Another BBQ spot who doesn't understand that its the SAUCE that makes the ribs. You can't claim you have a SECRET SAUCE when it tastes like a weak mixture of ketchup and vinegar and suttle seasonings. The meat itself wasn't bad but the ribs as a hole was not something I'd buy again. We also ordered the Brussel Sprouts, another mistake. Under cooked no flavor and imitation bacon bits. Today my daughter and I went to Wilson's Secret Sauce in Upper Darby. It was very good. We shared brisket and cheese egg rolls as an app. They were stuffed with smoked brisket and cheese. Very fresh and tasty and the meat was extremely tender. We both had the lobster rolls as our entrees. We both agreed that they were probably the best lobster rolls we ever had. They were served on a toasted garlic roll . Absolutely delicious. The place was very clean, and our server, Aliyah did a fantastic job. She was very pleasant and provided outstanding service . Hire or train your staff better!! Or FIRE the ones you have! I'm specifically talking about the girl you have working the register. Walked in, I said "hello how you doing?" She looked at me all weird as if I said something strange. Then I asked about my pick up order and she very snarky said, "I don't know what you ordered" What??? Impressed for first visit. Ribs are on point, dry rub or with adding bbq sauce. Place was crazy crowded which is good for them but parking is tight. Will definitely go back to sample other offerings but will most likely order ahead and do take out. I heard about this place on Preston and Steve (mmr rocks!) and it did not disappoint! I'm vegan and gluten free due to food allergies, and they take it super seriously. I had the impossible cheesesteak on a gluten free roll, it was my first cheesesteak in about 15 years. While we were eating the owner even came out and said hi and let me know that they have a dedicated gluten free fryer for the fries and that the wings can be made gluten free too. It's awesome to see a place that really doesn't need to cater to food allergies taking them into such consideration, it really means so much. read more

Wow. First of all, adorable place. It's a cute environment and the service is great. I could eat their brisket ALL DAY! The brisket cheesesteak is an absolutely must. I couldn't believe how incredible the BBQ sauce is! It's Kansas City style, a little tangy with just the right amount of sweetness. Their fried pickles are perfect. They're well done and perfectly bite size with a tasty chipotle dipping sauce. Added bonus, the owner came out to the table and checked in on us, said hello. The brisket cheesesteak especially has become one of my go-to comfort food options. But what really sealed Wilsons place in our hearts was our party that we had this weekend. Based on the aforementioned meals, we went with Wilsons as our main caterer. Kelly was a pleasure to deal with and helped me plan the perfect menu. Our guests RAVED about the ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and sides. Even the cole slaw, usually a side-dish afterthought, was called out as being outstanding. Omg!!!! Some friends and I were in town for the day and saw this place! Best decision ever! We just had their Philly Cheesesteak and it was amazing!!! Housemade blend of 5 cheeses and FRESH chopped brisket with caramelized onions! The pulled pork fries were great too! I met with the owner and he's a SUPER nice guy. Very knowledgeable but humble. We've dined in a handful of times and gotten take out a handful more. The brisket is consistently moist, the ribs (while not as tasty as homemade) are solid, the pulled pork is tasty. Baked beans have been previously good but this last batch we got was a little off & too vinegary. Coleslaw had a nice consistency. Mac n Cheese is good with a little more salt. I would like to start by saying this is a restaurant I used to frequent because the quality of food, and fresh ingredients. Having said that, I had the most uncomfortable customer experience today that likely will deter me from ever going back. I placed an order for pick-up, which unfortunately was not ready in the given time frame. An important (and probably unnecessary detail) is that this particular meal happened to be for my father's birthday. When I spoke to the owner (Kelly), she was unhelpful, condescending and unprofessional. While disappointed with the wait time and encounters I had with the owner I continued to wait. After I finally received my food and left, I decided to call back to express my concerns about the way business was conducted. To my surprise, Kelly defensively yelled at me, and made it known that she did not care whether or not I returned to her location, or left a review on Yelp. In all honesty, I was just hoping for an apology or some sort of understanding that Wilson's Secret Sauce is 'better than that'. Unfortunately, they're not. Went in the store for take out. I ordered the brisket platter and plain fried wings with sauce on the side. It took 45 minutes for me to get my order. There was about 6 or 7 people on staff. 3 women upfront and the rest in the back. It's an open concept kitchen so the cooks could see my partner and I as well as we could see them. The three women upfront were consistantly walking around us, bringing people who ordered after us their food. Not one person came over to let us know why our order was taking so long or to even acknowledge us. Finally I sent my partner to ask about our food. Turns out it had been sitting in the take out window for x amount of time. So now our food was cold. Still, the girls upfront didn't say anything. The food was cold, the wings were doused in BBQ sauce, the brisket was dry, the baked beans tasted like ketchup and the corn bread was too wet. Everything tasted bland or like ketchup. I would never have thought about writing this review if their service wasn't so lousy. I just wanted to be acknowledged one time! Over priced and under seasoned. I'll never be going back. read more

Friendly service; slooooww service with servers still familiarizing themselves with the menu. We should never have been seated for at least 15 minutes before we had water. The brisket sandwich was incredibly tender, with no gross fat to pull out. The homemade cheese sauce was delicious when I could actually taste it. Fries were fine and not coated which is a plus. Fountain Coke tastes a little odd. They serve the Impossible Burger!! My vegetarian husband loves that thing. They serve vegetables! They serve good vegetables! Spoke with the owner that informed us that he used to cater out of his home and once business got to be too much, he purchased a store front. However, the Mac and cheese was the worst I ever had, it was like they mixed margarine and American cheese for their secret sauce. I'd rather have boxed Kraft. I was very skeptical about a bbq place in PA, being a native Texan and brisket snob. But I decided to try it and was amazed that the brisket was actually quite good. I can't say it was Texas good but it was pretty darn close. Love the sauce too. We come here regularly and the brisket sandwich and fries are favorites. I have to say that the burger is NOT as good as it should be for a place with good meat. It's clearly a bbq place so I don't fault them too much but the patty seems like a preformed frozen patty. There isn't a month that goes by since Wilson's Secret Sauce opened, where I don't visit this place for their barbeque. Their food is FANTASTIC! When I eat here, I know I'm getting a great tasting meal from people who care about what they are making for you. Interestingly, one time I walked in too late in the day and they were out of ribs, so I tried their Brisket Burger. After that, I was HOOKED ! Every time I go back, I go in with the expectation of having something different, but I end up ordering that burger...I've never had anything like it. A good sized burger topped with smoked brisket, caramelized AND fresh onion, candied bacon and Wilson's secret cheese sauce...add a little of their barbeque sauce and it's to die for. WARNING: This burger delicacy is NOT for the calorie conscious (which probably best explains why I try to limit myself to one visit per month).
