They serviced our GE Monogram built in fridge. They came out probably 6 or 8 times and it kept breaking. It wasn't their fault. They kept trying and trying but it was a poorly designed fridge. They were gracious, responsive and kept on trying. Finally, after throwing away fully stocked fridges of grocers on 3 separate occasions we broke down and bought a sub zero from them. As we prepare to move to our new home, we need to pick a new refrigerator. I may also have some lifecycle replacements to do at my present home before it goes on to its next life. I called and spoke with Elliott by phone. He was super to work with in the phone, so I decided to make a run out to see things in person. I will admit, it's a long drive--and I live in far southwest Austin. But the reward you get is a nicely outfitted showroom full of appliances at all price and decor levels. I met up with Elliott and he was just as friendly in person and took the time to listen to my needs and try to match me up with appliances that fit my requirements and budget. Forget the big box stores and their games. While I did not buy that day, I know exactly where I'm going for my purchases. I may not buy everything discussed, but this place is my go-to. Recommended. Beyond previous good experiences with buying and appliance service from Wilson's, today I received excellent and timely (under warranty) service of our washing machine. (The machine was off balance and wobbled considerably even at lower speeds.) The technician texted me in advance, gave a reasonable arrival window, arrived on time early in the window, spent care to listen to me about the washer. He made the adjustments. Gave me some advice, which I requested, on how to fix the same situation later, if needed, and ways of preventing future machine wobble. He didn't gaslight me. He was pleasant and helpful. read more

I contacted Wilson AC & Appliance because a fireman recommended Wilson. He came to help when my old oven locked on the cleaning mode an hour into baking my chicken! I reached Ray that same day and he was so very helpful in figuring out exactly what appliance I needed to install into my space, along with a new microwave. I ordered his recommendation and approximately 2 weeks later the oven and microwave were delivered. Unfortunately my oven/microwave hookup was not to code, so I had to wait for electricians to fix that problem. Once that was solved I scheduled Wilson again for the install. Good luck getting a hold of anyone on the phone and when you do they apologize for being short staffed that statement is getting old really fast. I've had other places that I have called for appliances that pick up and are eager for business. It's no wonder businesses are closing down with that attitude. We sold our house this past June and the buyer insisted on taking our one-year-old washer and dryer in the sale. We really loved this washer/dryer and struggled to find anyone who carried it because of the unique color, the huge size and the manufacturing shortages. On the recommendation of a friend, I purchased a GE dishwasher, GE stove/oven and a GE refrigerator. When we got to the showroom we were shown the appliances and I ordered what I wanted. I asked if it would be a problem to store the appliances in case they came in before my countertops were installed. I was told no problem. When the appliances came in, I was told the warehouse was full and they needed to get them out. I reminded him of what he said when he sold them and he begrudgingly let me keep them there. The guys that delivered the appliances were very friendly and professional. They pointed out a slight dent on the dishwasher (that I probably wouldn't have noticed) and said they could give me a discount or order a new one. I took the discount. Then they showed me scratches on the refrigerator doors and said they would have to order new ones. Fine. The doors were shipped to my house and I called Wilson's to tell them they were here. The man I spoke with said GE would have to send someone from the factory since it was a cosmetic problem. I didn't hear anything and when I called back I spoke with a woman and she made an appointment to send someone out. When the serviceman installed the new doors he left off a part so one of the doors didn't shut correctly. More phone calls. They had to order the part but would let us know when it came in. But they didn't. More phone calls. Oh the part came in earlier than expected! (But they didn't let us know it was in). Another service call from the same person that left the part out. It's August 10th, and the original installation was February 22nd. It wasn't a matter of waiting for parts as much as lack of communication from the service department. My microwave died!! Since I bought my entire kitchen appliances (KitchenAide) thru Wilson Appliance, I brought it in to see if they could bring it back to life. Wilson Repair department told me it was unlikely as countertop microwaves have no replacement parts........REALLY? How strange! This is a two-part review. We bought all of our appliances for our home from Wilson and had a great experience. Our stand-alone ice maker had a problem after two years. Wilson came out and repaired. The high ice level sensor was out. The repair man showed me how to replace it next time myself. Second part is my temperature sensor went out again. I called Wilson and they said they would order one and get back to me. A couple of hours later I got a call they found one in their parts department. I went and picked it up the next day. Replaced it just like the guy showed me and it worked great. Wilson appliance is a great company and will continue to send people their way and come back for more appliances. read more

Delivery scheduled, team arrived on time/date promised and Jordan did an excellent job removing old unit and installing the new unit. As another positive, there was a minor incident where a plumbing fixture snapped off during the installation. These things happen, but Wilson's response was perfect. They had me contact my plumber to fix the broken fitting and reimbursed me for the cost within one business day. I will definitely use Wilson's for future appliance needs. read more

