Love this place , the guys that work there are awesome.. I was pleased surprised when I visited Willow Creek. It's a smaller shop but they still have a decent inventory of bows and related equipment. You can tell the owners are very passionate about archery. The time they spend with customers really shows they care about customer needs. I really enjoy going into this shop and the people that shoot here. Bret has always given me top notch service and really takes a more customer centric approach than a product one. The shop has really up'd there service game with the new bow press, draw board, 3rd axis sight leveling block, and "Bret's Bow Balancing Machine". I never realized how improperly I set up my stabilizer weight and side bars. After putting the bow on this machine, I found out I was fighting gravity......and losing badly. I am now able to hold on target a lot easier and don't get as fatigued when shooting. The Thursday night league is always a good time for testing your archery skills and if you have little one's the JOAD program is really good too. If you need an archery lesson, for a minimal price you can take one from a former Olympian! Alana is great as well as Tina. Watching them work with the kids you can tell they really care about the sport and what they do. I cannot believe those other good reviews. I will let you know exactly what to expect- AWFUL SERVICE and RUDE PEOPLE, If that's what you want, then that is what you will get. We stopped in to purchase bows, arrows, EVERYTHING we needed to get started...maybe discuss lessons, really the first place we came to get started on Archery and we were told quite rudely that they just finished a tournament and that they were closed and to come back on Tuesday... Funny?! The sign said OPEN usually OPEN means come on in and spend your money...not at Willow Creek Archery it means get the heck out we don't want you here. AWFUL service, no courtesy or respect, I cannot believe they actually have customers. We will drive somewhere else even if it takes us an hour or more to avoid going to this local place. TERRIBLE!!! GO ELSEWHERE unless you like to be treated like garbage then this is the place for you. read more

The entire team working here (along with the other archers on the range) are absolutely amazing. They helped get my new bow set up perfectly and answered every single question I had. The price for my Bear Archery Cruzer G2 was the exact same price as I could find on Amazon. Difference is I would not have had my questions answered, bow set up, or the range time. This review is meant to be more of a WARNING than a review. The staff member that was assisting me either did not know or lied to me about which product he was trying to sell me. I took my little guy to Willow Creek on his birthday for a bow fitting and to purchase a bow for him. I asked the staff member for a PSE razorback Jr. He pulls a bow off the wall that looked like a PSE but was some other company with very poor ratings. He handed it to my boy and told us that is was the PSE. After I questioned him about it he said it was just like the PSE and that PSEs where backorder. I then said that I would just get the bow somewhere else. The staff member then said he would "check in the back" to see if they had any. You guessed it, he found one. He then rushed the set up, cut the arrows incorrectly, and rushed me and my boy through the process as fast as he could. This archery shop did not have the best interest of the customer in mind. They where pushing the product they wanted to sale instead of what I wanted and asked for. NOT A GOOD ARCHERY SHOP. read more

My son received a bow for christmas from a relative so we decided to give it a try. We found out from another archery place that his bow was a "cheap toy" but when I took him to Willow Creek they understood that I wanted him to try it out before I invested in a new bow with nice arrows. I really appreciate the special attention they give my son and I when we go in to purchase equipment because I don't know anything about archery yet. read more

After taking my draw measurements when I was demoing bows, we found that I was between a 28.5 and a 29 inch draw. I bought a bow from Willow Creek and Jim suggested I shoot the bow for a while at 29" and if I don't love it he would set up the bow for 28.5". This close of a measurement is really a feel thing. I took him at his word and tried the 29" draw length. After shooting about 500 arrows at 29" and grouping very well, I brought the bow in to the shop and asked if the shop could change it to 28.5. Sam took me out to the range and had me shoot a couple of arrows. He agreed I was in the middle and said I should try both. He took the bow and put the mods on it to make the draw 28.5 while I watched. He then asked me to shoot it again while he watched. I love the 28.5 length. This shop does what they say they will do. That made me a very happy customer. My groups are much better and the feel is so much better. No issues. read more

After reading The Hunger Games, I became fascinated with archery. I found Willow Creek online, emailed Allana and explained I had a group of beginners that wanted to try a lesson. There were four of us women that tried it and Allana was so informative, patient, encouraging, and really knew her stuff. Once we learned the ground rules (stand on the line, wait for the all clear before getting your arrows, etc.), we were ready to shoot. As we progressed and became a little more confident, Allana changed our targets and had us rotate positions. She was really an excellent instructor. The hour lesson flew right by. We are already planning our next lesson with her! It was affordable, fun, and the facility was nice. Be sure to look for me in the Olympics... read more

You get what you pay for. At first I thought this place was overpriced but after talking to the young man and reading information online, I can see that we got a good deal! My husband wanted a good quality and high performing bow. Sam is very knowledgeable and took the time to set him up with the best fit (Bowtech Carbonite with the octane package). He even called the owner to see if we could get a better deal...and we did! We did a quick search online for the bow and we did see it for $50 less on line but I would highly recommend buying your bow in the store because they customize your sights and tune the bow for you right than and there. Sam even took about 20-30 minutes with my husband and showed him a how to use it and gave him helpful tips. By the time we finished with my husband, he we shooting 2 inch groups on the bulls eye. Additionally, when you buy the bow in the store you get 5 hours of archery lane practice time to use at your discretion. My birthday is this weekend and I attend on going back this week and buying the purple and black bow I saw when we were there a few weeks ago! read more

