Hello. Summer 2022 I visited Willy's Boot and Shoe Repair at 2411 N. Galloway Ave #116 Mesquite 75150. So, I've head this particular leather belt for twenty years. It's my favorite. Just this summer, the buckle broke off. I took it to Willy's shop for repair. Upon picking it up, I tried it on and was completely satisfied with the result. Excellent stitching work. The son is extremely rude did not do what I asked him to do did an extra service that I specifically said not to then charged me $150. It should've been $49. This guy is not reliable. Said it would be done in 45 minutes, took over a week to do it when I asked him about my product got upset and rude and he called me a boy. I'm a grown man extremely disappointed in the customer service provided by them avoid this place at all cost this place is definitely not worth the headaches. This is my second experience fixing the heel of my boot and a pair of heels, and they've gotten me right every single time. They were also inexpensive too. Dropped off my crossbody purse so they could repair the strap that totally came apart from one of the sides. The purse only costs me $20. When I picked up the purse at the time they said that it would be ready they couldn't find it. Then after they found it they told me that it was almost ready and to wait for 10 minutes. I ended up waiting for 45 minutes. They charged me $27 dollars and all Willy did was hot glue the strap. A week later the strap came apart again so I took it back and they wanted to charge my $25 dollars to fix it again when they had supposedly already fixed it. This is the worst place ever. Please do not go to this store. They will rip you off. Find someone else to give your business to. This place is a joke! read more

Do not go to this place!!!! I dropped off two pairs of ladies ankle boots, two pairs of high heels, all needing the heel repaired and one needed the sole to be glued back on. (Nothing major). I also gave him another boot which needed the zipper fixed or replace. Before dropping my items off, I asked the owner Willy if he would be able to complete the repairs? He assured me he could and would have them ready in a couple of days. Big lie!!! I returned a week later during store hours but the store was closed and there was a note saying they would be back shortly. I waited 10 minutes then left because they they weren't back. I returned twice within the next two weeks, each time they gave me a story as to why my shoes weren't ready. My fourth and final attempt, he told me he was waiting on the glue to dry on the shoe that needed the sole glued. I immediately decided to wait for them. Willy had only repaired the heels on one pair of high heels and one pair of boots. He couldn't find my other pair of boots, he lied and said he fixed the zipper on the one boot. (Im glad I checked it in front of him, and of course it wasn't done) then he argued with me that it was done and he doesn't know why the zipper isn't working now. Once the pair of missing boots were located he brought them out and they were untouched not fixed, ( his excuse was he didn't know they were mine) the heels on the high heel shoes that was being glued weren't replaced either, He initially tried to charge me $143 but after pointing out that he only repaired one pair of boots and a pair of shoes he charged me $84.00 dollars which was way too much! Im just glad I was able to get all my shoes back and I will never ever go to that shop again. There is no way he is a true Cobbler that store has to be a front . 6-4-2019. Pleaseeeee do not use Willy's Shoe Repair in Mesquite TX. I took a pair of shoes to him & picked them up on Saturday paid him $17 just to glue a small section of the sole. I put the shoes on Sunday morning, while walking to my car the shoe came apart. I took them back to Wiilly today & he wanted to charge me an additional $15 to repair what he didn't repair in the first place. This has happened before with him but i liked his mannerism. Today I realize he DO NOT stand behind his brand. I am soooooooo upset with the nice mannered man behind the counter. Bought an expensive pair of sandals and the 1st time I wore them the whole left side came unglued from the base. By the time I took the left shoe to be repaired (only the left), both sides had come unglued from the cork base. So basically I took the left shoe( in 2 pieces) to Willy. He charged me $24.36 to reglue the top of the shoe to the bottom. When I wore the shoe several weeks later (for the first time after repair) to an event, the whole left side of the shoe came unglued again. Fortunately there was a stapler available to get my shoe back together for the evening. Took the shoe back the next day, his son said no problem we'll reglue it. Picked the shoe back up and sure enough, the next time I wore the shoe, the left side of the top was pulling away from the base. Took it back today and Willy denied that he had even glued that side of the shoe. Not only that but he inferred that it must have been the right shoe (which was NEVER taken to him). I argued with him for a bit but he said he would reglue it again but he would have to charge me. I was totally appalled that he denied even having glued the shoe knowing it was in 2 pieces when I took it to him and in 1 piece when I picked it up. So who glued it?? the shoe Fairy. After several visits, he convinced me to have a custom pair of boots made. The selling factor was that a belt would be included. Because I was getting ready to spend $1500, the belt was the selling factor. Just before my boots were done, this clown has the audacity to call to sell me a matching belt.....for an additional $200. I'm an honest man and knew I was getting hosed, but thought why not. Especially due to the unique nature of the skin. That was 2 years ago....still no belt. His excuse was that he got busy... I read all the negative reviews below and was hesitate to take my boot for repair. But Cavender's Western Wear had recommended Willy's. They said he does a lot of boot repair for them. I found Willy's to be the opposite of the prior reviewers. Willly was very courteous and friendly. He put zippers in two pair of my boots and resoled another pair. His work was very good and his prices were very reasonable, compared to other boot repair shops. The boots were ready when he promised them. This place is beyond horrible. I am not sure how they have been in business for this long. They give you a ticket when you drop off the shoes, but when you come to pick the shoes up they ask you what kind of shoe you left. I took my shoes to this so called willy's boot place, but encountered monstrous being that told me that one of my $650 shoes was disposed for not coming to pick it up on time even though the service was paid for and it wasn't done correctly in the first place! I went back to pick up my shoe that was missing a sole, examined it and found out that it wasn't done correctly (it came off) I was promised to come back which I did few weeks later and was told that they had disposed it, because I didn't come quickly... I was so upset that I left, wanted to call the police and would have resulted to me taking them to court but I promised myself that I will never set my feet in their trap again and to make sure that if anyone is reading this will Never Patronize these thieves!!! I came by this store in Mesquite because my favorite shoes got horrible scuffs on them and I wanted to repair. The sign says open from 12 to 5 so I came right at 12 the light was on saying open but no one open the door so I rode around town for a few minutes and came back. This time they had to sign saying they were open the TV was on the lights were all on and yet no one opened the door it was locked. So I called a few times and no one answered the phone and there was no way to leave a message. I am black so I don't know if this guy is racist or whatever but I don't understand why you can have a shoe shop saying you're open from 12 to 5 and clearly you will not open the door you have been there because the signs are on the lights are on the TV is on but you will not open the door. I took a pair of boots to be fixed and all they did was put cheap rubber soles and charge me $86. It cost me more for the repairs than the boots. and to top it all off I came a day later and they still were not ready when I was told they would be ready by certain time. I waited 20 minutes and a day later and all they could do was smile and say "see you next time." Not gonna happen. Save your money and just buy a new pair shoes. Ok, so i had like stocked up at the Neimans outlet or something and had two pairs of shoes to be stretched and two pairs to have the insole re-glued. Took it all in on a Saturday or something and explained the situation to a young girl who wrote everything down and quoted me something like $30 total for everything plus a shine, seemed fair. They called a few days later for me to come in and try on the stretched shoes and pick everything up. They seemed ok, but can you really tell just by putting them on in their little storefront and not really walking around? Probably not. The shoes that needed some gluing was another story, it didn't happen at all. Good thing I've been burned before and have a type A personality, I checked those babies like a hawk before leaving the store. The girl took those shoes to the back and had them glued right then. Really disappointed that even after her writing everything down and me leaving the shoes there for almost a week the service didn't get done. Oh, and the shoes I had stretched? I sold one pair on ebay and haven't worn the other pair since. Does stretching work? I think I'll try taking the other pair to a different store. read more

