh, delicious dinner meals and a wide-array of drinks. I think for Richardson it's a great spot for date night and celebrations. Our server Blake was effusive, kind, and one of the most personable waiters we have ever had. He really made us all feel special.

It was a rainy evening, and my husband and I were driving in an area we don't normally go to for dinner. And that's when we saw Wildwood Smoke and Craft Whiskey. We walked in with no expectation... we didn't even check reviews before opening the door. To our surprise, it was a charming place. A little rustic meets class for the interior. I love finding places like that. A comfortable environment, a waiter that was kind and cared about our experience. It was just a great experience. I ordered the smoked salmon - a delicious! It had a great lemon sauce in it. The mashed potatoes were very good. It just paired so well together. I snuck a few fries from my husband's plate and wow! Who knew fries could taste this good! We are already talking about coming back for dinner soon. It was that good.

Great business lunch today. Jerry Trevino and his team are a symphony in action. Atmosphere and ambience contributed to a dining experience that facilitated our conversations. So critical to business and personal enjoyment. Appetizer menu has tasty choices. We had the chicken fried chicken and hanger steak dishes Dessert was bread pudding and crème brûlée Server and wait staff were super attentive I recommend this restaurant! See you there

Wildwood has been on our radar for a while, but with mixed reviews, we weren't sure if we wanted to go. But the fact that they are family-owned, and they take reservations, encouraged us to try them. Five of us went, each ordering completely different things to test the menu. We had a good experience depending on what you order. Stick to the grill. The burgers, steaks, and anything fire-touched were flavorful, juicy, and clearly made fresh. Tread lightly with other dishes. Some non-grilled items seemed reheated. Not terrible, but definitely not the star of the show. Service for us was fantastic! From the hostess to the server to the manager, everyone was friendly and genuinely seemed to care that we liked our food and was having a good time. If you enjoy a small bar for cocktails ... they offer a generous Happy Hour (ask about their tasting events). If you're looking for delicious desserts to enjoy in a cozy ambiance, definitely consider this location. They serve up huge slices of yummy desserts!! We LOVED the chocolate cake -- even our pickiest dessert expert was quiet because she couldn't quit eating on it lol. Casual meets classy is the vibe, but the dress code is very casual. Its worth mentioning that the outdoor patio is full-service, and beautfully decorated with string lights and a small inviiting modern fireplace. Nice! Bonus: Doggos are welcome on the patio (Yes, I confirmed that with the manager.) Overall.. Wildwood is a laid-back, local gem, that hits just right if you know what to order. We'll definitely be back--with appetites and a dog in tow.

I didn't even know this location existed until stumbling upon it for a spontaneous lunch. We happened to visit during their Tuesday entree special. I can't remember the exact discount but I think we were able to order the pecan crusted chicken for around $10 if I'm not mistaken. Great portion size too! We ordered the spinach dip and I wasn't too impressed, especially the kind of chips offered. I appreciated my chicken and green beans with mashed potatoes! Heats up well for leftovers.

    Overpriced Meal. IMHO.

