I've driven/boated by this place many times over my life time but have never been there. Everytime I go by I think or say out loud, "We need to go there," but then I forget. So when my father requested we have brunch for fathers day on the water, I knew just the place to go! When you walk in don't expect some fancy dining experience, its on the water so its nothing fancy. However its is clean and organized. The service was excellent, never had to worry about my coffee or water running out. Our server was very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. The staff all walk around and check on all the tables. Also we had a table right by the window so we had a great view of the river. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it was delicious! I ordered the Shrimp omelet which was the special for Fathers day, minus the hollandaise sauce (I personally don't like hollandaise). I don't recall what everyone else specifically ordered but there were definitely no complaints about food and we all left with full bellies. Also the price was VERY reasonable. With all 5 of us eating and having coffee, mimosas and bloodmary's our bill was only $80. I definitely plan on coming back now that I've finally made it here and enjoyed the food and service. It's been awhile since we've been to Wimpy's so me and my mom and 2 boys (13 and 4) decided to go on a Sunday. It was surprisingly pretty empty only us and 3 other families. We waited around 10 minutes for menus and decided to go track one down. We finally had the waitress come over and take our drink orders, and place our orders. They were out of fries, fish and chips, and the Philly sandwich. Which was disappointing. We got different food than we wanted. We ended up going to the bar to pick up our drinks after 30 minutes of waiting. Which we're sitting at the bar. We didn't start eating for almost 2 hours. The waitress was seen eating pizza in the kitchen. She did not seem sorry for the wait. The 2 other families were also disappointed in the wait and lack of food. I heard another family say "I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone" The food was fine but we ate fast because we were starving and my 4 year old was losing patience. We got the check after waiting for that for another 15 minutes. We ended up asking for a discount which they gave, and the family that came in after us left because they were tired of waiting. We bought a new jet ski and decide to go here for her first swim. Nice staff when we went to pay and place looks fine . We enjoyed ourselves and will return here a few more times this summer. As for the river goes there is lots of place to go around and see . The clientele here also seemed helpful as this was our first time doing this and seemed pretty chill. read more

Memorial Day weekend riding the Harley thru the delta. Hit Wimpy's for lunch and a little live music. Cut the Cord band was rocking the packed venue. Sunshine-water-adult beverages-cheeseburgers equals a very relaxing experience. Only minus was problem with restrooms. Port-O-San only. No bueno. Would go back anytime. Great place. read more

Well Wimpy's ...... We gave it a second whirl after a indescribable experience a couple years ago. Nevertheless, it stayed consistently poor. Immediately after walking in, we were greeted by a few of the local flies ( not bar flys) hovering around looking for their next meal. Sat down across from the kitchen and immediately noticed dead flies in the window. Probably should have just left then, but we sat strong for more. Nice older female server greeted us and passed off menus. When I asked a question about the breakfast or lunch, she called to the lone cook in the kitchen who said something like... If your going to order breakfast, do it now. I'm like ok, jeez.. I can go for the lunch menu if you want. Fast forward, I proceeded to go with breakfast and a friend and I began to order. I proceeded to ask if they could make the omelette with egg whites. Once again, the server called to the cook and asked. The cook looked at me is disgust and said " well I guess I can separate the eggs. " wow... ok don't let me really put you out. Within five minutes or less of ordering, our toast and English muffin popped up and we're ready . It then sat for another 15 minutes until our food finally arrived minus the sorry looking French toast they forgot. Food arrived sub par at best and within an hour I has on the throne. Wimpy's restaurant has new management and we had a great breakfast there. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food was great!

