My husband and I were moving locally from Pflugerville to Round Rock, so we really only needed movers for larger items like furniture, etc. Bo, Richard and Dean were polite, very hard working and accommodating. We helped where we could, and five hours later, we were done! We paid hourly since it was a small job, and my biggest concern was our family piano. It has been in the family for four generations. They moved it without a single complication. Only one bed had problems being put back together, but it was Ikea, so I think it was more about the product than the movers. Move Date: April 29th, 2021 (PLEASE READ!) I've always dreaded moving, as I feel most people do because of the packing and moving of belongings entirely from one place to another. We moved from our apartment at Panther Hollow Apartments in Marble Falls today. Moving has become almost a habit the past few years, moving from one city to another, from house to house. We have been happy and satisfied with the service we would get from Einstein Moving Company being that they serve the city of Austin. But this move was going to be a little different being that we were going to be in the hill country moving towards Dripping Springs. We were in the midst of hiring Einstein Moving Company once again until we came across Willis Permian, who received great reviews on Google. So I decided to give them a try. Fast forward to today, Thursday, April 29th, 2021, we made the move and have instructed the team to please stop at a storage in Buchanan Dam to pick up our appliances, thinking this was the most logical move as they would have to stop by Marble Falls to pick up our items and then to Dripping Springs. When it was confirmed a day before, the clerk did not know that the first stop would be the storage, so I had to reiterate the purpose of that first pick up. The movers called like they said they would to inform that they were headed to the first location around 11:20 am according to my phone. They called again at about 12:40 pm asking where my husband was, as they were suppose to meet at the storage location, only to find out they went to the wrong place even after giving them the correct address. (Strike one) When the movers met my husband at the storage locale where the appliances sat, about 10-15 minutes in of their arrival, one of the movers asked if we knew anything about tipping movers. (TIPPING-- BEFORE WE COULD EVEN ASSESS THEIR SERVICE!!!) That was strike two. Fast forward to meet them at the apartment, I checked on my husband as I have had a bad feeling since the move began, as they have started on the wrong foot. He called me on their way out of the apartment letting me know some things that happened with the movers. He informed me that the movers were very ill prepared. Culturally, we spend days inside our home with not having our shoes on that goes outdoors. When asked if they can wear booties to cover their shoes, the movers suggested that had to be requested beforehand. Unlike, Einstein Moving Company, they were always prepared for any situations because it is also a liability issue on our end to have stained or damaged carpets in the apartment. They also suggested that our TVs could not be brought over to the new location because they, too, were not requested. I was not asked about this nor was I asked to take a video or picture of our place upon setting the move with Willis Permian. I had called the manager, Tucker, to explain to him the poor quality of service we have been experiencing and he suggested that this does not happen on a typical day. With all of these issues it is hard to believe this statement, knowing that they go through weekly training to provide quality customer service. He suggested he would call Sam and the other movers to let them know they can take the TVs and they would be careful with them. Sam then goes to my husband and tell him that I had informed Tucker, manager of Willis Permian, that the TVs were 36" when I clearly did not mention size with Tucker and that they were misinformed. (Strike 3-4) One of the movers during the time he was asked if he could please take his shoes off or replace them with booties, said "I can't take this," and walks out of the apartment. (Unprofessional- Strike 5) They get to the final destination in Dripping Springs and I catch Sam telling my husband that I had apparently informed one of the clerks, Natalie or Shannon, that I had suggested that the appliances were not in boxes when I sure we'll know that they are because they were purchases brand new and delivered to the storage a year ago. I used Willis on two previous moves and they did a very good job. This time I put my household items in storage for about a year at a cost of $498 month. In September of 2019 they moved me into my new house. A few days before the move I called and asked that they send two extra people to help me unpack as I recently became disabled. On the day of the move I was very sick. The two unpackers turned out to be day laborers that looked dirty and hungover. I directed traffic as best I could. They did not do a very good job. The trash compactor was taken upstairs. An office cabinet was upside down. Boxes were taken to the wrong rooms. They lost the hardware to my dresser. To my horror numerous pieces of china and glassware were broken. The top to an antique crock was missing and numerous items were missing. It took me months to unpack. Finally I sent a letter to Mr. Willis. He called and left a message saying he was sorry for the damage and not to bother calling him back as he was leaving on a trip. I expected my goods would be safe in storage and that things would be delivered and set up. I expected a good experience as I had had in the past and instead I got poor quality and numerous missing and damaged items. My suggestion Is skip Willis Permian in Round Rock all together. read more

Be careful with these movers. They have no control over the storage area. I have packed my collection of watches in the dresser and they sealed the dresser including the padding right in front of me. But I don't whether someone had access to these drawers in the storage area , but all of the watches are gone. When asked, they said that anything that listed as an item in the inventory list, they don't care. So be careful to list all the items even if they are somewhere deep inside. Not only that, they have lost the important wires and that made some of stuff inoperable. They do half job, lose all the bolts and nuts and they leave your furniture disassembled. I have proof for everything I wrote and even the claim which they rejected pointing me to some fine print . read more

