A longtime customer of Willy's for at least 20 years. Have been to many locations. Some good, some poor. This location ranks on the poor side, unfortunately. The chicken was pale, lacking taste, lacked seasonings, and was in 2-inch sized chunks. Large enough to induce choking. Even though I've been a fan, I have never understood why the chicken isn't SHREDDED. Easier to bite into, sprinkle on nachos, sit comfortably inside a taco shell, and it's more visually appealing. Rather than nibble, Willy's would rather you wolf down the chicken. Like a wolf. This Briarcliff's location must be a one-off with the naked, flavorless chicken they serve. At least I hope so. Another issue, the cashier didn't wash her hands before putting on gloves to serve food. Don't be alarmed, though. It's happened at MULTIPLE Willy's locations. Employees leaving one zone (cleaning dining room, using cash register, using broom, lunch break, etc.) to start serving food without stopping by the sink. They think that dirty hands on clean gloves = clean hands. Why have a sink if it's not going to be used? Does it even work, or is it a prop? A number of locations, including this one, have had gnats. It's so gross. Usually around the beverage area. And what's with Howlin Willy's? That's a flop. They occupy a tiny register inside of Willy's, like some mom and pop operating an ice pop business in a tiny corner of a convenience store. No workers. Just a tiny counter. The customer standing there told me it's the same employees. They just run back and forth. I thought Howlin was a separate establishment. It's laughable and I am embarrassed on Willy's behalf! Back to Willy's though... I had a completely broken (in multiple pieces) taco shell when I got to my car. I received NO chips. Wasn't going to go back inside. I'll just count it as a donation to a brand that once represented quality and excellence, but I won't be returning to Briarcliff. Either Willy, the founder, sold off the business, or he simply stopped caring. At least the cookies were good, y'all. There's that! read more

The food I ordered (Baja burrito with steak) literally looked like slop. Lettuce, rice beans and pico on the bottom, a burrito draped across with guacamole and queso drizzled over. Came here to utilize a coupon we received in the mail. The establishment is split between Mexican food and fried chicken (the one we had the coupon for). Orders are placed at the allocated register and a number for your table is provided. There also an open salsa bar for all patrons there. We got their Jalapeños honey chicken sandwich with macaroni, french fries, and chicken salad. Fries and macaroni were kind of bland so I would have been okay to go without. Chicken sandwiches tasted pretty good inside of the brioche buns, pickle *singular,* and jalapenos. However, my problem is, I just cannot handle hot oil type of spice as it does NOT agree with my stomach. Salad had a healthy portion of fried chicken, coleslaw, and bacon. Since we were full from our sandwich meals, we saved the salad for later and realized the sides of dressing was just extra as they already drizzle more dressing on the salad itself. Good thing we ate it sooner than later afterwards. Overall, the fried chicken half was okay. My friend and I are more interested in coming back for their Mexican half next time around because of how it encapsulated the air. read more