This is the best place on the Delta for good home cooking. We had fried chicken and spaghetti last Monday night. The chicken was moist and crispy and the spaghetti was terrific. I'm a big guy and there portions were ample. Check this place out. read more

Ate at the restaurant a while ago and had wonderful food, today we went back after a long day on the boat, ready to have some good food, and ended up very disappointed. Me and my two friends both got chicken strips. One of us had raw chicken, one of us had what looked like a beard hair in their fries, and the other one had a burnt chicken strip, and the other chicken strips were the size as nuggets, and the fries were very soggy as well. We stopped by there randomly on Tuesday and was advised thwy were doing a taco/fajita all you can eat bar. The bar tender had told us it was $15 and when we received our bill they had charged us $20 each. I mentioned to the new bartender what we were told as far as price and she didn't do anything about it. We went here for brunch and I recommend coming when they open at 10:00. The food is all homemade. It was fresh and hearty. Everything tasted so good . Our waitress kept up on the water and checking on us. Bathrooms were clean. The chef checks up on your table and sees how you are doing. The prime rib is smoked and I can't believe the taste to it. Their fruit and bread pudding was soooooo good. One buffet part is all breakfast with the other buffet part being lunch with items like prime rib and mash potatoes and gravy. I do recommend them turning the air on when it gets full with customers. It does get stuffy. It's old school inside and has some great charm to it. Soo I love this place! Love the location love the feel! Food is just ok, I recommend ordering something fried cuZ you can't usually screw that up. My crispy shrimp and garlic fries were good! The only bad thing is this place needs updated soooo bad. It needs a deep cleaning and pretty much new everything! At the very least updated tables chairs and umbrellas for outside. I wish I could talk my husband into buying this place I would make it wonderful. All that being said we will go back. read more

I was very disappointed with my breakfast. I've eaten here before and it has always been great. I don't know if they changed management,cook or? I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. Took forever to get my meal. When I did the toast was burnt along with the Home fries. The real shock was when I got my check. $22 for CF steak and eggs with coffee. Turns out they charged an extra $1.50 for onions and peppers in the Home fries. In short the toast and potatoes were burnt and the gravy was bland. And it was WAY OVERPRICED! Made the 20 minute or so drive out here bc it had good reviews & we were wanting something along the delta. Maybe the expectation was set too high but it was a pretty disappointing experience. The 5 of us were seated around 10:25 & besides us, there were maybe 3 or 4 other tables occupied. Orders were taken pretty quickly but it took 45 minutes to get our food & that was just for 2 of us. Then about 5 or so minutes later, a partial order came out, then another 5 minutes the remaining 2, then finally the rest of the partial order. My food was lukewarm & not very good at all. It didn't help that I wanted eggs Benedict (that they didn't have even tho it was on the menu) so the basic breakfast I got just didn't scratch that itch. I can make that at home! They also use margarine which I guess I should've asked bc I can't stand margarine. Noticed on the way out that there was a "Under new management" sign so that could explain the mediocre food & service. read more