We used WPM to move from central Texas to South Florida this past winter. This is a very well established company, family-owned and operated, that do what they say. Tucker Briscoe, VP of Operations, came personally to our property to do the survey and quote. Tucker was very pleasant to work with, and wonderfully knowledgeable and professional. Quote and process reasonable and well explained. Jim Hobson, driver and crew leader, was wonderful! A very hard worker with years of experience, Packing/loading crew in Texas were good workers. Unloading crew in South Florida were top notch, a harder working crew we haven't seen. This crew was a little older, in general, and more mature in their work attitude. Yes, we had some damage, but Tucker has been excellent to deal with. We would definitely use Tucker, Jim, and Willis Permian Movers again! read more

Please, pay attention to this review. I will save you a lot of heartache, and disappointment. Do NOT use Willis Permian Movers for your household move!!! I have moved numerous times for military service, and advancement in my career. This was absolutely the WORST moving experience I've ever encountered. This was my first time using Bekins/Willis Permian as movers as I wanted to give them a chance. I had never used them for a move. I never will again. This company destroyed, damaged, or lost numerous items during my move, and then Bekins refused to pay for any of it because the goods went into a storage unit. They'll tell you that you've got a certain amount of time to file a claim (I believe it is nine months). This is true unless your goods are moved into a storage unit. If you do not identify the damage while in the presence of the driver at the time of delivery then Bekins will not honor their claims process. I was never told this until after delivery when Bekins denied my claim. Even my estimator, Tucker, always told me I had time to file a claim. Not so! I had three high value items I specified they pay extra care in moving. One being a forty year old grandfather clock, and another being my bedroom set. They damaged BOTH of these items. My bedroom set has so much damage they may as well have thrown it from the truck while going down the highway. Gouges, scratches, dings, bent handles, and wiring completely destroyed. As I said, I also had items lost. No idea where they went. Pay close attention to your inventory sheets. They'll note conditions of the items they are moving. They will mark items as scratched, scuffed, etc., even if the items are brand new. They did this to many items I had just purchased before I moved that were in perfect condition. I was told that members of the move team were fired based upon the terrible service they provided. That doesn't replace my damaged, or lost goods. I haven't received a single cent to cover the damages they caused. Pay the extra money to use a different company. You will be better off in the long-run. read more

Do not under any circumstances use Willis Permian as PACKERS for your move. They packed us and put our boxes into a Pod Container. I am an artist and had a number of delicate pieces being moved. Two of the pieces were pack on the top of two boxes but without any packing to protect them from jostling and the crush of boxes placed above them. Another delicate piece was packed in the bottom of a box fill with lightweight tools and containers. It was completely crushed. ALL TOGETHER $5,000 IN ARTWORK WAS LOST. They chose to take no responsibility for their shoddy packing because 'they did not move and store our items.' The loss had nothing to do with the move or the storage, it was strictly due to the substandard nature of the packing. read more

**** DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!!!!! **** I overlooked the negative reviews on Yelp, and it burned me terribly. If I could give negative stars for this review, I would do so. Please, trust in what you read below..... I have moved multiple times both while in the military, and after my service. I chose Willis Permian/Bekins as I had never used them before. Tucker came to my residence to perform my estimate to move from Texas to Florida. He was kind, gained my trust, and their rate was very competitive. I wish I would have spent double on my move as this was the WORST move I have ever experienced. First, I should have canceled the move when three young guys showed up to pack, and move me in the same day. Against my better judgement I didn't. They did a TERRIBLE job of packing my goods. I have found items from multiple rooms in a single box. In addition, the poor packing job they did resulted in multiple broken items. While not expensive items, and replaceable, I've never had so many items damaged that were packed in boxes. The packing crew also showed without a 'high value' form. When I reached out to Tucker about this miss his response was, "Well, what do you have as high value?". Wow! I had multiple high value items of artwork, and a grandfathers clock, that were easily noticed during my estimate. This was NOT the response I was expecting from him. They were going to prep the grandfathers clock, and I am soooo glad I didn't allow them to do it. An additional note of the packing crew, is that they noted almost every item with some kind of scratch, scuff, or ding. Some of these items were BRAND NEW. Upon receiving my goods in my storage unit in Florida they were delivered by a Wheaton (they are the same company, apparently) moving van. As the driver, and his assistant delivered my goods we began to notice multiple items damaged, boxes crushed, and totes crushed. The driver felt so bad about his delivery that he left the clock packed in all of its pads. My $6,000 bedroom set was practically destroyed. Handles bent, scratches, dings, wiring completely torn away from the lighting, and a nightstand with the bottom completely busted off the bottom. I had moved that bed twice before without single incident. Nope. Not Bekins......may as well have dropped it from a plane without a chute. This set is discontinued, and cannot be replaced. My grandfather's clock was also damaged because they put the weights in the bottom of the clock before they wrapped it in pads. This busted out the bottom of the clock. There were missing boxes, and I still have missing items. Why? Because some of my items were left "loose" outside of a box, and just thrown on the truck? Why do I know this? Because I saw the guys do it when loading the truck at my residence in Texas. Full disclosure: Some of the damage we found was during a walk I did with an estimator for moving my goods OUT of the storage unit they were inside. There was was no way I could take pictures, and allow time for Willis Permian to send out different professionals to look at the items before I moved them. I had to get out of the storage unit. With that, Willis Permian wipes their hands of any liability. I have contacted Tucker numerous times about this shipment, and how my experience was so terrible. He will agree with me that I focused on three things when we met, and wanted to make sure they were given special care: Bedroom set, Grandfather's Clock, and brand new couch. They damaged, and destroyed two of the three. While he is apologetic, and explains that a member of this crew is no longer with the company, this does nothing to replace my belongings. Even financial recourse does NOTHING for me. I cannot replace my bedroom set. I have had a two furniture repairmen look at it, and agree that the lights, and wiring, to my headboard are trashed. The handles on my dresser will never be the same unless we can order them. (I was able to get one, but there are two bent handles.) I've also had numerous other items broken, or damaged. The clock was fixed, thankfully. Tucker may very well be a nice man. I have no reason to feel differently, but I believe his company Willis Permian FAILED miserably. All moves have their challenges. I've moved enough to know, but this company absolutely does NOT have best practices in place, nor crews that work for them that care for customer's belongings. Please, save yourself angst, and frustration. No matter what response may be given to this review, use a different moving company other than Willis Permian. read more