I'm not originally from GA, so I'm glad Willy's is around in my area for my burrito/bowl cravings! As a student, I appreciate being able to get some takeout that doesn't break the bank. The first time I had it, I got a burrito delivered on GrubHub and it really hit the spot. I missed the note that entrees come with chips and I ordered chips and queso separately (not mad, cuz I love chips and salsa/guac/queso)! I stopped by in person the other day after signing up for the rewards program to redeem my 50% entree. I'm not that familiar with the menu, so I feel like it would have been helpful for the display case to have labels to show what items are available to make building your own easier. It's awkward when you have to keep asking the employee what the different ingredients are (or maybe it's just me haha). I built my own burrito bowl and ate it with chips. Willy's is still my go-to fast burrito. It's yummy and a local chain. And easy on the wallet! This location is relatively new (only a few years old) and still seems shiny. It almost has an industrial warehouse feel with the high ceilings and exposed ducts. It's roomy and has plenty of seating. A couple of TVs were on. The AC was at full blast though, glad I brought a jacket. Willy's is close to Sport Clips and Tin Drum in this shopping center, easiest to access from Briarcliff Road. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing which I wouldn't suggest in general, but Willy's employees generally are okay with that. A few items in the salsa bar were out, but the helpful guy brought out more of what we needed. Some of the ladies seemed a little tired, but our guy was pleasant and had a friendly demeanor. I was tempted to try the Baja burrito, but I stuck with my tried and true steak burrito ($7.95), wrapped in a flour tortilla, with rice and black beans, and customized extras to my preference. The satisfying burritos all come with chips, and you can go to town at the salsa bar. If steak's not your fave, there are chicken, pork, tofu, and veggie. And if heaven forbid, burritos aren't your thing, there are loads of other options, like nachos, tacos, quesadillas, and salads. If you join the Burritohead Club, you can score handy coupons here and there. Highly recommended. Getting one in my email the other day reminded me that I needed to revisit Willy's. You can find this location of Willy's Mexicana Grill at 2566 Briarcliff Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329 - this is in the shopping center across from Loemann's Plaza at the Northwestern corner of the Briarcliff Rd and North Druid Hills Rd. There's parking out front but the negative is that the shopping center can be a bit tough to get into and out-of due to the proximity to the shopping center, etc. For instance, if you're approaching from I85 you need to head north on Briarcliff to enter the shopping center. We were on our way to a concert at Lakewood Amphitheater and needed something to eat before the show so we just pulled off on North Druid Hills and looked out the window - I know, very scientific but it is "Old School" and you know I'm def in that category. We spotted this Willy's which I hadn't known about prior to the random search, so you see, sometimes things just work. As people that have known me for long know, I'm a big fan of the Willy's Burrito over just about any other chain. I think they do the best job with ingredients and portions and I just like the flavors. The only downside is that the various branches (my go-to is the one near the Concourse on Hammond, by the way) tend to loose a bit of food quality and consistency. Also I've eaten in a few where the service wasn't what I was used to - but I guess that happens. This particular location is practically new, with all new equipment, industrialized furnishings, wood, ceramic and glass interiors and well-positioned menu boards. On this day I ordered a Willy's Salad with Adobe Chicken - my wife ordered a chicken burrito with black beans. My other favorites here are the nachos - these are some of the best in Atlanta and an amazing value - comes with choice of meat, sour cream, pico and guac salad. I've since eaten at this location a few times and the service in general has been good, with enthusiastic people behind the register and taking your custom order. I like this Willy's but I wish the parking situation was better. After you get a burrito go next door to Sublime Doughnuts and enjoy an Orange Dreamstar doughnut (only one - more and you'll fall asleep in the car) - you can thank me later. I've caught hair in my food numerous of times. Thought that the last time it could've been a mistake which allowed me to come back and try again. The food is not always fresh. I have to go a mile with the staff in order to get fresh food. Staff is not friendly and they keep attitudes. Management there is unprofessional. Manager Chris to be exact does not have respect for customers. This guy is malicious and makes his team show favoritism between customers. read more

Let me start by saying, I've been to this location once before & had a great experience. This time around... HORRIBLE! I'll never go back. From the moment I walked in, the energy was "off." No one greeted me, no one smiled... all I got was awkward stares from the 3 employees behind the counter. It was "hood" & too "banjy" for my taste. I proceeded to place my order & the first employee seemed to be a bit preoccupied with the conversation he was having with his fellow employee. He was more interested in his personal conversation, than to listen to me place my "special request" order. I simply wanted a Veggie Baja Burrito. The same thing I got last time. He moved so fast, rushing, that I barely got any veggies on my burrito. I'm assuming since it was the bottom of the barrel, he didn't want to stop the refresh the container with fresh, new veggies. (Fast forward: my Burrito was mostly bread due to the little/to no veggies inside). Moved down the line to the next employee who was doing everything but paying attention to me. He also seemed to be in a rush due to the rest of the ingredients, he just threw in the aluminum container - with no regard for presentation. With all due respect, that tee'd me off. I was on my lunch break, so I didn't have time to do anything, but accept whatever he threw at me. Obviously, his personal conversation took precedence. Moving right along. I get to the cashier, who I'm convinced had an attitude. She didn't listen to me when I attempted to correct her regarding what my order is. She seemed cold & annoyed. My final issue with this location is... why is a veggie Baja burrito $8.20 and a chicken burrito is $8.75? I barely got any veggies in the so-called burrito. And the chicken burrito should've been steak, like I had tried to inform her. This round of employees working today at/around 1:29 PM, on 03/15/2019, has really turned my stomach about this location. OK I just went here hoping to get a burrito... Prior to this visit I had never been to Willy's before. I've always been a Moe's guy since it's an Atlanta brand. The only reason I went here was because it's next to my work place. Needless to say I was not disappointed. The food was amazing! The quality was as good if not better than Moe's. The second time I visited I got chicken nachos which was mind blowing as well. A pretty good spot for Tex-mex food. The quality is consistent with other Willy's locations I've been to. I got a burrito with Adobe chicken, and they absolutely stuffed my burrito. It's a Willy's. If what you want is a burrito or a quesedilla, or a burrito "salad" in a bowl. You can't go wrong with Willy's. The only criticism I have of this place is that parking can be in high demand during peak meal hours. And during peak meal hours, the line at Willy's is long. But that's for a very good reason.
