These guys really helped me about two years ago with a diagnosing a dryer issue (suggested trying replacing the door latch first before taking it apart) and went great. I called the other day to check if they had a thermal fuse and was put on hold for twenty minutes before being told they didn't have it, then today was quoted double the price for a heating element than what online parts warehouses show. I purchased a condenser fan motor. Kirk walked me through how to install it. I went from a three wire motor to a four. He told me just to ignore the fourth wire, which wasn't true. If it was possible to rate lower than 1 star, I would, & I have never rated anyone a 1 star before. Went in to pick up an order for some mini refrigerators, and the owner / manager was beyond rude. Waited over 30 minutes after he stated someone would be around shortly to assist. When I asked if I should come back another time or if I could load the items myself in a very respectful and courteous manner, he became enraged. He pushed himself away from his desk, threw his glasses down and advised me he didn't care what I did as my work had been bothering him for the refrigerators. When I asked him if I could help out by loading the units myself he very loudly said he wasn't letting anything go without signed paperwork. I told him there was no cause for him to be have such a poor attitude towards me and was going to leave. He replied, "I think you should.". Have never been treated this poorly for absolutely no cause in my life. Stay away from this place at all costs! read more

So far, so perfect. The delivery people were the friendliest and most thorough I have ever seen. After numerous complications with big box and online appliance deliveries, yesterday was a red letter day, a first in my 40 years of home ownership. Two loads in, I love my very basic Speed Queen duo and may learn to love doing laundry. The lint trap is the best design I have ever seen. This place is great. These guys have supplied parts to us for years and have thrown stuff in without charge. We went in to find a refrigerator recently, and the owner gave us a special deal (which ended up making it an overall loss for them) that saved us from having to pay sales tax, and they threw in free delivery to boot. Basically, they are legit. They'll work with you and try and find the best market price deal for your budget. I highly recommend them. read more

Shortly before Thanksgiving my oven stopped working. My regular appliance repair guy suggested that I call Appliance Associates because, in his opinion, they were the best choice to work on Whirlpool appliances. I had a very good experience with them, both on the phone scheduling the appointment, and when the technician came to the house. I had the owner do a valve rebuild for an antique range around a year or so ago. I installed it and everything was fine. I got a call from that customer last week who had an issue. I went to check it out and the valve that was rebuilt was leaking through again. Same problem it had before. I called and asked about him checking it out or just getting a replacement. He tried to say something else was going on with that range and said "or they spilled water on it"? I have worked on these ranges for 27 years. The problem was and is in the valve body. All of a sudden his attitude changed and he said he didnt want to have anything to do with it and hung up on me. That is not good business practice. I will never refer anyone there ever again. read more

We needed a new washing machine. We had read the reviews, scoped out the Home Depot offerings and were ready to buy. Fortunately, I had also read the Yelp reviews of Appliance Associates. HD said they couldn't deliver for over a week and the absent minded, teenage looking, indifferent sales clerk really didn't seem motivated to help us. We decided to head to AA. We were greeted by the son of the owner of the store who enthusiastically and in great detail explained the pros and cons of the two machines we were considering. The price was $300 less than HD and the delivery was promised within 24 hours. As promised, the delivery arrived and before departing, they tested that the machine worked. Wow! Good prices, reliable service and personal involvement by the owner. Couldn't be more pleased. read more

Sold us an Electrolux Washer and Dryer not quite two years ago. We walked through all of the brands in the showroom with the owner and he spoke highly of the Electrolux for dependability and durability. We paid $1,891 for the washer, dryer and delivery/installation. We have had three service calls on the dryer since we bought it. Three. Once under warranty and twice not (so $$). Each time it starts rattling really loud. The most recent repair (today) was for $197 to "tighten a couple of screws inside." Literally. No parts were replaced. None. And the fix took less than 30 min. I talked to the manager (owner?) on the repair guy's phone (poor repair guy was very sweet) to complain about the repair costs (and the serial issues we've had with this dryer) and he said he can't "take it on the chin" for a product he "didn't make." Sigh. We've now paid more than $2000. For this stupid washer and dryer. I can't recommend this business. Or Electrolux Dryers. read more

Best part is they are open normal hours on Saturday so I can get what I need without having to take time off from work during the week. Recently I needed a small part for a dishwasher. Not only did they take the time to help me identify the part number over the phone, but they directed me to another business that had the part in stock as they would have to order it. I thought these people were great until yesterday. I waited all day for repairman, he failed to show....my day was wasted....

The main reason I am giving them a poor review is not based on their work (which so far has been ok) but on their poor communication, disorganization, and treatment of me as a customer. The service call required several calls by me and my tenant. At one point my tenant was told they showed up and he was not home. This was on a day that occurred before the parts had even arrived (?). Many times I called during business hours and the phone was not answered and there didn't seem to be an answering machine. Each time I did talk to someone it was a different person who could not answer my questions. On my last call I was told that this is Austin and things don't happen as quickly and maybe I should find someone else. Admittedly I was a little short with the man on the phone, but this was after multiple calls and no results and requests from my tenant to assist. I would have found someone else, but at that point the parts had arrived and I didn't want my tenant to be without the appliance any longer. In the future, I will take their advice and use a different company. read more
