Never disappointed when I come here. Food is constantly excellent servers are always friendly and accommodating at this byob barbecue joint. My brisket was tender and the collard greens had the perfect amount of heat. Corn bread moist and full of flavor. Our server was kind enough to give me small containers to hold the greens and extra bbq sauce and a bigger container for the leftover brisket so they would not be mixed together. Very thoughtful and another reason why I like to come here.

First time at W.S.S. Saturday afternoon there was no wait. Two friendly waitresses greeted me. First I was going to do take out but since it was not crowded. I decided to sit and take my time to enjoy it fresh and hot. The smoke turkey was best part of the meal. Favorable and good portions. The grill chicken was juicy and good. The Mac and cheese was the best of the sides. The yams my least favorite. The baked beans was so so as was the collard greens. The Wilson secret sauce was really good best mgreat job on the sauce

Everything went well. The service was friendly and attentive. The whole restaurant is neat, clean, and well designed. We ordered brisket platters and the food was excellent. We are going to put this place on our list of favorite eating establishments. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I was really excited to try this place after seeing it on TV, but unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to the hype. I placed a phone order and the older woman who answered seemed overwhelmed. She said my order would be ready in 10 minutes -- I told her I wouldn't arrive for 30, and she said "OK" and hung up. Later, I called back to add smoked turkey, and a different woman told me my order had been canceled because I wasn't coming right away. When I asked why no one told me, she claimed I had hung up before they could -- which wasn't true. Despite the confusion, I still placed an order for: * Brisket sandwich * Smoked turkey * Mac and cheese * Potato salad When I arrived, Alanna at the counter was very sweet and polite. She let me know it wasn't ready yet and asked me to wait a few minutes, which was totally fine. Once I got home, the presentation was on point -- everything looked great. But unfortunately, the food didn't deliver: * The **brisket sandwich** had jalapeños (was only told it had peppers -- I'm not a fan of jalapeños), and it came on a plain bun with no sauce on it (though they did include BBQ on the side). * The **mac and cheese** was warm but lacked any real flavor. * The **smoked turkey** was well-seasoned but very dry. * The **potato salad** was bland. I spent $63.80 and really wanted to love it, but the food just wasn't worth it for me. Between the phone order confusion and the underwhelming flavor, I won't be returning.

The food was really tasty. I enjoyed the Brunswick stew the best. It was even better than when I had in low country Ga where it originated. Our cashier was nice enough since we ordered to go and it was our first time. The restaurant was really cute as well with the Pig decor we didn't realize it was a sit down restaurant. I plan to eat in one day. The deserts were good as well a little pricy but tasty.

Brisket, corn bread, collards and baked beans

Best baked beans I have ever had. The collar greens were spicy which I loved. A Havertown favorite spot for sure. Service was great. Interior looks amazing.

Wilson's is only getting 3* from me. I wish I could give more but I simply cannot. Let's start with the good... - The service was great. I don't know the name of the individual working the counter and also running orders of food, but she deserves a raise and a medal. Crushed it. - The sides were really good. I loved the mac & cheese. Quite peppery. The baked beans also had a little heat, which I appreciated. The not so good... - Kind of expensive for what you get, IMO. - The cornbread, despite asking for 'regular' instead of 'sweet' was still too sweet. I like cornbread with absolutely no sugar whatsoever, but this was not that. - I'm not one to complain about comfort and ambiance usually, but man that AC was cranking and blowing right on me. The air was so strong that the curtains were moving and it blew my napkin off the table a couple of times. The really not so good... - The pulled pork was dry and bland. I posted a couple of pictures. I don't see any smoke ring or moisture on this pork. It was kinda bad. I had to drown it in the BBQ sauce (which I really liked, btw) to make it tolerable. If I come back, I will not be getting the pulled pork. I'll check out the brisket next time.

Having visited the South each year for a few years now, I have found some very good traditional BBQ places, so that's my bar for comparison. These guys are pretty strong but 3.5 stars compared to my southern eats spots (round to 4). The prices are high. The portions are okay. The taste is good. I felt a need for salt on a lot. I didn't need sauce, though, because meat flavors were good enough to stand alone. It was decent and worthy for good local BBQ.

