I own an old 2003 Mercedes.  My "Check Engine Light" was on and cannot pass smog.  I took it to 2 mechanics to fix the problem.  One mechanic charged me $500.00 and it took 4 days but it did not fix the problem. Has been bringing my 2 bimmer to Huiy, 2002 X5 and 2013 335i for all services required, like break fluid, engine oil, trani oil, coolant change as well as pads and rotors change and others. Most recently trusted him to change oil, and all pads on my Macan S. Saved me a fortune. One thing to mention is I always bring my own parts and fluids most of the time OEM. Decided to give this place a second try. All I wanted was an oil change on my Mercedes E350. Yes, the oil change was performed. When I received my invoice, I saw a charge for adding in "cleaner-n" fluid and "windshield" fluid, all without my consent. I wouldn't mind paying the extra dollar had Hugh asked prior to working on my car. (Other places I've been to would top off the fluids for free) And through my first experience with him a few years ago, I didn't bother to question him. I just paid him cash $153 and left his shop. I do, however, give him credit for test driving my car to see if my master cylinder should be replaced. He explained the 2 part braking system. I feel like he could be little more patient when answering questions and provide better customer service. read more

Hugh Rocks!!! I've been taking my car here for years. They primarily service German cars, but can fix anything. The plus: quick service (they only have a small garage, so need to get your car in/out the same day; hourly rates are very reasonable - especially compared to a dealer; Hugh is extremely knowledgable; no over selling - they only fix what needs to be fixed). Oh, and he treats customers great. If I need a bulb change or something minor done to your car, he'll go out of his way and just do it without charge (or maybe that's just for his special customers, like me, who has dropped too much money getting their car fixed). I brought in my '84 Mercedes today because another mechanic warned me the chain tensioner needed to be replaced... or else I would face doom & incur $thousands$ more to replace it. Since Hugh had installed a new chain tensioner about 1.5 yrs. ago, I wanted him to check it out first. He was doubtful that it would break down after 18 months, and based on the low mileage of the car, was suspicious that the chain would be loose either. Yet, he offered to replace the tensioner free of charge, without any hesitation. He wanted to ensure my satisfaction, in the rare event that the original part he had installed was defective. The work was completed in a couple hours, and when I returned to pick up my car, Hugh explained the issue and potential scenarios, thoroughly. He also showed me the part that was removed, and explained - with the manual - how the overall system works. I appreciate the time and care he put into fixing my car and making sure I was satisfied. I was referred to Hugh from Yamamoto. I was surprised because when I first walked in his shop I saw a bunch of old M.Benz in a pretty small shop so I became a little worried. Concerned that he would not know how to reset the computer on my 04 525i or if I was going to get over charged. He changed the battery for me and reset the computer while I waited and charged $200. My car is back to normal - Thank God!! He did mention that he mostly works on M.Benz but occasionally will also work on BMW's. Nice guy! read more