We have multiple single-family investment homes in Austin, and in the past have gone to one of the big box stores for appliance replacement, assuming, incorrectly, that such a fancy store as Wilson's would be more expensive. However, our experiences with the appliance department at Home Depot Dripping has consistently been abysmal in the past (experiences mirrored by most other H.D. appliance clients.. check out their sub-2 star Yelp review average if you don't believe me). Too many bad experiences to list, but among the common complaints: a different sales "partner" every time you call; consistently optimistic delivery dates, no update on product arrivals, etc. Finally, in desperation and frustration, we decided to give our locally-owned business a shot, and have now had two stellar experiences with Wilson's. First, we were pleasantly surprised to find that, although Wilson's over-the-top showroom does promote the uber-expensive top-of-the-line brands, they also carry the same lower-priced models as Home Depot, Sears (R.I.P.) and Lowes, AND, they are eager to match pricing dollar for dollar! The experience at Wilson's couldn't be more different from the Big Box guys. A cheerful, pleasant receptionist at the door, who immediately connects you with a knowledgeable sales person. No waiting, no empty appliance kiosk, etc. In short order, your appliance choice is written up, and a firm delivery date is confirmed (apparently the Whirlpool/Amana/GE corporate monster controls ALL appliance inventory in the Austin area, and none of the stores actually have on-hand inventory). In both our recent experiences, the ordered appliance arrived exactly on the date promised, and we received a call advising us of such by the same salesperson we initially dealt with. A typical Home Depot appliance pickup experience: 1) stand in line at the customer "service" desk 2) Wait while the customer 'service' 'partner' finds your order and calls it up from the back 3) wait even longer for some jerk-off from the back to bring your appliance up front 4) pull your car up from the parking lot to store front 5) finally drive away with your appliance A typical Wilson's experience 1) Tell the salesperson you will be arriving at the rear loading dock in a few minutes 2) pull up to the dock, where a smiling and personable guy personally loads your unit in your vehicle... no paperwork required All things considered, I can't help but wonder why ANYONE would overlook our own locally owned business, Wilson Appliance, in favor of patronizing corporate America (you know, the same Home Depot that forced the closure of our two local hardware stores within weeks after their opening in Dripping). My hope is that I NEVER have to endure the poor customer service at Home Depot ever again! Just sayin' Finally, a shout-out to Helen, one of the stellar Wilson's employees, and whom we've exclusively dealt with in recent times. Personable, attractive, efficient, and professional. She even came out on the dock for our last pickup to thank us for our (budget priced rental) purchase. Whatever she is being paid, it is not enough! A VERY HAPPY Wilson's repeat client! I am very disappointed with my whole experience at Wilson. We ordered a refrigerator in Feb. We knew it would take 4 months but our sales representative Helen never communicated that it was not going to arrive as promised. When I called to ask she said it wasn't going to be here until July. Then, I called her again only to find out it was not going to arrive until September. Had I not reached out to her each time, I would not have known the status. Every time I called to ask, she claimed she was just about to call me to give me an update. ( To make matters worse, they are now asking for more $ "difficult access fee." ) What a joke. I have ordered appliances exclusively from Wilson AC & Appliance for each of my moves over the past 10 years. Items purchased range from micro hood, French door fridge, oven, dishwasher, washers and dryers. The sales team (esp. Lynn) is first rate in their product knowledge and install coordination. My biggest purchase to date from Wilson was a large Trane AC unit installed 3 years ago. One year after install, my new unit sadly became a refuge to a family of rats to hibernate over the winter. The rats chewed through all the wiring which all had to be replaced. We never thought the rats would return but they did. The next year, the rats hibernated in unit again and chewed through all the replaced wiring. After calling Wilson to ask them what could be done to keep the rats from hibernating in my unit they scheduled a service visit to assess the damage. The wiring had to be completely redone....again. This would come at a cost of over $1000 on a unit I was still paying on. I also received suggestions on ways to prevent rats from returning after wiring was replaced. I was fully prepared to have to pay the full amount to replace wiring, in addition to the cost of other to-do items to rid rats from returning to my unit to hibernate. To my surprise, Wilson Appliance's technician, Vince, visited with the Trane rep and was able to find me new wiring from a damaged unit for FREE! In addition, I received a larger platform for my unit to sit upon to ensure rats were not entering unit from below. Owner, Trey Wilson, approved for his technicians to install new wiring and platform at zero cost due to my having to already rewire the unit the previous year. My experiences ordering from Wilson's over the years have all been exemplary, but the actions taken by Wilson to replace wiring on my unit at no cost and contacting the Trane rep to ask for additional resources to save me out of pocket expenses went way beyond expectations. Since my original builder grade AC system was 17 years old I figured it was time to replace it before it died and I'm stuck with no AC. I checked with a few of the big name companies, you know the ones you see on TV, and their prices were way higher than expected. I also decided to try a couple local smaller folks with Wilson being one of them. Vince Jones at Wilson was very friendly and took the time to answer a bunch of my questions and they priced out a top of the line Trane heat pump system that was lower by a couple thousand less the the big boys. Installation was scheduled within a week and done in about 6 hours. Would recommend that folks give them a check when it's time to replace your system. read more