I suggest they use the buzzers so people can put orders in and then people can just go pick up their order. we finally got ahold of a waitress and she said she'd be back and crickets. Three stars because of extenuating circumstances. On the way home I had to find the nearest McDonald's to use the restroom...if you catch my drift. I don't know which food item caused it but Wimpy's was the only food I had today. I went to Wimpys because I had a restaurant.com certificate. I purchased the certificate a while back. The amount of the certificate was $15 and it required a minimum purchase of $22.50. (the current $15 certificates require a minimum purchase of $30) So I ordered: Broccoli and Cheese cream soup...3 stars ($3.70) Calamari Ring appetizer...3 1/2 stars even though it was previously frozen. It came with a decent cocktail sauce for dipping. For the price, the portion should've been a bit larger($8) The Onion Burger...4 stars. Decent burger with an onion bun that held together while I was eating it. ($10). Burger came with a side of potato salad. Homemade but meh...3 stars Iced tea...1 star. No flavor more like colored water. ($2.70) Wimpys would've rated 3 1/2 stars had I not had to stop on the way home! The facility is dated but it is on the Delta and I'm sure there's lots of action during prime time. My server was efficient but she did not seem happy to be there. We had 12 ladies meet here for dinner. They have a large banquet room so we had 3 tables. Our waitress Jamie was awesome!! She made us yummy margaritas and brought us anything we wanted. The food was delicious. My favorite was the onion rings, but I also tried the prime rib french dip, coconut shrimp, tator tots loaded with homemade chili, and lemon cheesecake. Next to it is an RV camper area with a lot of people enjoying the outdoors with waterway frontage. Our server was Twana. Very nice, friendly and attentive. Much attention to detail and eager to please. She made us feel welcomed and right at home. Place was not too busy. Ordered a calamari appetizer with tartar sauce and followed up with a 1/2 lb burger with tater tots. Ask for meduem cook and that is just what I got. Juicy and full of flavor. My buddy got a BLT. Food arrived quickly. There is a full size replica pirate ship at the dock. Very cool. Nice outing on a Friday afternoon. Got a punch card for a free burger when you fill the card with 10 purchases. Like most delta restaurants the place is small with a limited menu however the food is always pretty consistent. The man cave Monday special is honestly the best and you get a ton of food for cheap. The owner dawn has worked her butt off to keep this place open during the pandemic and if it wasn't for her dedication this place would've been closed months ago. Now if I could rate the marina and rv park separately I'd give them negative 5 stars. The launch ramp is crap and the docks are just as bad. The rv park is hands down the worst in the area and management doesn't care. If you're looking for a place to launch a boat or place to stay look elsewhere. read more

Stopped in for lunch, I ordered the French Dip Sandwich and I still don't know what I got. They didn't have any French Rolls and the Au Jus was missing. It was a concoction of a tiny bit of beef (I think), multiple strips of cheap Bacon on greased-up slices of sourdough, disgusting. After a couple of bites I threw it away. I don't eat potatoes so I opted for a salad instead and was astonished they charged $3 more for a tiny garden style mess. I'll never go there again, shoulda went to Tony's in Walnut Grove. read more

My husband and I decided to take a drive along the river this morning to visit a restaurant from our childhood. Having not been there in over 30 years we didnt know what to expect. When we arrived at Wimpys we saw a sign for an all you can eat prime rib Brunch including mimosas for $22. We were greeted with such hospitality. The dining area is a blast from the past which added to the ambiance. All the food looked amazing and home cooked. The prime rib was perfect and I also really enjoyed the eggs with veggies as well as the potatoes and gravy. There were so many choices for dessert a bread pudding with golden raisins tasted like something out of my grandmas kitchen and the pecan pie was delicious. There were so many other things I wanted to try but I couldn't stuff another bite. We will definitely be back for Sunday brunch and maybe even try an evening with karaoke or a band night. read more

was excited because was told about new management and food was much better so decided to give it a try. the first visit was sorta good. the cheese burger was really good though the fries are the frozen dead-on-arrival kind. hand cut potatoes would have made my meal perfect. my friend had a salad that looked kinda beat up. she described it as "yesterday's greens," but she wasn't complaining Also, they ran out drinking water so none was served. the second visit was not as good as the first. the burger was ok and the fries were dead on arrival. my one friend ordered a blat (bacon, lettuce, tom, and avocado) sandwich, and it was served with the avocado on the side rather than on the sandwich itself which was inconvenient and messy because she had to dismantle the sandwich to add the avo. my other friend ordered a salad for which they did not have two of the ingredients in stock. ordered ice tea but they were out of that. ordered.. ordered a canned soda that was a menu item and they were out of that. i ordered a side salad and it was a bowl of greens on the verge of turning. i sent it back. i really want to like wimpy's. some things are good and other things suck. this is a place that treats salad like an afterthought, so if you're looking for inspired, this isn't the place for a good salad. cheese burger is good. the toasted bun is yum! the frozen fries are regrettable. they could up their game and do hand cut fries, charge an extra dollar for the trouble, and sell a ton of them on the side. many of us are willing to travel for a good basket of fries. grounds are beautiful and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. read more