This shop was recommended to me by a reputable business, therefore I thought I was going to be a happy customer. The job I asked Willie "Oscar" to do was quite simple. I called on the morning that my things were suppose to be ready. Willie made an excuse that his machine had a broken part, but that it was being fixed and asked me to come later in the day. I arrived at the time he asked, only to find that the job I had left him was "butchered". The job required sewing straight stitches, nothing fancy or intricate. All of the seams he had sewn were crooked, and very obvious because the thread he used was black on a white leather. He agreed that his work was not quality, but blamed his machine. He agreed to work on one of my bags and correct the problem. I agreed to give him another 7-10 days. On the 10th day, I called several times, with no answer. On the 4th call, the phone was answered, set on the counter, and I unfortunately heard a 10 minute conversation that Willie had with his co-worker calling me a bitch and explaining that he was not a "factory" and didn't want to do my f-ing job. There were many profane words used during his ranting. I am an honest working woman and was planning on giving Willie some good steady business on handbags that I am making. He will not be getting any business from me, or anyone else that I can convince that he is not worthy. I will spread the word that he is NOT a quality craftsman, or an honest man. read more

If I could rate them a -10 I would. Long story short, I am very disappointed and will never use this shop again, and suggest that you do not either. On a Saturday, I took 4 pairs of shoes/boots to have heels cut down on 3 pair and heel taps replaced on 1 pair. Also included were 4 handbags in which the handles were to be SEWN and or hardware replaced. Went in one week later and was told they were not ready, come back later that afternoon and they would be ready. Could not return same day because I had to be at work. Sent daughter the following week and was again advised they were not ready. Two more weeks pasted due to holidays and returned for a third time and still advised not ready. First weekend in January, went back for final time and now they claim they can't find our belongings. Spent 15-20 min describing what has been dropped off. Then owner has to nerves to say "since it's been 30 days" he wasn't responsible for my items. I nearly hit the roof. $84.00 later I am convinced the heels were not cut down and the purse that was to be sewn was glued and is pulling apart.