They took excellent care of our property while in their possession and when delivered the team was extremely curtious, careful and helpful in placing furniture and boxes. They have basically done nothing to locate and return the items, even though there is only a small number of places they could be (e.g. at the houses of the other people who had items on the same truck), because they don't want to inconvenience their other customers. I have since called Tucker to do another move for me and he bent over backwards to accommodate my schedule. I did a review of ABC Movers here on Yelp where I gave them a one because there wasn't a way to leave a lower rating. If ABC deserves a one then Willis Permian deserves an eleven. This is absolutely the WORST moving experience of our lives. I would strongly suggest to never ever use this company. The loading crew was unprofessional and incompetent. We have to file a claim for SO much damage to our items. Simple things like wrapping tables in furniture pads to prevent damage they failed to do. They failed to box our mattress, secure the drum to our washing machine, properly pack a stained glass lampshade that ended up shattering. I could go on and on. We used Willis Permian/Bekins for a move to New York at the beginning of the year after receiving much higher estimates for the same services from the other major national moving companies. I was impressed with the level of customer service I received from Willis Permian, beginning with the in-home estimate and through the delivery of our shipment. Other companies were having difficulty accommodating our intended move dates around the holidays, but Willis Permian didn't once suggest there would be any difficulty in meeting our needs. When a winter storm hit New York State around the first day of our delivery window, the driver began making regular contact to let us know when to expect him. The weight estimate they provided for our shipment was lighter than the estimates provided by other companies, but ended up almost exactly matching the real weight. Everything arrived in great shape and all of our furniture was put back together expertly. read more

These guys are fantastic! They came recommended from a Bekins moving agent that my family used. Matt Stricklen was the agent that came out and gave us a quote (half of what the "other guys" quoted us) and was there the day of moving. There were three guys to help us move from our apartment to our new home. Matt was great about working out the schedule for the day with us. We had to go to our closing at 11 am, they were at our apartment, on time, at 8 am. We were able to close, meet some family for lunch, and head to our new home, and the movers were there within 15 minutes. Talk about timing! All of our things were treated with care, wrapped properly, and unloaded with the same respect - completely professional. I was a bit skeptical at first to try Willis Permian Movers out since I hadn't heard of them before (I am not originally from Texas), but they came recommended by a friend, so I thought I would give them a shot. These guys were awesome. It started by getting a good deal on boxes. On the day of the move, they showed up on time (which is becoming a rare thing these days) and completed the job in record time. I was impressed by their overall professionalism. They took great care in making sure nothing was broken or ruined, put down mats to protect the floors, and overall made me feel comfortable with the whole process. This year has been crazy for us. Where do I begin? I used Willis Permian located in Round Rock Texas. My move was complex, moving from Horseshoe Bay to Houston. My furniture was extremely heavy and most of the items were fragile ! I too was a bit skeptical but being affiliated with Bekins I made an appointment with Michael. It only took that appointment to satisfy any concerns about making my move to Houston with Willis Permain. I had two other quotes but Willis Permian was the lowest and could store my furniture until we could find a home. The men arrived on time and took great care individually wrapping the items too large to pack. While my furniture was being stored for a month, Michael and his team stayed in touch regarding my future plans. I was a little nervous having a new team making the delivery to Houston because I was completely satisfied with the men who initiated the move but the second team was equally professional and worked tirelessly until the move was complete!
