This place is a shack, just like the name says. The people who work here are pretty nice. I had to use the bathroom and they let me in the shack to use it. He said we're all family. I had their cuban sandwich. They have two sizes, regular and large. Do not get the large size unless you have 3 or more people with you. These sandwiches are big. I could not finish a regular one myself. And if you get fries with this, you'll have enough food for days. Even their drinks come in "Big Gulp" sizes. I guess everything is bigger in Dalton. BBQ will blow you away. This main little shack has been a standard for quality. Although the menu items will change, they give you more for your money. The BBQ is the best in town with two sizes, regular and jumbo. I dare you to eat a jumbo BBQ, Fries and a 20 oz sweet tea and still breath. They are HUGE. We were passing through Dalton on the way to Florida and googled the restaurants we had to check out in town. Willies kept popping up and I'm so glad we went! It's a tiny little place with 3 or 4 tables total (all outside) but the food was amazing! My husband got an Elvis burger which was peanut butter, jelly, and bacon, I got the shrimp po boy and we split some fries and a gigantic sweet tea. The burger was delicious and gooey, the fries were seasoned well and crispy and my shrimp po boy was the best one I've ever had with GIGANTIC shrimp and was well worth the 12 bucks it cost. Wow! All I can say is wow! You have to experience Willie's for yourself, you just do. It's an unassuming little shack. They have lots of stuff going on in the menu. Lots of burgers, fish, shrimp, sandwiches, Po' Boys. I ordered the 6 piece friend shrimp basket. BF ordered the catfish basket. Order came out pretty fast. They work in a tiny space, I mean tiny. I asked if they had a restroom and they directed me to the back of the kitchen. Seriously? Everyone had to move around to accommodate me going through there. The door was so narrow I was afraid I wouldn't get in. LOL. Trust me, the space is tiny and I counted by just a glance, at least 6-7 people in there cranking out the food. The shrimp basket came with 6 big pieces of plump and butterflied shrimp, a ton of really nicely seasoned fries and 2 pieces of Texas Toast. Wow. Carb fest it was. The shrimp was good. I would have like a little more seasoning to the batter, tasted a little bland, but they were still good. The fries were nice crinkle cut fries. I'm sure they don't make them in-house, but like I said, they had a great seasoning on them. An almost spicy seasoned salt taste. Only a few places to sit outside to eat. They do have a drive thru too and seemed to be doing plenty of business. The prices are pretty steep but when you see how much food you get, you understand the prices. Now the burger.... I got the Black Widow Burger- mushrooms, provolone, thousand island. It was huge and look great! But the taste... The burger had been precooked, then kept in a weird tasting broth or something and reheated on the grill. It tasted weird. I had the chef cut it in half for me ( because they have no plastic knives) and the burger patty had a weird, unappetizing texture where it was cut. Again, over all, it was weird! WORTH THE DETOUR from 75! Biggest downside I noticed is outside only seating = so many flies in the summer. Good, "stick to your ribs" food that you would get in your own backyard BBQ/Fish Fry. The portions are HUGE. One order of fries with your combo can feed 3 people. The table got a grilled cheese, corn dog, shrimp po boy and a fish plate. Everything was as good as you can hope for. Corn dog was light on the batter to hot dog ratio which was fine for me but another said they would have liked more batter, the po boy had good flavor with a half size being what I though the full size would be and the fish had a tasty batter. I wasn't a fan of the lemonade because of a strange aftertaste. I'm generally a fan of fresh squeezed lemonade but not this one. read more

In my hometown (Columbus OH) this would be some hipstery, trying too hard, unauthentic letdown. Luckily here in Georgia this place is LEGIT. The burgers are the size of frisbees before they cook them. The chicken po' boy that I got was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. It was 2 huge fried chicken patty's, covered in some secret sauce, hot sauce, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce and it came with a giant bag of fries and huge drink. My friend got a double chili bacon cheeseburger that looked like one big chunk of juicy, cheesy delicious meat and a macaroni salad that was made with a spicy as hell mustard. Very glad we stopped here. Back a year later. They got rid of the incredible chicken po boy, and anything chicken but I got the catfish sandwich Cajun style and it was every bit of amazing. If you want a fish dinner or a fried bologna sandwich, this is the place to go! My bologna sandwiche was a half inch thick and I just got the regular one. The jumbo is even bigger. Special sauce, pickles, and slaw. Oh so good, and free fries with every sandwich. Hubby got a fish plate.
