Avoid this shop. I came here to see why my AC was blowing weak lukewarm air and why my steering was stiff when reversing. I was quoted a new AC compressor and power steering pump for $1700 on a 26 year old car. I also had to pay a $150 diagnostic fee. Knowing something was fishy I went somewhere else where an honest and proper diagnosis was done. I only needed a few new valves and a Freon recharge for the AC for a little over $200. My stiff steering was caused by a loose belt which was tightened at no additional charge. They'll bamboozle you here. read more

About a year or two ago I took in my mustang for new spark plugs and my car was worse than how it was prior to taking it in, it was jittering after. I took it to a different place and they told me that the spark plugs were placed correctly but that one of the wires was not attached which was making the car jittery. A few days ago I took in my Honda for an oil change. Since it was something simple I gave the place another chance. Well when I was on the freeway my car kept scraping really bad and theres not much I can do if I pulled over so I drove slowly back home it was about a 13 mile distance and my car kept scraping bad with every bump. Our car battery died a couple of weeks ago and when we changed it the interior lights, door locks, radio, and charging plugs stopped working. We took the car to a local mechanic that looked at the car for an entire day and told us they couldn't figure it out and might need to keep the car for over a week. Next we took it to the dealership and the same thing happened. Both places tried replacing fuses, but they kept "blowing up". One of the dealership employees pulled us aside and told us to take the car to an electrician and that the dealership would fleece us if we had it repaired there. My wife found this place on Yelp and chose it because of it's reputation and because Chris, the woman she spoke to, told us they could fix the issue. We took the car in Monday morning and the car was fixed and ready in 24 hours! No B.S., no tearing the car apart, every problem the car had is gone, and they charged a fair price. What it lacks in outward appearnaces though, it makes up for in a knowledgable staff and quality work they stand behind. I've been going to William Auto for years and the one things that always impresses me is their honesty. The auto repair industry can be unscrupulous and shady, but never once have I had a bad experience here. I've never left feeling like I've been taken advantage of and that's why I continue to go back. I value their honesty and they stand behind their work 100%. I live in Culver City and am happy to drive the 25 minutes in takes to get there because I know they'll do it right and at an affordable price. F.O.S. They're full of (aw, you fill in the blanks). I came here because my BCM was going out, I left my car with them and they informed me it would take about two days. Two days passed and then it became your car will be ready tomorrow, tomorrow came...car wasn't ready. To make a long story short, they kept extending the days until I suspected the obvious...they never started working on it. I've been coming to this place for years and have always been satisfied with their work. I first came here when another shop tried charging me 500 dollars for some work. I came here to get a second opinion and they gave me a full rundown of what needed to be done and it turned out the other guys were trying to rip me off. After that, I kept coming back for brake work and oil changes among other things. It's hard to find good mechanics sometimes so this was a gold mine for me. I really dig the staff and they're just mad humble and helpful every time. The pricing is fair and they're very open with everything they do. Great family business! I started taking my car here a couple of years ago and have been very happy so I even started bringing my the rest of my family here. They are very honest and humble people. Not Happy with my Service at all charged me to look at my car and didn't advise me on all the things that needed to be fixed. I had to pay another Mechanic to look at my car. They said my Brake sensors and coils were still good come to find out they need to be replaced. Kept telling to drive car for awhile then bring back, but I think they just didnt know what to say. Nice people, really bad results. Went in with my car making noises from the Axle. They diagnosed the front axles need to be replaced. After replacing them for $280 I was told it was actually the transmission that was bad and the Axles weren't the problem. Great! That being said I gave them two stars because they are nice people and even gave me a ride when I needed it the same day I dropped off the car. At the same time I was out $280 without getting anywhere in fixing my car. I basically had to pay $280 to find out they were wrong instead of them looking into the situation deeper only to realize they were wrong and save me that money for the Transmission rebuild to come. I may or may not give this shop another chance depending on my circumstances. I do however wish them the best. read more

I've brought my cars here before and they have always been great but today, they went above and beyond. I drove in this morning to ask about replacing my Starter on my Tahoe, they were great and gave me a great deal. My intent was to come back the next day and have the work done but my truck had other plans. I called them from a gas station that I stopped at for gas and they sent a tow truck right away. Long story short, One of the nice young lady's took me home and then picked me up when my truck was ready, she was great. I would recommend William's Auto to any and everybody. read more

Wish I could write a good review for this place. I found them while having my motorcycle serviced at Richard's Motorcycle in the same complex. I needed front brake pads installed and thought I'd give these guys a chance. They are friendly, but I don't think I got proper service. They replaced the front and back pads and resurfaced the rotors. The brakes seemed fine, but about 6 months later I started getting an unbelievable squeak from the front pads when in reverse. I took it to them and they again resurfaced the front rotors. The squeak went away, but returned 2 weeks later. When I had them "fix" the squeak the second time, the receptionist (owner?) said if the squeaking returned they would have to replace the calipers (???). The calipers don't have anything to do with the squeak. No thanks... I'm living with the squeak. When I took my car to the dealership for an oil change/tire rotation they informed me that both the front and rear discs were ground down below spec by a fair amount. I told them my experience and told them I'd just replace everything once the pads wore down to the rotors. So, the car still squeaks like mad in reverse and I'll have to get new rotors and pads in the near future. Too bad, the people are nice there, I just question their methods. read more