Uber Eats confirmed HAB was 100% responsible for the promotion and promotion details. ISSUE ONE: DECEPTIVE MARKETING Uber Eats Promotion: BOGO Burger for $7.49. We decide to give it a try, never heard of Have-A-Burger. The business is located in an ice skating ring, think an expanded snacks counter. When placing the order through Uber Eats, there is a required selection for burger type, each option with an add-on price...no way to proceed without add-on pricing. This means that the BOGO Burger is really only BOGO Roll and Lettuce. There is NO WAY to check out with any Burger BOGO at the advertised price, 100% impossible. That is issue #1, and Uber Eats allows any vendor to write up anything and zero enforcement so restaurants can write up anything they want...totally allowed and zero consequences. $7.49 BOGO clocks out at minimum price $14.49, as if two burgers would be close to $30.00. ISSUE TWO: WHERE'S THE BEEF? Swear if you hold up the burger to the window you will see daylight. I haven't seen a burger this thin in my life. It was so thin it caught our attention because of how thin it was...again taste was ok but nothing there. ----- We were rather discussed and will not repeat. My brother had already told me that the food was good but I wanted to experience for myself... We were seated inside almost in the middle of the restaurant and had a great view of the tv (on the night we visited, the 76ers were playing in the semi-finals, so our seating was PERFECT! We placed our order with the waiter - hush puppies, chicken waffle skewers, hubby ordered some kind of sandwich with pulled chicken and I ordered the BBQ Blackened Shrimp. The chicken and waffle skewers and hush puppies were the "stars" of our dining experience - the chicken was tender yet had a nice crunch and the skewer ingredients as a whole were savory and the hush puppies had well balanced flavor and the slight crispness of them was so satisfying. Hubby's sandwich was pretty good - the chicken was juicy and tender and his fries were nice and crispy and seasoned with precision. The BBQ Blackened Shrimp missed the mark for me - if I could do it again, I'd order this minus the bread. The bread was too much and was just odd for me but I enjoyed everything else that came with this dish... Overall, we left satisfied. The service was excellent, the staff were pleasant, diligent and attentive and the atmosphere is very relaxed. This place is definitely a great neighborhood gem that everyone should try! P. S. I saw several people order the mac and cheese and each time that I watched the servers bring it out, it made my mouth water, but I didn't have an appetite for mac and cheese on the day of my visit but I would definitely try it on my next!

My husband liked a beer and would've gotten a second one, but the waitress never made it back to us at that point. I, of course, came to a brewery and ordered their apple cider margarita. There was a lot of ice. Too much ice. Not much drink. Didn't hurt that much because the drink was just ok. My kids crushed the pretzel. It was huge and my one kid discovered a love of cheese along with it. My spouse got the Cuban, which is a little dry, but pretty in line with Cuban expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the pickle burger with double patties, enough meat that I also shared bit of it with the kids. My kid dipped the patty in the pretzel cheese. My spouse had read that it took a while for food to come out, but it came out pretty speedy for us. We also ordered the crab dip, but it came out at the same time as our main course so we didn't eat much. Taking that sucker home. Besides the pretzel, the variety of spaces here are the main highlight. Again, disclaimer being this is coming from someone who didn't come to a brewery to drink beer.

Jim's West competes solidly for the title of Best Cheesesteak Joint in Phialdephia. Larry's, Max's, Dalessandro's and Chubby's...it doesn't matter! Jim's West is guaranteed to give you a heavy cheesesteak at a good deal. Real Amoroso rolls, traditionally wrapped, they don't skimp on any ingredients, they have Kosher Hoagies, and the Steak is even Halal!! Alhamdulillah! You can't top that apart from variance of luck. They're the only place to have the Banana Pudding Special (best banana pudding too), they have great Strawberry Lemonade with real strawberries in it!....and if that's not enough to sweeten the pot, they're the only place that offers the maximum variety of Cheese Options. They have Cooper Sharp sure, but they also have Pepperjack like a couple of the others do, and are the *only* cheesesteak joint to still offer Swiss since the pandemic. Cheese Whiz: Hit Or Myth is one of my favorite newspaper articles because Whiz is trash and American is the Philadelphia Style default. But at Jim's, whiz is different. It doesn't make your cheesesteak taste like macaroni, or plastic. Whatever whiz they're using is more like cheddar and enhances the flavor of the meat much like Provolone does. You can get spinach and broccoli on your Chicken Cheesesteaks, I love this kind of variety and I'm already planning to try this when it's time fur my next visit. If you don't want the steak chopped finely, just ask them not to. If you want it cooked as lightly as possible, just tell them! They are nice here and they will hook you up! Otherwise they are very consistent, they virtually never give overcooked steak. You can see how closely they pay attention to the grill as they cook and they actively toss away burnt bits of steak. I went here twice a day for over a week straight and got steaks from each cook at least once!! I believe in this joint. It has real history behind it as the 2nd oldest cheesesteak joint in Philadelphia, the first in West Philadelphia period. "New Ownership" but literally all the best staff from the old ownership.