My wife and I visited Wildwood Smoke Craft Whiskey (aka: Wildwood Grill) a couple of weeks back. We were on our way back from visiting the Titanic Exhibition and decided we would try someplace we had not eaten at before. After a fairly quick Look at Yelp*, in hopes of finding something on our way home, we decided on the Wildwood Grill. It was after the lunch rush, and well before the dinner rush, so the place was quiet, with only a couple of tables occupied when we entered. Another couple entered right after we did. So, the place was pretty much empty. Our Server greeted us and seated us promptly, and took our drink order. Again, since this was our first time dining at Wildwood Grill, I expressed I was interested in possibly trying a Flight of Whiskey. Without hesitation, our Server brought the Spirits menu. Over the next few minutes, our server made a couple of attempts at asking if I was ready to order Spirits. I wasn't. In fact, after seeing the prices for a Flight (three x 1oz shots) of Whiskies, the least expensive being $28, I was almost decidedly content on not ordering any at all! I, instead, just expressed that I was not ready to place a Spirits order and returned to the food menu. Since we had not eaten at Wildwood Grill, we opted for a couple of Starters (Pretzel Bread with "Dragon Dip" and the Asadero Fried Cheese Blocks), and I opted for a Wedge Salad and the Hickory Smoked Wings Starter as my meal. My wife ordered the Grilled Center-Cut Filet, which came with Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus. We decided that anything we did not eat at our sitting, we would take as leftovers for our hungry son, at home. We both enjoyed the Asadero Fried Cheese Blocks (Who doesn't love Fried Cheese??!!??), and the Pretzel Bread loaves were hot and delicious! My wife did not care much for the Dragon Dip, but I loved it as well! I also thoroughly enjoyed my Wedge Salad and found the portion size ample. My wife's meal was not promoted with a salad and neither was she offered one, as an additional Side or otherwise. I found that a little odd! When asked what flavor of Wings I would like, from the available options, I expressed that I preferred whichever were considered to be the spiciest/hottest. I was served the Pineapple something or another-sauced Wings, which our Server indicated that "according to the chef" were the hottest. Well, plainly stated: the wings had absolutely ZERO heat on the chili scale! And, while they were okay - taste wise, they were not something I would order again. I did not mind the sweetness of the pineapple so much, but the lack of heat was seriously disappointing! As for my wife's meal, her steak was correctly cooked to Medium, but the somewhat sweet Cabernet Reduction completely clashed with the more savory Herbed Butter topping the steak. And the steak, being advertised as a "Center Cut Filet," neither chewed, nor tasted like such. Which, at a $38 price point was also, VERY disappointing. I normally would finish whatever portion of a steak my wife could not eat, but after a couple of bites of Wildwood Grill's Filet, I had my "fill, ehh?!" and left the remaining portion on the plate! My wife's Mashed Potatoes were on point and were very tasty. Her Grilled Asparagus, on the other hand, were few and had burned tips. Needless to say, my wife's meal was the low point of our dining experience! I very much wanted to like Wildwood Grill, because of its somewhat uniqueness, but all things considered, I just could not! The highlight of our meal was the attentiveness of our Server... and the Fried Cheese. If you decide to give Wildwood Grill a chance, I hope your dining experience is better than ours was overall! And, get the Fried Cheese, it just may save the day!! Eat well. Be well. Cheers!

I AM a fan of breakfast at Wildwood. I finally tried lunch and it was a miss for me. Breakfast definitely is a HIT! Drinks were really good! 4 STARS! Food was ok 2.5 STARS Ribs were blah seemed a bit fatty and the sauce was boring. Asparagus I thought was tasty and cooked well. Mashed potatoes were pretty good. Presentation was nice. Mozzarella squares a spin on mozzarella sticks were interesting. Caesar salad was ok and the dressing was delicious. Service was the saving grace. Our waiter was nice and pleasant. Ambiance always a good vibe. It's a cozy spot to eat and drink at. So I think I will stick with breakfast. The overall experience was decent.

I picked this restaurant for dinner based off of Yelp reviews, and you all were not kidding. This was some of the best food I've ever had. Went for dinner after traveling all day and was starving. It was a Tuesday where they have a deal for two entrees for the price of one, and I was hungry enough to go for it. I got the salmon and the steak, and ate everything brought out to me. Topped it off with an Old Fashioned that was very well made (and I am picky about my Old Fashioned). The coworkers I was with also got some bread pudding and chocolate cake for dessert, but by that point I could only manage a bite of each because I was so full. I'd try the bread pudding if I went again. That one bite was really good.

