Came here on a weeknight for dinner with my husband. We walked in and there was a bit of a weight, but it did move pretty quickly. The server greeted us within moments and got us started with some chips and salsa while we waited for our drinks. I got the steak burrito with rice and beans on the side. I haven't been to this specific La Parilla location but decided to stop here since we were in the area. There is a large parking lot with plenty of spaces and was happy there wasn't too much of a crowd when we stopped in! We got seated quickly and got our drinks and chips and salsa quickly while looking through the menu. We ordered the chicken fajitas, a spicy chicken bowl, a chicken à la parilla buritto and another burrito as our dishes. Food came out within 15min and everything was delicious. I had gotten the burrito à la parilla which came with plenty of chicken and beans and rice on the side. It was super filling and good thing I didn't eat too many chips so I could finish the dish. I tried a few bites out of the other dishes and my favorite was the spicy chicken bowl. I really enjoyed the dressing that came on top which was unique and definitely spicy. After living in the area for about 2 years we finally gave this place a try. On a Thursday night it was very busy for some reason. One would think the food was really good based off the crowds we usually see, but it was OK at best. After about a 15 minute wait we were seated and our first waitress seemed flustere. Not sure if she was new but she got annoyed when we told her we were ready to order by the time she came over to take our drink order. Sadly the chips were possibly the only thing that was good. My son had the cheese quesadilla off the kid's menu, I ordered the chicken chimichanga, and my husband had the fajitas. It's not that anything was necessarily bad tasting but really just mediocre. Service did get better when our original waitress seemed to go MIA and another staff member started to wait on us. Can't say we'll be back soon; at least not to eat. Not the best Mexican place I've had around Atlanta, but definitely one of the closest and best bang for your buck~ It's a busy restaurant for sure, but if you come and they give you a wait time, it's not exact to the T. I came around 5pm on a weekday and was told that it would be a 30-45 min. However, they texted us again not more than 10 min later. So if wait time is your main deterring factor of eating here, just stick around for a bit! There's a lot of seating inside too, just very busy. Parking is very convenient and easy. Located in a huge plaza, you're bound to find some free parking. The decorations are mid beside some cactus decor in the back. I think the environment could have been more festive. Service was quick, she was thorough. She asked question after question to make sure we got margs the way we wanted. As for food, I got a Tinga Chicken Quesadilla (~$12). It was delicious and very filling. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream on the side. I wish it had a kick to it or its sauce. Came here because I wanted some queso. My boyfriend got a quesidilla, and even though he asked for beef fajita (steak) he recieved ground beef. The queso is good for the first couple of bites but my stomach started hurting immediately, my boyfriends stomach hurt really bad from what he did eat of his quesidilla. Really dissapointed. Had a great experience at La Parrilla! The service was excellent--our host and waiter were friendly and on point, and the manager even stopped by to check on us. It was a little loud, but the food more than made up for it. I had the enchiladas with refried beans and rice--always my go-to and always delicious. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and as expected, it was busy. The parking lot is usually pretty full due to the many businesses in the complex, but I was able to find a spot close to the entrance. There was a 15-20 min wait for a table of 2, we put our names on the list and were actually sat within 10 minutes. Service here is typically good. Our server Carlos was super kind and attentive. He checked in on us regularly and was just overall a delight. You can't come here expecting extravagant Mexican food. This is your typical Tex-mex spot. I've been coming to La Parrilla for several years. It had been a while, so with all of the celebration going on, my boyfriend and I decided to pop in. Being Cinco de Mayo, the ambiance was extra fun and colorful. Despite it being packed, we got a table immediately. I'm sure the later times today will be even more slammed. Our server, Camryn, was amazing! Very sweet, friendly, and attentive! Her smile and positive energy lit up the room. She made us feel welcome and valued, and definitely deserves to be recognized. To start, I ordered a Margarita on the rocks with tajin on the rim. We were also given big, cute plastic Cinco de Mayo cups of water (which I meant to take home with me but forgot). For our appetizer, my boyfriend and I ordered a queso dip with raw jalapeños on the side. The cheesy, gooey goodness was addictive--we finished every drop of it. For my entree, I went with a classic favorite: Cheese quesadilla, with a side of refried beans and rice. Everything was delicious. My boyfriend got the shrimp fajita. I had a few bites of his and it was super juicy and flavorful. We loved everything. After finishing our meal, we left with free t-shirts and a to go box! First, when I arrived to be seated with my party of 2 adults and 2 kids, I encountered a dark-haired male host who made immediate eye contact with me but then quickly looked past me at others behind me. When I approached him, he put his finger up at me as if I were a child, signaling for me to wait. Another woman with braids had to tell him to put me on the list. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes, which was fine. However, after waiting outside for 37 minutes with our children, we noticed multiple parties who arrived after us being seated before us. When we went back inside, we saw that we were the only party still marked in orange status. The woman with braids acknowledged the issue and tried to resolve it, but then the manager, Luisa, said she was going to seat another party that had just walked in instead of us. After we spoke up for ourselves and the issue was pointed out again, we were finally seated. Then another server was asked to take our table, but she repeatedly ignored us even when we were pointed out to her. Once we were seated, our server approached us and immediately asked how we would be paying. Then she pointed at the kids and said, "So what do they want?" That was the final straw for us, and we decided to leave. I'm not sure what the issue was--whether it was race, appearance, or something else--but the entire experience was extremely disappointing. The margaritas were huge and pretty good. My friend's beer came out timely but there was something floating on it. They of course took the beer back but then took a while to bring him a replacement. As for the food... their salsa was pretty spicy considering it's the starter for the table. The entrees were smaller than I was expecting but it was fine. Stop making policies that makes no since. Please explain how is it 2 couples cannot purchase a pitcher of beer and a pitcher of margarita at the same time? One couple drinks beer and other couple wants margarita? Waiter says against policy. We ask for manager but a person appears that isn't management. Says it's against DeKalb County. I ask what county policy, but lead (maybe not) says it's house policy. I look around and I do see some tables with different types of personal choice of beverages. We choose to cancel beer order and leave. I really feel we were treated in a manner that was disparaging against us. We went another TRUE Mexican restaurant 2 miles away and no issue of ordering a pitcher of margarita and a pitcher of Michelob Ultra. This was very disheartening experience at this place. Lunch menu was straightforward being one page with a front and back. I did hear their dinner menu is more extensive. Drinks were sweet and well prepared. Food on the other hand was very mediocre. Most of what I could taste was their rubbery cheese and a heavy tomato paste. Rice was soft and over cooked. Apparently their chicken soup was good though but I didn't try it to say for myself. If you want authentic Mexican, I would not recommend. Staff was super friendly though! However, the drinks alone aren't enough for me to come back personally. This location is fine in person. The LaParilla website to order online does not work. It will act like it works and then when you go to pick up your food, they will tell you they never received the order. Your account will be charged and you will be refunded but the refund will not show up for days. Instead of expediting your order to try to fix it, you will be told that you'll be called if they somehow receive the online order and you can let them know then if you still want it. Totally unacceptable. Even though it's a 'chain' and they don't control their own ordering website, they should take steps to get it corrected rather than just throwing up their hands and also not offering any service recovery. I'm not a meat eater and I am always able to place a customized order, and needless to say they always get it right. When we walked in we were presented with complimentary mints. When we got to our seats, we were asking questions to our waitress and she looked like she had an attitude! My friend ordered a beef taco and said the beef was lacking flavor and that it was mediocre. The shrimp nachos were also pretty mediocre. It didn't have enough cheese sauce and the shrimp was overcooked. We did order cheese sauce and it came in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a shrimp taco. The service was great! Servers and hostess were very nice. The hostess found us when our table was ready and lead the way. While we waited for our table. We were able to sit at the bar and grab drinks. Unfortunately I had two drinks and they were not strong at all. I also didn't eat since 12:30 pm and we went to dinner around 7pm so that's how I could kind of tell. I ordered chicken enchiladas ( my usual at Mexican restaurants) and I unfortunately did not like them. I can't explain what I didn't like about it, but I only at the rice and beans and pieces of my enchilada. I was kinda disappointed for sure. My friend ordered some kind of chicken soup.