I had the opportunity to get down to Willow Creek for the first time yesterday. I needed to have a bow checked out, and fitted a little better. There were a number of tweaks I wanted to have done. I met Jay who help me, and he took the time to check out everything, and fix a number of issues with my bow. I have not been shooting for many years, and he took a lot of time to walk through questions, test me out on the range for fitting, fitted arrows specifically to my bow, etc. The service could not possibly have been better. Everyone i met there was amazing, and Jay was not only really nice, he was incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share what he knows. I have rarely seen service this good at any business. Next weekend, I plan on bringing my son back to get a bow that is sized right for him, and after my experience, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I will be a client for a long time to come! Awesome place, as soon as i went in they asked me what i was looking for and i told them. The worker took me right to the recomand bows and choose a bow that was right for me, told me all the things i need to know as a beginner. They weren't pushy about me buying this item they were very patient and respectful towards there costumers. There is a indoor shooting range, and its quiet. it can get pricey, but of course its a bow shop that has good bows and not those cheap ones. i would defiantly recommend this place and i am looking forward to another vist! ps:They have both compound and revcurve from expert to beginner. read more

AWESOME PLACE... This is what an archery shop should be like. WIthin a couple minutes of being in the place you can quickly feel like being a part of the family. It is like going into a Barber shop. There are always interesting conversations going on amongst the staff and customers. There is a no pressure attitude within the shop. They are always willing to answer questions, and Jim (the owner) will always tell you like it is. He would rather make a potential customer happy, then sell you something and have you unhappy. They don't sell all the hunting show bows. The only bows they sell are the ones you won't find at the big box stores. I have bought 3 bows from them over the last couple years. Setup, pointers, repairs and questions are all included with the purchase of a bow and time on the shooting lanes. The owner down to staff members are all avid hunters with years of archery hunting experience. You won't find a better shop in SoCal to do business with. read more

This is the second time I have visited Willow creek both times I found the Staff to be very helpful. This time I had a new TurboHawk I had been given James and Travis help me get it set up and ready to shoot. I have been shoot a recurve for years and am completely new to compounds. This place is awesome ! It is owned by a very helpful guy who has owned the place for roughly twenty years. I usually go to an archery place much closer to me, but they continue to rip me off (they wanted over $100 to adjust my bow's weight and they are always screwing something up!) Anywho, I used to live near Escondido so decided to take a trip down memory lane and go to this archery store since I needed arrows and help adjusting my new compound bow. Let me tell you, this place may LOOK small but it is packed full of merchandise and really cool archery regalia. The owner was really great with me (I have never shot a compound bow before) and gave me shooting advice while he was adjusting my new bow for me. The first thing he did was ask me my name, which I appreciated. I felt like a valued customer. He didn't try to upsell me and was just really honest and cool- MUCH different from other archery places I have been to. I highly suggest going here if you want to purchase any archery equip. I can't comment on the range they have since I did not shoot while I was there, however it looked like there were four lanes and the targets were at a pretty substantial distance. The people shooting at the range looked like they were having a blast (this establishment offers lessons, FYI.) This store/range seems like a family-oriented place... that's what I like to see. Also, just a random tidbit... while I was there a family walked in and the owner knew them all by name. Pretty sweet, if you ask me. People just aren't that way anymore, unfortunately. Damn corporate America haha ! I seriously would make that one-hour drive down to Willow Creek Archery rather than drive 15 minutes to my former range. I went into Willow Creek today to learn more about modern compound bows as I haven't owned a bow in over 20 years. The knowledge and passion of the staff was incredible. Casey and Conner did a great job of walking me through the options available and helped me get set up with a great new bow. They did so well in fact, that my wife, who's never shot a bow in her life, decided to get one for herself. I've never had a bad experience at Willow Creek! My husband and I are fairly new to archery, and the owner and staff have all been super helpful! They're great at recommending products and giving useful shooting tips .They have a good amount of product, and also a 5-lane target range in the back. It's great to have a place like this in Escondido, since most other archery stores and ranges are further south in San Diego. The prices are very reasonable, and there's usually always room to practice in the back. It's $5 for 30 minutes or $10 for an hour. It's a little more pricey than going to Balboa Park, but it's air-conditioned and there's always parking :) Give them a shot and you won't be disappointed! read more

I'm new to archery and was badly in need of a hobby to break from work. A friend took me to willow creek archery in escondido. Suffice it to say, I had a blast - and I've had trouble committing to anything aside from work for several years but this experience has been positive on so many levels for me. Not only is the staff amazing (Wednesday nights With Marc or Saturdays with the owner Bret) but it's fun and affordable. When I drove home the first night after my session, it hit me how relaxed I was.... I was quickly addicted. About two months in, and I'm setting up to put an order in for my first bow. Their staff are always relaxed and friendly - never pushy, and always helpful. Bret set me up and took his time to explain everything. I like the group here. They are nice people and incredibly knowledgeable. I have taken multiple people in to get bows, and they walk them through everything, and make sure the bow they are getting is fitted perfectly to the shooter - which is crucial. Bows are an item you can't easily get on ebay, if you want a custom fit. Not all bows will be adjustable to you. AND, they will put you on the shooting range and let you try a bow that they work on adjusting for you - before you buy. Go in a novice, leave a few hours later being able to truly shoot a bow the way you are supposed to. read more