We were driving around in the rain looking for a new place to try when we happened upon Wildwood. Coming in from the rain, we received a warm welcome from Jeffery, who greeted us, seated us, and then who we would find out would be our server. He was fantastic. Genuine and helpful with a fantastic attitude. The ambiance was nice. It was earthy with woods and leathers. It had a bit of vintage flair, with modern class. The music was great too, like The Cure, Bob Dylan, Talking Heads kind of great! I ordered the Grouper Sandwich. My wife ordered the grilled Salmon. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious! The fries that my sandwich came with were really good too. This place is so much a repeater that I can't wait to come back! Review #2101

    Meatballs

The meatballs were good and flavorful. I recommend that appetizer. For entree, I ordered chicken fried steak and it was tough. Green beans and chicken fried steak were way too salty and the steak was chewy and overcooked. The mashed potato didn't have enough seasoning. It was so imbalanced. We had team lunch here and if we come back, I might try the pecan chicken next time. Services was great!

The food and service are amazing! We stopped by again for the 2 for Tuesday special, where we were able to enjoy two of the entree meals listed on the 2 for Tuesday menu for only $29! What a deal! Additionally we had the Dragon Dip, which was ahhh-mazing! John was very attentive and knowledgeable. Definitely will be returning again soon.

Not impressed. I've always heard mixed reviews when it comes to this place. My team from work went here for lunch and majority of the group didn't like their food. No lunch menu and the food is expensive. Ordered Pecan Smoked Salmon and the salmon was overcooked, dry and tasteless. The Asparagus weren't any better. The mashed potatoes were average. The waiter was ok. I wouldn't recommend this place.

First up, the pirogies--holy moly, these little pockets of joy were just unreal. Perfectly soft, stuffed to the brim, and fried up just right. I'm pretty sure if my tasted these, she'd give a polite nod and say, "Not bad, eh?" Then came the pot roast poutine, and let me tell ya--this isn't just food, it's a life experience. You've got those crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds (as they should be, eh!), and gravy so rich it could probably pay rent in Toronto. And then--BAM--tender pot roast on top. I nearly stood up and sang "O Canada," no joke. Now the Canadian Eggs Benedict? Ohhh, beauty. The peameal bacon was thick, juicy, and cooked just right, sittin' pretty under those poached eggs with hollandaise sauce that was smoother than a fresh sheet of ice. Absolute perfection, eh. And don't even get me started on the everyday breakfast. Classic, hearty, and no funny business--just how we like it. Eggs done right, toast that actually tastes like toast (imagine that!), and portions big enough to fuel ya through a full day of shovelin' snow... or, you know, strolling around Dallas. All in all, Maple Leaf Diner absolutely crushed it. Let me tell ya, the service was so fast and smooth, I thought I was dreaming eh. Great food, friendly vibes, and enough Canadian charm to make ya wanna say "sorry" when someone else bumps into you. 10/10, would recommend--now pass the syrup, eh?

I am not a big fish person and hubby loves something fried so a healthy fishy meal isn't our first go to, but we went outside our normal tonight. And we left so satisfied. For apps, the mac and cheese bites with crab. This should feel heavy but it doesn't. Moist and full of flavor. We did the crab fingers (special on the black board... pay attention to the specials they are fire). Tons of crab for the price and the chowder type sauce was so good. I just wish I had more bread to soak it up. Dinner was the tuna with mango sauce. I got mine rare and it was perfectly cooked. The filet was well seasoned and the sauce complimented it well. Large portion of tuna. He got the special (do not sleep on the black board) flounder stuffed with crab and shrimp. Absolutely amazing. I have never ever ordered flounder before but I guarantee ill order it if we return and its a special. Service was fast snd everyone was attentive. Cant wait until we go back.

The menu pricing is fair given its seafood but not super affordable either. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were massive! However, I wasn't really a fan of the sauce, and especially not the lettuce. Because the dish was served hot, the lettuce was soggy and impacted both the texture and taste of the overall dish. The best thing, in my opinion, were the Mac and cheese crab cakes. A truly genius combination. Lastly, the fried catfish was just okay. It was kind of bland but not super crispy either. The portion is really big though. The fries on the side were soggy too and could have spent a couple more minutes in the frier.
